Scribe- If you head through those doors over there, you will be taken up to the Survey Offices. You'll want the second door on the left once you get out.
**Loire nodded her head and set off to the doors indicated for the Survey Offices, all the while taking a moment to glance at the second arrival when it seemed she could most likely go unnoticed.**
The furtive glance backwards showed her a man almost six feet tall clad in a silver long coat and spectacles, shock white hair streaked with flashes of emerald and jade. He looked elven, but her gut told her that wasn't the whole picture. The door indicated by the scribe led into a tiny room with barely room enough for a half-dozen people to stand. As soon as the pair were inside it lurched upwards at a speed that felt magical, the jerking stop was less magical and tossed both passengers on to the stonework of the spire's eighth floor.
**What time Loire would have had to be curious about the stranger was cut short by their sudden lurch upwards, the motion not exactly comforting for someone as small as she was.**
Loire - *Ugh* How unceremonious... that contraption cannot truly be meant to work like that.
The silver clad elf seemed to have pushed himself up quite quickly, obviously no stranger to being knocked off his feet. He held a hand out to offer Loire help.
Falthor- I think I heard someone muttering about repairs, they used the word 'again' about five times.
Falthor shrugged, rapping lightly on the door. A rather distracted voice from inside muttered something about coming in. Falthor twisted the door kknob and pulled the door outwards, allowing Loire to see a rather disorganised mountain of papers behind which was visible a similar scribe, tall and broad but incredibly disheveled.
A cold and bruise-covered Marius entered the Spire. He walked over to the main desk.
Marius - Is there still time for me to sign up as a guard for the surveying job? I would have been here sooner, but there was a nasty hailstorm outside of the city
Scribe- Ah, hello there. Are you dropping off a report or here about the guard duty.
Falthor- Guard duty.
Scribe- That report was supposed to be here by three.
Falthor- It's two, sir.
Scribe- Oh.
---
The main desk was staffed by a man with his hair in a tight bun.
Scribe- You should be fine, I think they only have two volunteers so far. Go into that room over there, hit the 8 button and then its second door on your left.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Loire - (Pleasantly whistling).
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Behind Loire- (Accompanying hum).
Loire - There was a request for capable individuals.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Scribe- Are you both here about accompanying our surveyor?
Loire - You sound unsure, but yes, that is the case.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Behind Loire- Thank you.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.

Loire - Thank you. Name's Loire Eiriko.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Falthor- Falthor Aranthime. Nice to meet you, Loire.
Loire - Pleased to meet you, Falthor. Shall we move before anyone else is dumped at our feet?
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Falthor- Probably a good idea. Second on the left wasn't it?
Loire - This is a really odd building, I don't think I've ever actually been here that I can remember.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Falthor stopped in front of a door that had 'Agricultural Census Office' engraved on a plaque at its center.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Loire - Hello.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.

Marius walked over and entered the room. He pressed the eight button and waited.

She hands over a stack of papers.
