It changes once every four days, in a mini? And it's random what it changes to? That's stupid. I thought I saw people deciding on what the set the trump to.
Oh god I'm going to be alive until the endgame. Oh god.

I'm not convinced like everyone else seems to be. This would be a perfect scum ploy tbh. "Oh I can't be targeted at night - how convenient, it will appear that way since I'm the scum killing everyone" and "no one will try to lynch me because as TCM pointed out, my role is kinda better doctor-ish"
I'm not saying I'm necessarily suspicious of you, but I'm not enchanted and if you're bull*****ting I will see through it.

Counter-wagons look bad, but would not mean anything until TCM flipped. Simply because it would look like a scum buddy trying to provide a counter wagon to his own scum buddy getting run up. That is correct that the assumption would lie on TCM being scum. But you answer assuages any concern I may have had.
This seems awkward to me. I'll go with my gut and vote huntzilla.
You understand that this whole TCM vs. Iso thing has arisen because we determined that Huntzilla was unlikely to be scum, right?

To be clear I'm getting town vibes from Iso. I hope your claim to be a town face card doesn't make you convinced the other face cards are 100% clear. I think BE2 is riding your coattails, personally.
I suppose that would be the simplest way to check if Seppel is, in fact, being truthful.
No, I don't necessarily believe all other face cards are town - I just know that not all town cards lack faces.

I only agree if TCM flips scum, which would make them buddies. But if TCM isn't scum, then smoke certainly isn't. What post did you think was scummy? Because I liked the tone associated with his self-meta declarations.
Mainly, it was his vote and confirm vote posts. Though, I also haven't liked his overall tone.
Oh good, maybe you are town. RVS had me worried. TCM's RVS post pinged me, but you pinged me more - I was actually considering voting you before TCM took my Huntzilla bait.
How did you figure out that my main scum strategy is to come out and needlessly antagonize you?
Which is funny considering I have made maybe 3/4 posts, one of them the closest thing you will likely get to an RVS post from me. In addition, you clearly saw every post I typed before this current post. In fact, I posted my last post here, and the above was posted an hour after mine and quoting BF who had the post right afterwards. Why did you not commit a vote then, if you thought every post I had at that point was bad?
Yeah, I was still mostly being silly at that point and hadn't gone back to do any real analysis.

I mean, a lot of it was gut feeling. I thought TCM's arguing with Iso seems like town indignancy. I voted Hunt because he kind of went from 'counterwagons suck' to 'counterwagons aren't inherently bad' for no good reason and that post also seemed phrased awkwardly to me

Hell, if you don't have the patience or time for the first 10 pages, just look at his breaking of RVS. It's like black and white.

Can you maybe show me some examples of times where you've seen indignant town vs. indignant scum?
I can't be bothered boo Iso, boo.
Fine, I'll give you some examples, I just won't quote them because I'm lazy.
Void (scum) in The Walking Dead was scum and being lynched on day 1. He self-voted, was really resigned, and tried to appear very annoyed by his wagon. He didn't appear to scumhunt at all after he was cased and just sat there.
Tom (scum)in Dinosaurs tried a different approach. After I cased him, he started attacking me really hard even though his wagon was two people (one of which was scum). He seemed really eager to head off all criticism.
Dagaen (Town) in uPick was really annoyed about his wagon (rightly so) but continued scumhunting. His posts seemed genuinely like he couldn't believe that he was being lynched, but he kept hunting while making these posts. I pushed his wagon all game so, um, sorry dude you were obvious town.
Yeah, can't remember anything, sorry. Anyways, TCM in this game seems to be attacking the case hard but not too hard, hunting scum, and seems genuinely annoyed. Town.

I'm always hesitant to listen to meta info because I personally don't think you act differently because you're town or scum, I think it's because of your role in general. If I have an important town role im more likely to be quiet and try to avoid getting attention, or do the complete opposite to throw off scum. I don't know, maybe it works on other people better than it works on me, but I think people act differently simply because they've evolved and they are under a different set of circumstances. Other things could be affecting them in real life. They're town or scum. They have a different role. They have teammates or not influencing them. They are playing with a different host and set of people, the list goes on.

I agree that Meta shouldn't be used as heavily, but here on this site it is a large tool. There is a large playerbase that plays together a significant amount of time, and they use this to their advantage. Unfortunately I am still learning how to use this properly, so I have to sheep those that are better at it than I am. I generally pick the most experienced player in the game, and go from there.
But I don't like meta at all... I just see how useful it is for the experienced players.

Not really what I was looking for.
Can you explain to me why they were 2 separate posts, and what happened in the 4 minutes in between them?
Holy *****, I just looked at the first 10 pages of Castlevania and anyone who thinks B_E is scum here needs to go check that out, themselves. His tone is DRASTICALLY different between here and there.

Are you being serious right now? You expect me to drop all suspicion on him for the rest of the game because of his meta? Based on one game?
I honestly do not know where to begin to explain my problems with this line of reasoning.
In general I agree with your assessment of meta-analysis. It can be useful as a guidepost, but to lean upon it as a crutch (as I see it being used here all too often) seems awfully foolish to me. It can easily be misused, misinformed, and misinterpreted; as well as invalidated by simply playing differently, whether that be intentional or just a product of experience.
While I agree, I would also advise you to the same. I understand that you are being questioned fairly heavily at the moment, but that really does not excuse you from doing either of those (especially considering how brief your answers have been)
I am really terrible at it. But I will certainly try, though I thought I was...
I would like to believe Iso about B_E2s meta, but I really have a hard time seeing how he can be town right now. Calling people out for not scumhunting while he has posts that read like this
But TCM and his disappearance after being "trapped" by Iso is very telling to me.
Unvote
Vote TCM
Also, @Ocean black
Please post more. Your response to my question was good, but you've been absent since. I would like to hear more about your reads and analysis because of what you posted in your answer.
@Iso
I will most likely be sheeping you most of the game... or Seppel... He seems to be on point this game.
@Smoke
I agree with your points completely. I just have seen on this site people use meta all the time. I wouldn't go so far to call it a crutch, but it is a larger part of many players games than it should be in my opinion.
"
@Iso
I will most likely be sheeping you most of the game... or Seppel... He seems to be on point this game."
Please don't.
I actually still don't like that post from huntzilla. All of it is either points that have been raised or theory. The one new thing hunt seems to have added is the questioning of ocean about the counterwagon, which was retracted.
"
But TCM and his disappearance after being "trapped" by Iso is very telling to me.
Unvote
Vote TCM"
I'm not sure why you think that voting someone for what could easily be RL is a good idea. Anyway, TCM did respond to Iso's accusations.
I didn't say he didn't respond. I said he disappeared.
TCM is pretty calculating in his play, and while you are correct that it could be due to real world issues, I feel like TCM would try to fight against his wagon harder than just a response and a disappearing act. That seems out of character.
"I want to be very clear about what I am looking for.
Please explain your entire thought process behind these 2 posts."
I mean, a lot of it was gut feeling. I thought TCM's arguing with Iso seems like town indignancy. I voted Hunt because he kind of went from 'counterwagons suck' to 'counterwagons aren't inherently bad' for no good reason and that post also seemed phrased awkwardly to me
This is the section of the post you are referring to...
That all makes perfect sense.
Counter-wagons look bad, but would not mean anything until TCM flipped. Simply because it would look like a scum buddy trying to provide a counter wagon to his own scum buddy getting run up. That is correct that the assumption would lie on TCM being scum. But you answer assuages any concern I may have had.
It still states that counterwagons are bad. This particular one's validity would be made more apparent through a TCM flip. I suppose the wording is lax, but I again thought this was a good statement. I feel like you are misrepping me a bit here.
Also,
I called out Gan_Dan for something I find scummy.
I called out Ocean Black for what I felt was scummy.
I noted Iso for something I thought was scummy.
And I am on TCM now for his disappearing act.
That seems better than the average poster in this thread...
So,
What gives on your assertion I am not scumhunting?
"
Can you explain to me why they were 2 separate posts, and what happened in the 4 minutes in between them?"
Not trying to be a dick or anything, but there is a quote button. I can understand if you are posting from a handheld device, but could you at least try to include post numbers? The longer this game goes on, the harder it will be to follow what you are referencing.
I came to a decision that TCM was town,
fair enough
than I skimmed the thread again
in 4 minutes?
and came across that post that I didn't like.
What specifically do you not like about it? You said it "seems awkward", but that is a bit vague.
You understand that this whole TCM vs. Iso thing has arisen because we determined that Huntzilla was unlikely to be scum, right?
Actually, the TCM vs Iso thing was you thinking that the first wagon had to be a mislynch, and that somehow following you on came with the knowledge that I could force a "mislynch" on Hunt.

I like your thinking, but a lynch in just 3 days is so unlikely to happen around here, that I doubt it even crossed his mind. I wouldn't hold this minor carelessness against him.
Also, it's probably like 15 or 20 mafia*.
...were being "silly", without analyzing at all?

I'm not sold on Ocean.
Are the other three acceptable? Is Seppel the only person you felt warranted to respond to?

How is that post helping?
But TCM and his disappearance after being "trapped" by Iso is very telling to me.
1). Saturday was gameboard day.
2). Sunday opening the pool day
3). I work as a teacher in the morning, but am responding tonight, while also trying to 80 in PoE.
Considering the lack of votes, apart from a single shakey source, and Iso: I would hardly say I was/is trapped. Iso's "gotcha" tell was the equivalence of putting a mouse trap in the woods, and assuming the "snapping" sound was a mouse getting caught.
I will most likely be sheeping you most of the game... or Seppel... He seems to be on point this game.
195 posts in and you are positive that positive they are both town?
"Also,
I called out Gan_Dan for something I find scummy.
I called out Ocean Black for what I felt was scummy.
I noted Iso for something I thought was scummy.
And I am on TCM now for his disappearing act."
And yet, my action (or lackthereof) was the only one that got a vote from you. Why did none of those other actions justify even a pressure vote? I can only assume your vote on Dan was still RVS, or you don't realize wanting to break the RVS is completely irrelevant towards alignment.
I feel like TCM would try to fight against his wagon harder than just a response and a disappearing act.
In what world do you consider two people to be a "wagon"?
@TCM: No, if I were convinced that my trap were going to catch scum, there wouldn't have been the chance that I would then use you as level 2 of the trap. You just happened to conveniently blunder into it, which removed the need to go all Trapception on this game.
You are still going on the very bold assumption that not only did I fall for your trap, but I believed that I could lynch Hunt right off the bat. If I really had to, I could go back for statistics, but we both know the first wagon rarely occurs in a lynch off the bat.
I don't buy it. You didn't think Huntzilla was scum, yet you were willing to let me take the fall for the Hunt wagon if he flipped town, so you voted him, anyway? I don't see the town mindset in this.
At that stage in the game, I am not sure that anyone could be scum. I decided to press Hunt a bit, due to what I feel was overkindness. It's a technique I commonly use, especially if I plan on buddying scum. I realize hunting people based on my own scum habits is not the best strat in the world, but I thought it would be a good start.
Do you see the issue here? Rather than letting future evidence speak for itself, you fast forwarded to "TCM is scum, so he is trying to mislynch Hunt, then he could blame Iso for it in the end." How could you know at this stage that 1). Hunt would be lynched and 2). With enough certainty to lynch me, that Hunt would flip town?
As town, I'd expect you to not automatically assume that the person attacking you is town...which is what you appeared to do, based on the manner in which we've been exchanging posts. The Game is Afoot! Only in this last post of yours did you suggest the possibility that I might not be town, which I have to question the timing and reasoning of. Do you think I'm scum? Why or why not?
Again, I don't assume anything. Despite the stupidity behind it, the lack of cc's on Seppel make me feel rather confidant he is town. It would also make sense as it seems traditional roles limited to a single night in four would justify the existence of his static ability.
And yeah, I'd say a counter-wagon is the best way to avoid a Day 1 lynch, given that you just played the "my early game is weak" card. I had a pretty solid town read on you early on in XKCD, and I'm not at all getting the same feeling from your posts here that I did then.
Again, this isn't a card. It was an introduction post I gave no real weight to, but as something to pass the time. You know for a fact it is also 100% true, but I would like to believe I am getting better at it.
As a sort of OoG thing, I'm curious - in what way do I amuse you? The "court jester" fashion, or the "stand-up comedian" fashion? Or neither?
I really do think you are scum, but I can't justify it.
I'm mildly annoyed that you took the time to quote my post and accuse me while at the same time completely ignore my question. It's not a secret is it? For gods sake can someone just tell me who curse is lol? No one on the player roster by that name.
Fwiw, I think you could be scum but the reason I can't prove it is because you're hiding behind memes

Re: meta, I agree and won't be relying on it at all later in the game, but I think it's sufficient to supplement day one arguments. Until someone flips mafia/town and we can analyze their postsknowing whether they were genuine, we have no reference point whatsoever for who is being truthful 100%

Hell, if you don't have the patience or time for the first 10 pages, just look at his breaking of RVS. It's like black and white.
I expect everyone to unvote B_E in short order. I'll be white knighting him for the rest of the game, don't mind me.

Town.
Awwwww, thanks Iso.

Why is Curse particularly useless today?
Who is Curse?
First game on this forum, re #13
Burning town
Smoking scum
Ocean scum
Faeth comes from another site.
What's Curse doing to act up?
explain your reads

Seppel, be useful.
I'm not sold on Ocean.
I thought you said you remembered me?
Not really what I was looking for.
Can you explain to me why they were 2 separate posts, and what happened in the 4 minutes in between them?
I understand that you are being questioned fairly heavily at the moment, but that really does not excuse you from doing either of those (especially considering how brief your answers have been)
smoke_Killah
I am really terrible at it. But I will certainly try, though I thought I was...
I would like to believe Iso about B_E2s meta, but I really have a hard time seeing how he can be town right now. Calling people out for not scumhunting while he has posts that read like this
How is that post helping?
But TCM and his disappearance after being "trapped" by Iso is very telling to me.
Unvote
Vote TCM
Also, @Ocean black
Please post more. Your response to my question was good, but you've been absent since. I would like to hear more about your reads and analysis because of what you posted in your answer.
@Iso
I will most likely be sheeping you most of the game... or Seppel... He seems to be on point this game.
@Smoke
I agree with your points completely. I just have seen on this site people use meta all the time. I wouldn't go so far to call it a crutch, but it is a larger part of many players games than it should be in my opinion.
At least it came directly after some answers to questions. But no, it isn't helping.
"

I came to a decision that TCM was town, than I skimmed the thread again and came across that post that I didn't like.
But TCM and his disappearance after being "trapped" by Iso is very telling to me.

Vote TCM"
I'm not sure why you think that voting someone for what could easily be RL is a good idea. Anyway, TCM did respond to Iso's accusations.
@Iso

Please don't.
I actually still don't like that post from huntzilla. All of it is either points that have been raised or theory. The one new thing hunt seems to have added is the questioning of ocean about the counterwagon, which was retracted.
If I missed something, sorry.
I didn't say he didn't respond. I said he disappeared.
TCM is pretty calculating in his play, and while you are correct that it could be due to real world issues, I feel like TCM would try to fight against his wagon harder than just a response and a disappearing act. That seems out of character.
This is the section of the post you are referring to...
Not trying to be a dick or anything, but there is a quote button. I can understand if you are posting from a handheld device, but could you at least try to include post numbers? The longer this game goes on, the harder it will be to follow what you are referencing.
fair enough
in 4 minutes?
What specifically do you not like about it? You said it "seems awkward", but that is a bit vague.
smoke_Killah
Actually, the TCM vs Iso thing was you thinking that the first wagon had to be a mislynch, and that somehow following you on came with the knowledge that I could force a "mislynch" on Hunt.
These:
...were being "silly", without analyzing at all?
Are the other three acceptable? Is Seppel the only person you felt warranted to respond to?
In what world do you consider two people to be a "wagon"?
The GJ way path to no lynching:
You are still going on the very bold assumption that not only did I fall for your trap, but I believed that I could lynch Hunt right off the bat. If I really had to, I could go back for statistics, but we both know the first wagon rarely occurs in a lynch off the bat.
Again, I don't assume anything. Despite the stupidity behind it, the lack of cc's on Seppel make me feel rather confidant he is town. It would also make sense as it seems traditional roles limited to a single night in four would justify the existence of his static ability.
Again, this isn't a card. It was an introduction post I gave no real weight to, but as something to pass the time. You know for a fact it is also 100% true, but I would like to believe I am getting better at it.
More like tragic Greek Hero amusement.
