"You know how this ends, don't you?" John Dancer was drumming his hands on the table, waiting for the next round, and addressing no one in particular. Each finger was like a block of wood hitting the table. Jacqui was developing a killer headache. Dancer waited a moment, then when none of the others took his bait, he continued.
"If we're lucky, the cleaning staff will only find one body in here in the morning." Sister Christian moaned softly and rocked a little. "If we're unlucky, they'll have to call for three bodybags." Play had stopped; silence reigned. Dancer had a sad little smile on his face as he shook his head. "I've never been very lucky."
The Major set his cards on the table and sat back. He had the habit of rubbing the buttons of his shirt when he was nervous. He didn't like John Dancer, but something in the man's sadness seemed genuine.
"Oh, I don't know, Mr. Dancer. You zeemed rather lucky in 2008...what was zat, an 8-match winning streak?" Jacqui's head was pounding, and she wasn't feeling very conciliatory. "If I recall, zey called it the 'Tiny Rampage'." She chuckled, but it was without mirth.
Sister Christian sat up, re-appraising Dancer. "Wait, you're the Tiny Dancer? 43 career wins, with 32 of them knockouts?" Dancer looked at her, surprise mingling with disgust.
"Yeah, that's me. And only half as many losses. Big whup." He slowly shook his head at her. "My fans usually come with less...saintly habits."
"Oh, don't let her fool you, Mr. Dancer," the Major interjected. "She hasn't spent her entire life sequestered away from the world." He leveled his gaze at the nun. "Have you, my dear?"
Hollow-eyed, Sister Christian slowly shook her head.
"In fact," the Major continued, "your name isn't really Abilene Christian, is it?"
"No." The nun's shoulder's slumped. "How did you know?"
"The same way I'm pretty sure that Miss Bleu over there has never responded to the name 'Jacqui' before tonight. Because my name isn't Thomas Briggs. What I can't quite figure out is why Mr. Dancer isn't here under a pseudonym."
Jacqui Bleu looked scandalized, then angrily turned on Dancer. "Will you please stop wiz ze pounding on ze table?" John Dancer paused a moment, and then slowly let his fingers fall again in the rat-a-tat pattern. Jacqui brisled, then abruptly showed a card to the Dealer, who in turn took a card from John Dancer's hand. The Dealer ripped it into four pieces and whisked the pieces out of sight.
Dancer, Briggs, and Sister Christian all stared at Jacqui, who refused to make eye contact, staring at the Dealer, instead.
The game is now in Night 2, which will last until at least the Night Action Deadline, which is Thursday, May 14th, at 5pm EDT. Please submit all Night actions you wish to take by that deadline.
Note that Night 2 is only scheduled to be 48 hours, which is a departure from the original rules. I have made this change based on feedback received from multiple quarters; if you have a concern with this change, please contact me via PM.
Please do not post in this thread until Day 3 dawns.
Okay, so here's the deal. I win when all the cards that contain a particular suit are dead. At this point I leave the game and the game continues. I choose the suit before the game. I chose Clubs. I can kill when either Spades or Diamonds are trump. When either hearts or clubs are trump, I can visit a player and learn their suit. I killed BF on Night 1. This means that the mafia kill failed for some reason. My initial thought was that in the event that Iso is not mafia, it failed because they targeted Iso and used up his bulletproof. So I shot Iso Night 2. It failed. And in any case, I don't think Iso is third party because two neutral parties in a 12 player game seems too much.
Iso HAS to be the mafia and the mafia likely have a doctor who protected Iso. I don't know how this works on this site but in other sites I've played, mafia doc returns innocent to the gunsmith which sort of explains the presence of the gunsmith in the game. I also read through Cantrip's last game. There were 12 players, 2 mafia, 1 neutral, and 9 town. Iso was the neutral in that game.
My guess is that Iso claimed neutral to bait the real neutral into counterclaiming him so that he, the mafia can know who is a threat to them. This way they don't have to worry about the neutral killing them and can potentially roleblock them (I think this might be likely too once Iso figured I was neutral).
I'm almost certain Iso is mafia just because I don't buy his claim. I never bought it when he claimed either. I planned to get rid of him tonight but I was sort of pessimistic about it working but whatever.
I am very sure that there are only TWO mafia. GentlemanJohnny acting like there were three mafia is a massive towntell. This is what I meant when I said GJ was town but I didn't want to explain why. The presence of my role (a neutral third party) heavily points to two mafia and it seemed like everyone who didn't read Cantripmancer's last game and was unaware of the setup was townslipping like crazy. There was someone else besides GJ who did that but I can't recall. I'll go back and check.
I've pretty much given up on actively trying to pursue my wincon and just want Iso and his partner dead. If both mafia are dead, we can simply lynch club-players until my wincon is achieved.
Somehow in that wall I didn't mention my main point.
I am a neutral third party. I strongly doubt there would be two neutrals so Iso is definitely mafia. I assume he fake-claimed to bait the real third part into claiming.
There cannot be two hit em I guess. We don't have a mislynch though.
Ew, Oceanblack vs ISO today?
Iso shoots OceanBlack; if he was telling the truth, we lynch Iso.
At least one of them is definitely scum.
I sure did. Hoping to Roleblock him so he was unable to kill. Possibly I was successful in that endeavor.
I like this plan. Iso, please plunk OB with your daykill.
@OB
Why were you so adamant that all Neutrals die yesterday, only to turn around today and claim you are a neutral? This seems like a ploy to me.

The lights dim. A thrumming baseline builds in the background. A disco ball, of all things, descends from the ceiling as a section of the floor rises. Someone in a black tux leaps from the crowd onto the stage and starts thrusting his hips. Wild hoots and cheers erupt from those assembled as he starts a provocative striptease, removing his black bow tie and flinging it into the audience, followed by his cummerbund, and then the jacket. The white shirt is taken off one button at a time, revealing toned abs and a chest so devoid of chest hair it had to have been waxed. The socks come off before the pants, and finally the underwear.
Interestingly, he leaves his hat on.
"Major." Briggs looked up from his iPad. The Dealer was looking at him sternly. "Do I have to confiscate that from you to get you to pay attention to the matters at hand rather than watching cheap porn?"
"Uh..." The Major turned beet red. "N-n-no," he finally stammered. Sister Christian looked scandalized. The game resumed.

The next hand had hardly begun when the Dealer stopped. He looked at Jacqui Bleu.
"That card. That card right there. Hold it up. Above your head." Jacqui did as he asked. The Dealer reached into his vest and pulled out a normal playing card, then flicked his wrist. The card shot toward the one in Jacqui's hand, slicing it in two. Jacqui yelped in surprise and dropped the half still in her hand. The two pieces fluttered to the table, landing face up.

We are missing responses from GJ and Smoke. I would love to hear from them what they did and what they are thinking.
I have a hard time believing there are no mafia in this game. I think there is probably one given the two neutrals.
I would like to know Seppel's logic behind the B_E vote. Are you thinking he was scum trying to kill you?
We could go back to the KCC/Proph spot, because I do not believe that KCC was joking for a second when she thought she could kill us all on her wagon. She never actually responded one way or another after that, and replaced out because of other stuff going on. I wonder if that could be another neutral spot which would be mean NO mafia? I am not convinced but it is at least a lead...
Or we can lynch Iso and see if he survives, I can vig him tonight and see if he survives, and then lynch him tomorrow and see if that ends the game. It's at least a possibility.
Any other ideas?
@Iso
From your end, what would you like to see happen? Clearly you don't want to be lynched or vigged...

So where has the nightkill gone? Is there a cult? What does the subgame have to do with this game?
The Night 1 kill was OceanBlack's kill. Don't know if there's a Cult, but I'd believe it, what with no scum/SK flips and no extra kill floating around.
From what I understand, the subgame is basically people betting on who gets lynched and killed and that sort of thing.

I don't know how cults work other than the few times I ran into them on EpicMafia. Basically they convert townies until they have a majority and win? And you have to lynch the cult leader to stop the spread, correct?
@Iso: Why should we help you with your win condition, now that another neutral is dead?
I'd really like SK and TCM to come and post, but I think the best thing to do right now is to scumhunt while Huntzilla shoots Iso at Night. I have a difficult time believing that Cantripmancer deviated too far from the norm this game and with this huge amount of town power we can't start getting complacent about imaging zero-or-one scum configurations. We should approach this logically and try to analyze the gamestate thus far.
Hopefully Ocean will be one down.
If you had to put money on it, who would your guesses be?

..then this in response to Seppel:

2012: Best (False?) Role Claim - Worst Town Performance (Group) - Best Mafia Performance (Group) - Best SK Performance - Best Overall Player
2013: Best Non-SK Neutral Performance

2016: Best Town Performance (Group) - Best Town Player - Best Overall Player

I failed at reading. Sorry.
@Iso
From your end, what would you like to see happen? Clearly you don't want to be lynched or vigged...
I'll be sad.
OceanBlack shot me last Night. My Bulletproof shot is gone. I would appreciate it if you didn't also shoot me.
I'd like people to claim their actions and then lynch a face card.
This. I'd still also like a card claim.
