As he was finishing up the grooves there was a muted boom in the from the direction of the beach. A huge fireball shot up into the air in the distance and hung there for several minutes before dissipating.
The garr nodded and knelt down to touch the ground with his free hand. He cast out his sense of the earth, trying to determine if their targets were moving towards them or the explosion.
**Binxy, meanwhile, climbed up the carefully weakened tree. It seemed the hunter intended to ride the thing down into the middle of the group of slavers.**
After a couple of minutes the group approached their location, if either of them peeked out they'd see the group had shrunk to twelve nadrask including the captain. At the appropriate time, as if on cue the bear slammed down on the tree and it came crashing down crushing two men right off. Binxy saw Barkle sprinting at the group from the other direction, pistols drawn.
Kherren felt more than saw the tree come crashing down and stepped out from his ambush position and began pacing towards the group. Eyeing up the weapons and armour held by each. Whatever slaver happened to be most peripheral in the group found the ground in front of him bursting to reveal a murderous underwurm intent on eating his legs.
The group was mostly unarmored and wielding pistols and various short swords and daggers. The man's eyes widened in surprise as his right leg disappeared inside the mouth of a land shark. The nadrask closest to Binxy apparently didn't expect the tree to be holding a jakari and now he was holding his throat. The slaves had all curiously enough dropped to their knees upon the first sign of commotion. Barkle skidded up behind the chained garr and leveled both pistols and fired them at his cuffs. They flew off and the group of jakari looked at him for a moment and suddenly the garr was covered in biting scratching jakari slaves. Kherren came upon two nadrask standing defensively with swords up.
**Figuring whatever was going on with the garr and jakari would work itself out, Binxy whipped around and launched himself dagger-first into one of the two slavers facing down Kherren.**
Kherren picked up his pace from a slow walk to a fast one, flicking a hand up towards the slavers. Dirt erupted from the ground and flew at both slaver's faces. As soon as he was close enough, Kherren swung his massive cutlass at one of their hips.
Waghren thrashed and writhed as it clamped down on the slaver's leg, trying to sink back into the earth with it's prey.
The man Binxy launched at barely had enough time dodge out of the path of the dagger, still ending up in a pile with the jakari on top of him.
Waghren, took a couple of stabs from a dagger on the way down but was otherwise successful.
Kherren's sword clanged off the ready man's sword, but he stumbled back from the force of the blow. A man off to his left fired a pistol at the massive garr... right before being tackled by a grizzly bear.
A bullet grazing across Kherren's shoulder was hardly ideal, the warrior yelled out something unintelligible in his home tongue. Shaking his head he pushed forward and swung overhand at the slaver, aiming to drive his weight and strength through the slaver's guard.
Waghren soon popped up under another slaver, this time not aiming for a bite. The land shark burst out from the earth near the feet of anyone who seemed to be holding in place, then immediately burrowed underground again.
The nadrask under Binxy gurgled blood as he struggled against the jakari and failed.
Kherren's blow knocked his opponent to the ground.
With almost half of them downed. The remaining six men started hacking at the slaves trying to free the bleeding garr. Warghen knocked one of them over.
**Binxy bolted forward full-speed, his head down and his dagger still planted in the guts of the dying slaver. The jakari threw himself forward like a battering ram, using his training to attempt to barrel as many of the slavers to the ground as he could.**
Kherren stomped viciously at the downed slaver's hip, trusting to the strength of the blow that the man would be incapacitated enough to move on. He burst into a run towards the slavers attacking the jakari, a flick of his hand throwing dirt into the eyes of any still standing as Waghren savaged the one he felled.
The one Waghren had felled rolled away with impressive dexterity.
Binxy slammed into one slaver and they went tumbling into another... who happened to be the captain with the glorious beard. It felt like hitting a wall, the man pushed his crewman and he went flying backwards taking Binxy with him.
There was a horrible crunch and a scream from the man Kherren stomped on.
Waghren ducked back into the earth as his master came barreling into the picture, holding his cutlass in a guard with two hands and trying to slam his foot through the downed slaver's chest.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together
Binxy - "See that, bear? Honey kissin' reckless."
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together
Kherren- Is that tree ready? They're going to pick up their pace if they don't rush back to the boat.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together
Kherren moved off to one side, aiming to secrete himself behind the nearest non-trapped tree.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.

Binxy - "Nice beard."
Captain - "Nice eye patch."
The man Kherren stomped at sprung nimbly to his feet narrowly avoiding the attack.
