A single white mana trickled back into Avadur's mana pool.
Avadur watched in awe as the angel burst into flames right before his eyes. Before he could speak, a large wave of fire flew towards him, singeing his expensive robes. "Impressive..." He muttered under his breath. "This time, though, you'll need more than just cheap pyrotechnics to take me down." He performed a quick ritual and summoned an Abbey Gargoyle.
Damian realized that the gargoyle could not be melted by his flames or electrocuted while he regained a little mana back. Deciding to switch tactics he concentrated his assault on Avudar. He fired a bolt of lightning along with a small lance of flame both at the same time.

A single white mana trickled back into Avadur's mana pool.
Avadur's robes burned twice more, now charred to the point of unwearability. The smell of smoke filled his nostrils. He sighed, puffed out a ring of smoke, and sighed again. He was weak now, but managed to shout, "Attack, my beast!" The gargoyle creature lunged at Damian.

I disagree. It puts every player at a huge disadvantage if NPCs can use whatever spells they like from every edition while PCs are limited to the rules.
They should have the exact same limits as PCs. NPC planeswalkers aren't any different from PC planeswalkers except they might be higher levels.
Basically: Everyone in the project's world should be bound by the same rules. Otherwise the rules are meaningless and exist only as shackles instead of as a framework.

Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
thats a bit of a huge advantage. I mean yeah we know out of game that he's an incredibly powerful planeswalker and obviously has a level or two over Damian, but having access to previous editions that aren't in the rules seems a bit too much.
As the stone creature bashed it's head against Damian, he let out a yell of how much pain he was in. This was starting to get dangerous, he never had this much trouble over a target. As a small amount of red mana returned to him, he had to try and end this as quickly as possible.
"You know, you're becoming a real pain in my ass. Since your guard dog is preoccupied now is a good time to strike!"
Rushing past the Gargoyle, Damian slashed Avudar.

The main reason is because it takes more time for me to find spells from the Planeswalker's plane when I could just look for ones within their color(s). As far as flavour goes, it could just be explained by saying they've traveled and acquired the spells, but I understand the point about it being unfair to use cards from sets no real player can use.
A single white mana trickled back into Avadur's mana pool.
Avadur winced in pain, but endured the hit. He stumbled a little before he managed a few words. "You...won't...defeat...me..." He saved his energy and remained slightly hunched over.
Damian felt the mana enter him as he stumbled back. He was getting tired, and he was running low. He couldn't tell if he was close to winning or if he was just in as much trouble. Either way he wasn't done yet and started concentrating. Ok, not a lot of mana left and he's got that stupid gargoyle on the defensive again. I need to make these next spells count somehow. This is going to suck...a lot. Damian composed himself as his thoughts race to to give him the most impact for what little mana he had left. The options weren't that great, but he was going to have to make do with what he had. Channeling his mana into his blade, Damian stabbed it into the ground, and he started to push some of the mana he had into created a large rift of flame that consumed both planeswalkers.
"Your right, I'm not going to defeat you. Defeating implies letting you live."
He was angry at how sloppy he was getting and decided to channel his anger into flames. There wasn't much left for him, and he had exhausted his mana pool. He had to wait for another attack from the gargoyle in order for him to get in his own physical attack and he wasn't looking forward to another bite from that stone mongrel.
"No! No you are not going to beg for your life...We are going to finish this with your death. However there is something you can tell me: who is A. Venakus?"
Damian was angry. This wasn't going to be a standstill, this was going to end with him killing his opponent and collect his reward. But he was getting tired, his mana was depleted and that gargoyle was still a threat.
"Some friend. He's the one that wants you dead, not that there isn't others that want you dead. Now stop stalling and let's finish this. I'm not one to go soft on a target when they've weakened."
Damian smirked as he was leaning on his Talwar. He was mostly talk at the moment but he was planning on going through with what he said when he can.
"So do I, and yet somehow I look less like a monster to the people than you do apparently. Then again I get paid to kill willingly, you on the other hand seem to kill when you feel like it. I might be doing Ravnica and wherever else a favor by killing you."
Damian stood up and pointed his Talwar at Avadur, smiling menacingly at his prey. This was it, he gained his second wind and he could feel his ties to the mana slowly reconnecting. He just needed a little more time and he'll be able to finish soon.
"Now then...I believe it's your move in our little "duel", merchant."
Avadur smirked. The wounds on his body began to heal at a supernatural rate, the once burned and bruised flesh now had a healthier appearance than before the battle had begun, and it glowed a much brighter white. "If what you want is for this brawl of ours to end," Avadur said, "You should've just said so." An enormous pair of wings sprouted from Avadur's back. His hair tripled in length and luminosity. "I am no monster, you fool." Avadur laughed. "Far from it."
This was not something he was expecting and it put him in an even worse situation. Well, I wanted a challenge and now I got it. Regain composure and try not to show fear, if you go out you go out in style. He opened his mouth but realized he can only say one thing and on top of that it wasn't witty or insulting enough for what he was seeing.
Sorry I was out of town and I wasn't expecting this to be updated for a bit due to the holiday and how hectic it's made thigns for people.
Also doesn't he have to make an attack role sense he's a planeswalker as well?
Damian raised his blade to defend himself and bracing for impact. Many thoughts were racing through his head, most of them were strategies that involved either escaping or if it was possible, finishing off Avadur. As he felt time slow still only one thing was on his mind: death. We're going to end this one way or another...Well it was a good life while it lasted.
Well I'm basically being dramatic but I'm just asking if he has to make an attack roll on me since again he's also a planeswalker, or is this something different since he's also an angel?
He's just a 10/10 white Angel creature now. He'll only become a planeswalker again if you don't kill him.
Oof this is bad then.
Unfortunately he was unable to block the sword strike from Avundar due to his unnatural speed. The sword plunged into him and for a brief moment, Damian felt like the end had come. No witty retorts and no strategies came to mind which was telling him to scream in pain.
I'm going to assume that Caex will come in and save you, so I won't roleplay anything until he does.
I'm hoping for the same thing, if he doesn't though don't worry about it and keep going. If my character dies then I just make a new one after BETA or if I'm allowed to still participate during BETA.
