I assume you're prepping your Round 1 action (since you're going first anyways).
Assuming I don't die before my next turn, I'm going to blow my remaining spell slot to shoot at the female cultist with a ball of thunder. After this, it's only cantrips for me.
I'd like to see if I know anything about the zombies' stats.

We'll call this Arcana maybe? Sure. You know that zombies are easily to hit, slow moving, but hard to actually kill--there's a chance that what should be a killing blow won't actually kill them.

@Lucial--shamblers. Speed of 20. Even halfings with their adorably short legs get a speed of 25.
Surprise Round (Round 0)
Hoping to ambush the distracted cultists, the party has lured them into the divination chamber. The cultists, horrified to see the corpse of the spectator, never see the attack coming.
Probably because the dagger Reed threw went whizzing past them and skittered towards the back of the room, far out of their view.
Strathalmere, fortunately, has much better aim, shooting the male cultist in the back, killing him. Paravrax is also successful, channeling the powers of the arcane through his diamond to bring forth a mighty blast of lightning, hitting the female cultist for 15 damage.
Emeryn makes her way into the room, as Korvat fires an arrow past her towards the shocked cultist. The arrow misses, burying itself in one of the halves of the spectator corpse.
This ends the surprise round. Current Status:
Cult Fanatic 1: so dead, much deading
Cult Fanatic 2: 15 damage, hair rather frizzled, slightly smoking
Everyone else: whatever you were after healing from the last fight; I doubt this lasts long enough for the damage to matter.
My surprise round action is in post #918 and should be a level 1 ball of lightning with a hit roll of 17 that does 15 damage. The thunder ball with a hit of 20 and damage of 21 was for the first full round. Between the two balls hitting her in the face, she should be dead even if everyone else misses, though.

Reed flicks a finger at the female cultist, calling out "I think we may have broke your boyfriend!" as a distraction while a radiant flame drops down on her from the ceiling. Distracted by the taunt, she doesn't see it coming. It hits, dealing 5 damage.
She stumbles. "This," she says, gesturing to her companion, "is nothing compared to what's in store for your dwarf friend. And if you kill me, you'll never find her."
Pause for responses to her claim... Current Status:

Combat--Zombies
Lucial dashes past the zombies. Although a few of them don't seem to care, five of the eight take notice, but only four are close enough to matter. Those four get attacks of opportunity as he dashes by. He dodges the first one, unfortunately stepping into the path of the second, which slams him for 4 damage. Reeling from that hit, he fails to notice another zombie as it slams him for another 4 damage. Shaking it off, he dodges a fourth attack and escapes the room.
The five zombies who noticed begin moving to the opening in pursuit. The rest of the zombies pick up on the noise and follow the herd.
I seriously doubt they could hide her from us, and while all the others have been committed unto death, THIS one wants to talk. It's got to be a trick.

@kaburi: If I turn to talk to Reed, does that consume my action?
Paravrax turns to Reed.
"Even if she is telling the truth and knowssss where Dieknuh is, that doesn't mean that she'll be willing to help us. Besides, her friend there almost killed Strathalmere outright. We're better off dispatching her and looking for Dieknuh ourselves than leave a loose cannon alive, especially if we want to be able to rest peacefully at any point."
In the corridor, Lucial comes upon two wooden doors leading south (both of which open into room 23), neither of which are locked. There is also a wooden door at the western end of the corridor (leading into room 22) which is locked.
Interestingly, the zombies are unable to pursue him. They stand in a cluster, but do not seem to be able to cross the threshold into the corridor.

Reed smiles at Paravrax, and whispers back to him. "Of course she has to die, my friend. We could never take prisoners out here, and I'm afraid I can't afford to spend any more magic right now. I doubt these fools could hide anything so well Strathalmere or myself couldn't find it. I found a secret passage they knew nothing about within two minutes of walking in the front door."
He looks over to Strathalmere. "Send her our response, would you?"
Paravrax nods at Reed, smiles at Strathalmere, and looses a ball of thunder towards the cultist. (hit roll of 20, 21 damage as rolled in post 928 for this round)
Apologies for the delay, I didn't forgot to put the XP in my notes so I had to wait until I got home to wrap up combat, then promptly forgot about it until now.
Round 1b
Strathalmere fires an arrow, but it misses the mark. Paravrax's ball of thunder, however? Liquifies the cultist's bones, tossing her limp corpse back against the right half of the spectator corpse.
This ends combat.
Both cultists are dead, the four of you in the fight each get 225 XP.
Reed retrieves his dagger, and takes the daggers from both cultists.
Looking around at his companions, he looks puzzled. "Where is Luan?"
Sighing, he says "Paravrax and I are spent for the day, we can't afford to go looking and run into more enemies. Let's head back to the passage and rest. Luan should know where to find us."
Reed heads back to the Secret Passage we discovered to rest. I put a Prayer of Healing into the ring, filling it (3 Cure Wounds, 1 Prayer of Healing).

Paravrax follows Reed back to the secret passageway. Before settling in for a rest, he turns to Ger'Cath, realizing he forgot to ask this earlier when the party was in here the first time.
"I forgot to ask this earlier, but are you able to detect anything magical at this altar?"
@Strathalmere--You recover two arrows. From among the shattered remains of the female cultist, you find a silver key. There's a paper tag attached that says "Inquisitorium". Between the two of them, you also find 28 silver.
Assuming I don't die before my next turn, I'm going to blow my remaining spell slot to shoot at the female cultist with a ball of thunder. After this, it's only cantrips for me.
