Juris - I'd say it's no more wrong than a blacksmith that takes metal and creates a shield or sword from it. I actually believe that there is a merchant in Elexia that has managed to get his hands on a Machinist device that can do something similar. Using your magic to make money is very similar to using most any other acquired skill to make money. Though, I'd probably ask for permission from an elder in the Academy before tried to do something like that, if I were you. It always helps to get the okay before you do something if you're worried that it might end up getting you in trouble otherwise. If that's an acceptable answer for you Gem, then I'll move on an answer another question from another student.
Juris - I'll do my best to answer this question, although I must tell you that I've wondered the same thing for a while now and you'd likely find a clearer answer based in better knowledge if you asked one of the higher ranking Mages in the academy. Well to begin with, many of the more powerful standard spells are dangerous and can easily cause harm if used do just that. The reason that the ones available for sell for a Mage specializing in Fire magics might seem to be even more obvious in their capability to hurt others, is the fact that fire itself is an obviously dangerous element. The most likely reasons I can think of at the moment for why obviously dangerous spells are available to the public are that Bakara is a dangerous place and spells that can hurt people can be used to protect oneself from any of the numerous monsters or other dangers of the world if the need arises, and if a person purchased a spell that can cause harm to others and then used it in that way, it's easier to find out who they might be than if they happened to steal the knowledge some other way. Oh, I just remembered another valid reason why they are available for sell. For the knowledge in a field of magic to grow, it's very valuable for field to be explored. You never know when someone will realize something about an Art that hadn't occurred to anyone else and new breakthrough is made, which is why making many different spells available to many people can be seen as a way to accelerate the process. Now, I don't know if Bakara would be better off if access to dangerous spells was more limited, but those are the reasons that come to my mind of why they are likely available at the moment to most everyone.
Mage- Sounds like you did well. Would you be willing to come by every couple of days for a while? Until we can get our normal teacher back on her feet.
Mage- We don't want to worry them unnecessarily... she has a condition, it can be treated with a combination of rare herbs. We've run out and she's slipped into a deep sleep. We have healers with her but we really have to wait for some skilled herbalists to find the herbs we need.
For as long as Juris is not on any other tasks or quests, he can show up at the Mage's Academy and perform as a substitute magical ethics teacher. He will receive 30 gold for each visit, and be informed if he is taking liberties with the pay system.
Olo arrived in front of the Academy as Nervada was leaving. Olo gave his brother a hug as he got the 12 gold he needed from him. "Thanks again bro. We are so close to getting to full Link. I am super excited!"
He then continued in and approached the first official looking person he saw. "Greetings! I seek to join the mage guild. Can you help me with that?"
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.

Juris waited around the room to see if anyone else was going to enter it. If no one did, he left.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Juris - Ah, hello again.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
