Hey Killjoy, it is possible for both Cythare and Karn to be scum.
And Axelrod for that matter but I'm not certain on that.
Ok, but we're at a bit of a time crunch right now. We need to figure out who we should lynch soon.
I recall seeing a case on Cythare somewhere. I'll review that when I get home tonight. I think one of Karn, Cythare, and Wildfire is a good lynch for today.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

Pros: Very logical. I liked a few of his posts.
Cons: Proposed a mass vengence trigger claim,
Conclusion: Not sure about him. I don't really have a background of knowldge to compare him to. I can't recall ever playing with him. But based on this game, I'd say leaning town.
fyi, I did not propose a mass vengeance trigger claim.
Here's a question: what would be your position on a "mass vengeance trigger" claim?
It was the last words of the last post you posted before today.
Why are you lying?
FOS Axelrod
Uh, that was not me proposing a mass vengeance trigger claim. That was me asking Seppel what would be his position on a mass vengeance trigger claim. Why aren't you reading?
And, fyi, the reason I asked him that was because Meggido was the person who first brought it up, way back when. Some people (including myself) weren't sure if that was such a great idea. If Seppel had come back and said he didn't think it was a good idea (because of his own personal vengeance trigger, for instance) that would have been a possible point of contradiction between him and Meggido. As in, why would Meg have brought it up if he knew it wasn't a good idea.
Seppel didn't say that though, so it's moot.

because everything he does feels like he's either being opportunistic, flaily, or doesn't actually believe it.
The only concern I have is that it IS pretty much 100% of his posts which are like that which points away from his being scum but I keep finding myself wanting to lynch him despite that.
HP was scummy, and KJ has continued to be scummy in his own way. I just suffered through an entire game of KJ as town, and his tone/demeanor couldn't have been more different in that game than it is in this one. Like seriously, nice FOS.

I was thinking Killjoy was scum from this post, bu the "we're at a bit of a time crunch right now" made me think he could've just not been thinking about everything else he was typing in this post.
Agreed. God, can we at least get a lynch/wagon rolling here? This Day has been going for around a month now, and I desperately need a flip for information.
1.You said I only listed one reason for being skeptical of Karn. That is not true. That is what you said that wasn't true.
2. I have nothing to say to this because I have no idea what you're trying to say. I feel you are just antagonizing me at this point.
3. Fair enough about it looking like I was trying to create a distraction. Why would I want to distract from your lynch, though? Are we a team?
4. What happened was other people commented about Sir Karn, and I was like, "yeah," so I changed my vote accordingly.
@Killjoy
Axelrod never proposed a mass vengeance trigger claim. Incidentally, earlier in the game, Rodemy voted for Axelrod because of Axlerod's stance against a vengeance trigger claim.
@Deathjoey
****************** I WAS NOT trying to create a distraction.
Fair enough that you think it looked like I was, though.
But back to my question of why on earth would I intentionally create a distraction? ... like why would you think I would try to distract from your lynch other than "it looked like it" As in, what would be my purpose?
Axelrod never proposed a mass vengeance trigger claim. Incidentally, earlier in the game, Rodemy voted for Axelrod because of Axlerod's stance against a vengeance trigger claim.
Unfortunately, Rodemy can't even remember what he had for lunch last week, so this isn't a point against Rodemy.
First of all, you can read HookerPunch's big 10 posts or whatever and see how scummy he was. As for Killjoy. You were just in a game where he has now flipped town. His posts here are absolutely *nothing* like they were in that game. I mean come on..he FOSed someone here.

No, it's not a point against Rodemy. It's a point against Killjoy. Killjoy accused Axlerod of instating this claim request, when Axlerod actually received a vote for speaking against the request. I don't know if Killjoy intentionally did this or not. I also wonder why Axlerod didn't bring this point up when defending himself.... maybe everybody forgot about this except me? iunno? So I was about to get on Cyan's case about pushing a meta read on a player that just replaced in, then I reviewed KJ's posts again and saw this:
11. Megiddo Seppel
Pros:I can't say there's a whole lot of posts from this slot I like.
Cons: Meg didn't do a whole lot. Seppel is now continuing that.
That is the opposite of what Seppel is doing. When I pushed on him, he actually provided a good case on Cythare.
unvote, vote Killjoy
I would also be willing to consider a Cythare lynch. No longer willing to lynch Seppel.

I will point out that 1. I'm almost positive that I've FOS'd at least twice as town, though it's been a while. 2. My tone changes based on the game. Look at a few of my other games, then see if my tone is different.
So I was about to get on Cyan's case about pushing a meta read on a player that just replaced in, then I reviewed KJ's posts again and saw this:

No, Seppel hasn't done much. You're taking something that's subjective and saying it's not. Stop that.
@GoDot: I noticed you said I said Axel was FOS, which implies that you thought it meant full of *****. In mafia, it means Finger of Suspicion. It's basically saying I think you might be scum, but do not wanna move my vote.

Seppel didn't say that though, so it's moot.
I'm reading. A question for you: Why does that specific contridiction point to a more likely scum!Seppel?
Well, any contradiction between what a prior player had posted and what his replacement posts can point to possible scum who missed something. This particular point was something of a long shot, because it wasn't necessarily going to be a "contradiction," but - hypothetically - if Megs had a Vengeance Trigger that was one of those triggers which would be publicly known when it was achieved, I think it would have been less likely for him to bring up the idea of a Mass Vengeance Trigger claim in the first place. That is common sense to me. If he had one of those triggers like some people seem to have that you're not necessarily going to know when someone has achieved theirs, then he more easily could have.
Seppel claimed he hadn't read the thread, which would presumably include the posts of his predecessor. If you replace in and you're Town you can get away with that, even if it's not the most helpful, but if you replace in and you're scum, you really can't. At a bare minimum you need to read what the prior you has already said because what if they already claimed something? When Sepp. copped to reading post #290 that was another reason I thought I might have been on to something because it might have shown that he was reading Megs' old posts, if no one else's. But, again, the fact Godot had that link in her sig. meant that Sepp. could have found it just like he said he did, and not because he was reading/studying Megs' old posts.
I've been kind of waiting for Cythare to come back and say something but he hasn't. I may go back to that wagon if nothing else happens before deadline. I'm kind of mixed on Killjoy.

My wagon is the only source of concrete information so far because everyone has been flighty as **** and wagons are constantly abandoned before the screw is turned.

2 - Basically, I said you two look like you could be working together, you suddenly realise that's what it looks like, and now you're working towards changing what people think.
The question is, why? I see distancing as a scum move, as scum ideally wouldn't want to be associated with someone they know will flip scum. Town however, won't know, and thus won't have any reason to create distance. In the event that they're scum, then as you said earlier you'd happily take a 1-1 trade.
Does anyone have any hypothetical situations where a scum member would want to distance themselves from a town player? I can't think of any and I'm curious.

The general tone of a 3-sentence post? I don't understand the more sold piece - I was comparing my read then to my previous read based on the question that was asked.

What stands out to you about Cythare's tone in that post over the tone other people have?
Are you expecting me to compare other, specific people? Because that's pointless. You should ask me how it compares to Cythare's town tone.
And even then I'd say that's pointless because dear god nobody talks like that and is town.
Have you played with me as town, aside from the BSG game where I was lynched D1 by you?
Re: 1029 (won't quote properly): I have no defense against this, because I'm a terrible town player.
I want to see what Sir Karn thinks of Seppel's recent posts, though I agree with Cyan (Seppel is showing conviction, which I'm not sure is present in his scum game?)
I don't have reservations against voting Cythare, so I'm willing to see where this one goes. He also hasn't really been active in the thread for about a week now, and I'd like to see him not be UTR.
Unvote; Vote: Cythare
@Axelrod: Your post will be coming, just need a block of time to respond to it. I think your defense + follow up is enough for me to not lynch you Today, and I checked a couple more games of yours and you were somewhat slow starting as well (Ataghan, CIM).
I'd been under the radar because the day was just starting to drag on - my activity was high when things were interesting. I'll try to be more active for the next few days - even if I'm likely to be the lynch due to the impending deadline. I'll review kj in a bit.
If I'm the lynch for toDay, keep an eye on WG. The post quoted at the top looks like an attempt to keep the door open for godot if Wildfire is town.

@Seppel - What's your stance on a mass name claim?
I'd be for it.
I have yet to see a recent Specialty game that wouldn't be cracked right open with a D1 mass-everything claim. (Except my Social Engineering Mafia 2, in which a D1MC would result in the town being put on a 2-mislynch clock.)
A recent trend has been for mods to say "A massclaim would be disastrous for your team, don't try it." When in reality that just means "the scum will get screwed over, please don't play optimally."
because everything he does feels like he's either being opportunistic, flaily, or doesn't actually believe it.
The only concern I have is that it IS pretty much 100% of his posts which are like that which points away from his being scum but I keep finding myself wanting to lynch him despite that.
yup.
I've noticed that it is a common belief among some of you that townspeople should be very confident and absolutely believe everything they say with a certainty. IRL I'm not necessarily a confident person. In this game, I know absolutely nothing. I have no information. I'm in the dark. How the **** am I supposed to be confident about what I say? Everything is a guess. Everything is an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless. It would be detrimental to stand 200% by every statement I make because it's possible I could be wrong about everything because I don't know. Scum know.
1 - Yeah sure, but I had to go back with a fine tooth comb to find where you mentioned any other reasons.
2 - Basically, I said you two look like you could be working together, you suddenly realise that's what it looks like, and now you're working towards changing what people think.

4 - meh okay.
1. I don't care. You were still wrong. You should probably drop this point because it's based on wrongness.
2. I don't know what his alignment is. I think it's scum, but I don't know. Of course I don't want to be seen as working with him because if he flips scum and you all think I'm working with him, well that sucks for me. I don't want to be seen as working with anybody because I don't know anybody's alignment. A 1-1 trade would be pretty towny IMO. I can't think of any situations where a scum would distance themselves from a town player, but I can think of a situation where a town would distance themselves from somebody else. Like all the time. Because we don't know what anybody else's alignment is and therefore it's dangerous to be seen as close with anybody.
3. You won't figure it out because there is no reason.
4.

I chose to bring up HP because I would have much rather lynched HP than you. As I said in my post where I actually brought her up, her posts are completely devoid of content and yours are not. Like I literally said that. You could have just read that. I wasn't pointlessly bringing her up. I genuinely thought she was more likely to be scum than you, and if she wasn't, she deserved to be lynched more than you because she contributed absolutely 100% nothing. I had no idea if you were scum or not. I couldn't tell, which is another thing I mentioned in that post.
:')
My biggest concern with this was that people wouldn't know it was an existentialist play and would think my username was "waiting for god .. dot." In case anybody doesn't know, it's pronounced gah-doe. And it's not about god. It's fantastic. Your life will improve significantly if you read or watch it.
Ok, but we're at a bit of a time crunch right now. We need to figure out who we should lynch soon.
I recall seeing a case on Cythare somewhere. I'll review that when I get home tonight. I think one of Karn, Cythare, and Wildfire is a good lynch for today.

A townie will never shut up about it and might eventually call someone into question.
A scum will try to find someone to attack right away (chainsaw defense).
I would totally white knight you, godot.
Cool! Link please?

I will point out that 1. I'm almost positive that I've FOS'd at least twice as town, though it's been a while. 2. My tone changes based on the game. Look at a few of my other games, then see if my tone is different.
So you did do this on purpose. mmmmm. >.<
You're right in thinking I meant FOS meant full of *****. Well, my first thought was ****able on sight... but then I was like......... nah. Probably not what he meant. Finger of suspicion. Got it.
You're arguing I'm what alignment now?
Please list everything I have done.
Uncultured swine.

Who do you want to lynch?

Actually, what meggido suggested was a Mass name claim, which is completely different from mass vengeance claim.
@Seppel - What's your stance on a mass name claim?
===
yup.
===
1 - Yeah sure, but I had to go back with a fine tooth comb to find where you mentioned any other reasons.
2 - Basically, I said you two look like you could be working together, you suddenly realise that's what it looks like, and now you're working towards changing what people think.
3 - The reason why is what I'm trying to figure out.
4 - meh okay.
I dunno, and at this point, it's all a bunch of wifom, so I'm going to leave it for now.
So tell me, why DID you choose to bring up HP, right when my wagon was forming?
Have you played with me as town, aside from the BSG game where I was lynched D1 by you?
Re: 1029 (won't quote properly): I have no defense against this, because I'm a terrible town player.

So I'm for a D1 mass-everything claim.
Yes, Celestial Mafia. (dare I speak its name)

Scum know.
