Heulen - Thank you, although I think I may have made a poor decision at the very beginning. That warg had quite the reach. So, I heard that you serve the defeated beasts here as meals. Any chance I could take a break and get myself a few plates of that warg?
Ringmaster - "Certainly. Your warg should be hitting the kitchen any minute now. Feel free to head over to the cut, first plate's half off for the killer."
Heulen made his way through the crowd and grabbed himself one of the stools and looked around to get the attention of either the bartender or server. At this point he had relaxed from the warg fight and was no longer using any of his items powers.
Heulen - Hello, would it be possible for me to get some of that warg that was recently brought in? The one with the stomach injury.
When Heulen looked to his right, he found himself looking a grizzled looking greel in the face. The greel had a scar across his right eye and he wore two pistols with wicked looking blades attached to them strapped to his chest.
Greel - "Help you friend?"
The greel didn't seem particularly friendly, he seemed more bored than anything else.
Heulen - You look like the type that could. There are a lot of people here, and it doesn't seem likely that they're all here to participate. Which leads me to ask, what are they here for? Just to spectate?
Barkle - "A happy side effect of having to build this place a day's travel from the city I suppose. Turns out when people come out here they gotta have a place to eat and a place to sleep. What's more is that the kind of people that get out here like to gamble and when they win they want to spend it. That's why you see the merchants and cart shops about. Ringmaster built himself a small city and he's the king. Name's Barkle by the way."
The greel extended his small hand and shook Heulen's.
Barkle - "I missed your fight, but it must have been good. I've seen that same warg kill three other men. Not sure if pitting you against him means ringmaster likes or hates you."
Heulen - I wouldn't say he likes me, but I don't think he wanted to see me dead. Although I think he enjoyed me almost losing a limb. Hey if you wouldn't mind my asking, I'd like your opinion on what's most important to surviving in the pits.
Heulen - Hmm, it sounds like I might need to put some more time into training before I continue forward. I've at least got to practice not getting bitten so much, heh. I'll be seeing you later then Barkle.
Heulen finished off his meal, payed his tab, and then left the Harrowing Pits for the time being.
Falthor made his way into the tunnel system of the harrowing pits, weaving his way passed a couple of dejected looking contenders as he pressed towards the central chamber. Once there he tried to single out the ringmaster he had heard about.
Falthor's discipline didn't allow him to move far from a bump, he brushed at his duster to even if out a little. He didn't seem to be bothered by the man's aggression.
Falthor- Guess I wasn't looking where I was going there. Sorry about that.
Falthor could see a human man at leaning against a counter in the center of the commons. He has an air of authority about him and matched the description of the ringmaster that he had heard in a bar once.
Ringmaster - "Disappointed underling. He keeps bugging me to let him fight, but I make a point of not killing my employees. He brings in more animals than anyone else around here and I can't risk losing him. Don't get me wrong he'd breeze through most of it. But it'd encourage some of my less skilled hunters. The last thing I need is them trying to prove themselves to each other. Replacing them would be a chore."
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
He tossed Heulen a velvet bag containing his prize.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together

Gem - "Sure thing wolfy."
She winked at him and was off. A few minutes later she plopped a streaming plate of meat and potatoes down in front of him.

Heulen - Thanks very much miss.
While Heulen ate the meal, he looked around the place for anyone or anything that looked interesting.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.

The elf swaggered off confidently.

Falthor- One of your disappointed contenders?
Ringmaster - "Disappointed underling. He keeps bugging me to let him fight, but I make a point of not killing my employees.
