In the clarity the tank brought, Shirin sought for a description to what she felt... she suddenly started to realize that it was not only clarification on the subject of magic she desired, but also something more primal, she wanted love. It was very odd, for she had never really understood the emotion of love, but somehow she realized this was also in her mind, churning in the maelstrom like all her other thoughts...
Hundreds of thoughts swirl through Shirin's mind, each struggling to stand out. Eventually she is able to calm down; focus on what she truly wants.
She wants answers. She wants to know if magic is real or not. She wants to know why she's in here. She wants to know how Whitney got to be so hot...wait what? Shaking her head slowly, Shirin attempts to refocus, before something in her mind clicks.
Shirin's heartbeat gets faster and faster before a tingling sensation consumes her senses, a cold fire flooding through her body. As strange as the idea sounds, that's the only thing that makes sense. The icy inferno sweeps through her, awakening every nerve in her body, hieghting her senses to razor's edge. It was if she was radiating a bright cyan light, engulfing her before everything fades to black.

Shirin awakes in her room, and nothing seems like it has changed in the slightest...except...
"Well, you've awakened...what can I do for you?" A voice echoes in your mind, similar to Whitney's message directing you to the cafeteria that morning. It's strange, but...familiar. Almost like she knows the voice in her mind (although she hasn't heard it before in her life.)

Shirin tries to sit up, while completely overwhelmed by all the sensations still rushing through her, and then also by the voice... Slowly it ebbs away a little, and finally she manages to think somewhat clearly and asks, while her eyes slowly adjust back to the lighting of her room "Who's there?" It was a weak voice that sounded, shy and powerless, this was getting all too weird.
"Well...I'm a voice in your head..." As if that wasn't obvious already. THe last thing Shirin needed was a disembodied voice with built in sarcasm,
"Seriously? Just think of me as a friend. The one friend you can talk about your abilities with.
Now, you're probably gonna want to lock your door if you can, as this may be a bit...much."

Shirin sighed, and checked the time on her clock, dad would usually get home at 7 pm, and mom would have dinner ready just a few minutes later. She needed to know if she had time. Meanwhile she asked "So where the hell did you come from anyway?!" Shirin was pissed, something very unusual, all the rushing events weren't good for her temper.
"Long story...if I had to explain it, you wouldn't understand. Just know that I'm tied to you no matter what. Might as well get used to it."
Shirin looks at her clock and sees she has about 40 minutes before her father gets home. Enough to experiment at least.
"So...what do you want to know?"

"Well..." Shirin thought hard as she turned the key of her door, now she had the chance to ask questions she'd better take it. She picked an easy one first "So... I can do magic right? But how, how did I get this opportunity, while others cannot? Is it just chance, or is there more?"
"You just won the genetic lottory, nothing more. Of course, if you want to go back to your boring life..." The voice leaves that thought linger for a minute before continuing.
"Anyway...right now your magic is very weak. Aside from your few water tricks you really don't have anything. We need to fix that. Check the top drawer of your dresser."
You have no clue where this is going but your gut tells you to go with it, for whatever that's worth.

After a brief pause and realizing that the movie reference went totally over Shirin's head, the voice clarified.
"I have no tangible form, so effectively yes, I'm just a voice in your head. That may change at some point but for now that's all." the voice seems somewhat confident, yet a touch impatient. Reminds you of Whitney to be honest...
"Anyway, you wanna learn how to work this or not?"

"Sure." Shirin said, though there was a trace of doubt to be found in her voice. She went to dresser and opened the top drawer, wondering what she would find.
It didn't take long for Shirin to find what she was looking for: a cyan blue crystal, held as a pendant on a fine silver chain. The crystal itself was a sparlking blue tarus-shaped jewel (think washer-shaped).
As the girl picked up the pendant, she noticed two things. The first was that the pendant was refreshing cold to the touch. The second was that every time her skin grazed the thing, it sent a small jolt of energy up her spine. It wasn't at all painful, almost pleasant, sharpening her senses and making her more aware of her surroundings.
"Now, what you need to do is focus. Concentrate on everything you want, and put that want into the charm on the chain. It'll do the rest."
As ever the voice is being fairly cryptic, but at the time you don't have anything to lose...

Shirin fingers clutched gently the cold silver, and she was immediately in love with it, for she liked silver. For a moment her attention lingered just on the pendant, before the voice's words dawned to her. She thought deeply... The context of her desires weren't so clear to her yet, but Shirin knew that she at least wanted to know what she could do with her newfound powers at the moment. There was also something else, something too big for her to comprehend... it confused her, and it was on her mind even as she concentrated to put her desire of magical power into the charm. She forgot a detail about her 'dream' with Whitney in it, and desperately her young mind tried to remember it. Why was her good memory failing this time?
Shirin clutched the necklace in her hands, her eyes closing, her mind deep in an almost trance-like state of concentration. The working of her memory consumed what little brainpower she had left over, frantically scouring for anything she may have missed...There!
For a split second, Shirin is able to recall the vivid memory she was so desperately trying to find. As soon as she remembered it, her body was consumed by a flood of blissful euphoria sweeping through her senses. Her body felt light as a feather, pain and fatigue evaporating from the girl's body. A strange but welcome chill filled her body, every fiber of her being awakening to its touch.
When Shirin could finally open her eyes, she could tell that there was obviously something that had changed. Gone was the silver necklace, a tall staff in its place. The thing looked to be pure silver and about three feet tall with a balled end at its base, a cone flaring out at its head. Above that sat an arcing piece that held a teardrop-shaped crystal beneath it, half-filled with water.
The water swashing back and forth had an oddly soothing effect on the girl, having finally regained her bearings. Of course that was only the first sudden change, looking in the mirror revealed something else.
In addition to the staff, the girl's wardrobe had been completely changed. Her current outfit consisted of a deep blue collared shirt and light gray vest replacing her old shirt. The material was soft, almost like silk, yet elastic enough to stay against her body. She also had a beige skirt that just reached past her knees, white sneakers and navy blue socks that stretched up to her calves.
With the new clothes and staff, Shirin remembered just how beautiful she was, if she ever bothered to make the effort to maintain it. She also remembered why she felt so attracted to Whitney before...but she couldn't describe the feeling, it was so awkward...
"So, what do you think?"

"Weird... but cool." Shirin said as she looked at herself in the mirror. However, her mind thought always of every thing, including any repercussions "Is there an Off switch too?"
"Yep. Just concentrate about going back to normal and it'll work. But for now you're gonna want to keep it on." You absentmindedly note that while it's different from your standard fare, there's nothing about the clothes that screams "magical girl"
"Right. So what do you know so far about what you can do?"

"Not much, I can imagine a bit what I can do with more training, but I haven't had the opportunity to test limits yet, you know..." Shirin was trying hard not to make talking to a voice inside her mind sound awkward, but it did.
"Well, now might be a good time to test them then. Of course, there are some things that will be more difficult than others" The voice seems ready to drone on, but Shirin will let it do so.
"Your best field is mental magic. Reading people's minds, dredging up memories, even wiping someone's personality. It's tough to master, and obviously you can't practice that kind of thing solo." Frankly you don't really think you'd want to.
"What you can practice is conjuration, the art of creating things; aquakinesis or being able to manipulate water; and abjuration, that's shielding and protective magic. Each one is similar in its execution, but you'll want to be able to make sure you can differentiate between each of them. What do you wanna start with?"
The power to create, to protect, or to control water...the fact that she can even do so is almost mind-boggling.

"Um... I've always been interested in water, could we start with that?" Shirin asked. She had decided to cooperate even though she had little idea of what to expect.
"Well, best to start with the basics..." the voice says before getting serious.
"I think you know this, but focus is key for any spellcasting. Any strong emotion will work, as long as you put your heart into it. As for moving water...you can transfer it in and out of that teardrop crystal. If I were you I'd start with like a whip or something, simple stuff. Just will it to happen and don't let anything distract you."
It seems a lot simpler than it probably should be, but there's really not gonna be anything to do other than to try it.

Shirin started simple, bringing her hand close to the crystal and then focusing, willing the water within out into the palm of her hand. In that moment she deafened herself from all sounds and shut her eyes, concentrating only on the task at hand.
Asshirin focused, she could feel the warm energy pulsing through her body once again. Mentally directing t into the staff, the girl put all her though into giving the water life, allowing it to act on its own...
She felt a chill on her cheek. Opening her eyes, Shirin saw a small sinuous tendril of water stroking her face; Responding to her mystical powers and acting on her subconscious will. If that couldn't assure Shirin that this was real, nothing would.
"That proof enough for you?"

"Um..." Shirin tested further, trying to move the water around. When it responded, she was in her mind startled, but her expressions told nothing. Her mind and face focused, she continued, the water circling around her. Until she willed it to stop again, in front of her face. She then responded to the voice in her head "Yeah, I guess... What's next?"
"Well, shielding isn't hard, but seeing as you don't have anything to shield yourself from...let's focus on conjuration. It's the same process; focus on what you want to create, and will it into reality. Shouldn't be a problem..."
Well the voice seems really confident, but Shirin has a lot of misgivings. Something about this feels...off, but she can't place it.

Shirin felt the doubt entering her mind again, but as usual, she tried to hide it. It was not, in her opinion, the time and place to ask about it. Instead, she focused upon her training "Can I create anything? If so, is one thing harder than the other?"
She wants answers. She wants to know if magic is real or not. She wants to know why she's in here. She wants to know how Whitney got to be so hot...wait what? Shaking her head slowly, Shirin attempts to refocus, before something in her mind clicks.
