**The Alogeans were inhospitable in the best of times, and insanely treacherous at the most moderate of times. It's hard to say what they were like at the worst of times, as such times have always prompted the people who score these sorts of things to grab their hats and mutter something about moving to the Kurrs.
It seemed that these, however, were at least close to the best of times. Prontus's package was to be picked up from a village that was readily accessible through the main road through the mountains, the winds were rather forgiving at the moment, and there had only been two attacks by bears thusfar, both of which were barely taller than ten feet. All and all, a remarkably pleasant trip through the mountains.**
That sounded about right to Freak. Settling in the guild city takes a fair amount of lunacy; settling in the mountains outside of Ash takes something else all together. "We don't go straying from the main road, we might keep it that way." He had been finishing his second mug of ale when he heard Pontus talk of needing men with grit and muscle, and is there a better way of describing Maufr'kael? Well, Maufr'kael of thirty years past, maybe. But that was an age the old nadrask yearned to live again.
Olo smiled at the man. "Oh you should have been there. It was that mage field trip a while back. We were just supposed to escort some children, but it turned into so much more. For example our first rest stop ended in us fighting a cultist horde from an abandoned mineshaft to stop them from stealing the children away using some magic. Good adventure...less good for the kids' psyche though..." It was at this moment that Nervada's lightning thief was used in the arena. Olo stumbled a bit then cast flight while he recovered.
Freak clenched his teeth against the butt of his cigar, having little to comment to make about adventures in babysitting. Junior stopped to sniff at a wildflower, but the man nudged the chimera on with a soft kick from his boot.
Olo looked ponderous for a moment, "I believe so. although several of them did have some serious issues along the way...and watched a lot of people die very violently...and I think one of them turned out to be part demon. But it ended in a spectacular fashion. So maybe they came out alright. I honestly have no idea..." He decided to float along with the carriage 'laying' in the air as he flew along.
Olus watched as the the strange garr began to float. His eyes widened with longing. "That is truly fantastic magic my friend. I would enjoy this gift, perhaps I will secure it one day. I have a great interest in magic!"
Olus makes a mental note to learn to fly with magic one day. "wonderful indeed! I recently joined up with the mages to help me in the furtherance of my craft, I look forward to the days ahead indeed... Are you a member?"
Olo's face looked like it was going to agree, then it seemed to shift "Actually, I seem to have forgotten to join them. Although looking at it now, for me to master what it takes to get farther with my magics, I will need access to their teachings. So I will probably be joining them shortly after we finish here." He finished smiling.
"You seem like an interesting person. And I do believe that we have not given introductions. I am Olo Eopia. This is my friend and traveling companion Damek. As you may have guessed, I am a mind mage, among other fun things." Olo said casually.
Olus grinned at him. "I am Olus the Panda and this is Pharaoh." He said, gesturing to the Panda trotting along at his side. "Glad to meet you both, I am interested in all kinds of magic, but I've been focusing mostly on body magic lately... Among other fun things..."
"It is indeed a pleasure to meet meet you. Would you like to see a trick? It will involve your little friend there." Olo asked Olus with a friendly smile.
Olo gave him a light smile and a dismissive hand wave. "No worries. I promise I will do him no harm." With that, Olo lands and double cast telekinesis and began to use it on Pharaoh. Using his knowledge of bardic dancing, Olo creates a dance for him and the small panda using tk to control the limbs into the proper positions while he takes lead. After a brief performance, he turns back to Olus, "Tada! Your panda is one fine dancer." He said with a grin.
Pharaoh barks a bit of protest but other than that complies. Olus let out a hearty laugh at the display. "Perhaps we should take you on the road eh Pharaoh?"
Olo smiled. "Yeah Pharaoh, with a little training I could help you become a fine dancer. Just imagine..." He squatted down next to the panda as he spoke and waved his hand in front of the panda towards the horizon "...your name in lights, and the crowds cheering for you." He began a whispered chant "Pharaoh! Pharaoh! Pharaoh!"
