1)Why do you think I'm arguing you are the town player? It's like you faced with deciding if you are town or scum when a mirror is placed in front of you.
2)And what was your read on me ika? Not so easy to read people like us is it?
3)And be honest with yourself, if you were in my position now, forgetting that you know your own alignment here, a part of you would be loathed to let me score a win for scum. As much as you take pride in that fulcrum read, I take pride that I went with my gut and voted her to get you a hammer position. I feel I was a big factor in that swing for town after I got over the claim and saw the behaviour.
Sorry for the hydra slip, my other browser is playing up so I will make this the only post out of hydra and will next post when I can get back in.
1) i have had countless lylos where i had to agrue that i was the town player and the other was scum. after so many times i reacha point where i just no longer want to give effort if its in vain.
2) nah i had you pegged as town after asking a few questions. its rather easy to find your alignment by asking the proper questions. but i rather keep that trick to myself.
3) truth be told, not really. i grew fed up with the gamestate and how it stagnated and how i was at a point of agraunig with what looked like a brick wall. I do take pride in reading her so easily b/c it seems like many other players fail to see any diffrence most of the time. I however see right thought it. much like how you use your guts, i often use mine as well to do it.
I was worried for a bit but then town pulled through.
I need to stop getting in the rut of "town is better off when I'm dead" - if I were still alive I would have defended fulcrum for claiming doctor.
hawk is town MVP.
And i would of continued to have a huge fight with you and probally gotten into a debate on how a "vig-doc-masons" vs goon-goon-??? would ever fit in a basic to try and convince you
I don't have anything concrete, I feel like ika could have started out the game playing the perfect info of being scum buddies because his immediate suspicion of fulcrum makes no sense to me and she's never really his main priority as he's willing to lynch basically half the living players at any given time, but then there are also posts like this that make me think, would they really be that daring?
Gen/ant I haven't even found anything that feels very suspicious to me so far.
If I actually did this, a town player would have pointed it out and voted for me by now. That's a firm scumslip you're accusing me of, so the fact that you're acting undecided tells me you're blowing smoke because you have nothing. Go ahead and prove me wrong in your next post, or I'm voting for you.
You were being far to opportunistic in this post. Came across as you being afraid that you were in trouble even though ika was imploding. However, the implosion read genuine.
proph, the reason why i attacked you for you "lack of emotions" is b/c thats how i tend to read some players as well.
when i have players who have almost 0 emotions (titus for example) it becomes a gray area on wether they are town or not. a lot of your post to me come out "manufactured" and just feel like "heres a post"
truth be told i though you were some other player at first untill it was proph, the only reason i mostly ignored you is b/c i was still focus on fulcurm
Dirty little secret of this game: I didn't bother to actually write the role PMs until signups went up. I didn't need to - I had the short form of the setup completed, I knew what I was using for the italicized text (the Tournament dossier from the actual game) and I've had a lot of experience at writing role PMs. It had one aftereffect, though - I forgot to put the "you know your partner is town" line in the Mason PMs (had to add it in during the game).
There was one other mod error of note (besides the threaded PM issue that led to Antny223 accidentally receiving Generic's role PM and being allowed to hydra with him): I accidentally sent Iterated/Prophylaxis's role PM to NeonFrequency! Since they were both Town and not Masons, I was able to just switch the affected roles around without affecting the gamestate. (Yes, Neon, that "rerolled the players earlier" was a bald-faced lie - sorry about that, I thought it was a better solution than force-replacing you.)

”FenTech's finest creation, Malcom is an engineered warrior enhanced by chemicals. Adrenaline stimulants, synaptic catalysts, and impulse regulators combine to create a superhuman killing machine. ” - Tournament description
Welcome to Unreal Tournament Mafia, fulcrum! You are Malcom, current Champion of the Tournament and leader of the Thunder Crash team. To capitalize on your recent success, Liandri proposed a special exhibition match with a twist – three Thunder Crash team members (yourself and two other members of your choice) versus nine elite fighters. The twist? In order to even out the numbers disadvantage, your team has been issued special “mimic devices” – combination holofield generators and vocal modulators that make you look and sound like somebody else entirely – and given an opportunity to remove an opposing player from the match between rounds. It's still hardly a fair fight... but will it be unfair for you, or for them?
You are a Mafia Doctor. You have the following special abilities:

You may talk with your fellow Mafia members outside the game before the start of the game and during night phases using this QT. During each night, the Mafia may send one of their members to kill a target player.
Mafia Safeclaim – You know that Kyla, Necroth, and Kregore are not in the game and are safe for you to claim. Flavor for these safeclaims can be found in the Mafia QT.
Active Abilities:
Relic of Redemption – During each night, you may target a player. The first kill that targets that player tonight will fail. You may not use this ability on the same night you perform the Mafia kill unless you are the last Mafioso alive. (Yes, you may protect yourself with this ability.)
You win when at least half of all surviving players are Mafia, or nothing can prevent the same.

But there's a twist! In order to even out the numbers disadvantage, your team has been issued special “mimic devices” – combination holofield generators and vocal modulators that make you look and sound like somebody else entirely – and given an opportunity to remove an opposing player from the match between rounds. Your unique background and team-first personality led Malcom to select you as one of Thunder Crash's participants in a special feature match – three Thunder Crash team members (yourself and two other members of your choice) versus nine elite fighters. But there's a twist! In order to even out the numbers disadvantage, your team has been issued special “mimic devices” – combination holofield generators and vocal modulators that make you look and sound like somebody else entirely – and given an opportunity to remove an opposing player from the match between rounds. Generic and Antny can decide whether or not they want to publicize their hydra QT (I'm only posting the mentor QTs to show that there was no funny business going on).

Mod Thoughts:
Setup: This setup is fairly simple - it's a slightly modified version of the Friends and Enemies open setup from 'Scum. Friends and Enemies *can* be played at 12 (in fact, IIRC that's how big it used to be - the thirteenth player was added later when MafiaScum went to 13-player Minis), but I went with the 1-shot Vig to keep the numbers mostly the same as the 13-player version. Well, that and there was absolutely no way that I was going to leave a Redeemer-flavored 1-shot vig out of a UT game (Redeemers - usually associated with the "Nuked" kill method - commonly appear in my game, whether explicitly labeled as such or not).
The only two roles to undergo any change during the design process were Xan and Malcom. Xan was originally a JoaT with a few other abilities based on UT powerups (originally bulletproof shield [Shield Belt], 1-shot track [Invisibility], and a bodyguard shot; he had a double-vote [Double Damage] for a while) until I realized that was needless complexity and the right choice was to move the setup closer to Friends and Enemies. Xan was restricted to shooting on even nights for a while after that change, but Iso felt that wasn't appropriate for a Basic. Malcom was a trickier problem. He was a Strongman variant for quite a while, but that had problems (if he died, the Mafia might be gunshy about shooting power, and the Mafia needed some way of knowing it was safe to shoot power given the "all-power-roles-are-easily-confirmed-town" nature of the setup). When Iso nixed the Even-Night modifier on Xan, I also needed Malcom to serve as a limited counter to the Vig - Mafia Doctor was elegant and fit all the criteria, so that was the final setup.
The one mistake I made with the setup, IMO, was giving one of the Mafia safeclaims flavor that could be adapted to a power claim. Claiming power as scum is usually a bad idea in a Basic (almost all Basics have exactly three power roles) and at best will take a town power role down with you; it's even worse than usual here, since all the town power roles are easily confirmable. Giving something that even hinted towards claiming power as scum was a mistake. Speaking of that:
Play: For most of the game, this game came down to which faction did more to shoot itself in the foot. The Proph and NeonFrequency lynches were terrible - those were two of the three players actively trying to figure out the game, and the only reason the third (Hawk) *didn't* get lynched as well was because he drew one of the confirmable roles. If all of the scum had claimed VT, I suspect that they would have won no later than D4. But fulcrum claimed Doc and rogue softclaimed power, thus dooming both slots, and Generic chose correctly at LyLo.
This game was a complete pain to read and mod - it felt like what MafiaScum games have turned into, and there's a *reason* I don't play there these days (tried that in Dark Age of the Law, never again).
Town MVP: 7hawk77, for solving the game D2. Honorable mentions to Proph and Neon for putting in work and trying to solve the game.
Mafia MVP: KoolKoal, for playing competently and claiming vanilla and nearly winning the game because of it. Honorable mentions to Wildfire393 (for replacing into an impossible situation), fulcrum (who played solidly and nearly managed to fight her way out of a lynch after claiming the fourth power role), and ika42 (for making mislynches so much easier to achieve and demoralizing town - he'd have won this in a landslide if not for being correct on two Mafiosos).
I'm curious if there's anything I could have said that would have forestalled my lynch.
I think your best chance was to claim 1-shot Cop with a guilty (probably on name_left_blank or fulcrum)? I think you might have been able to pull it off - rogueofoz, IIRC, hadn't posted for the entirety of D2 so you might have been believed (not sure, given that the Vig was proven and the Masons were known to exist). It would only have bought you a day (unless maybe you claimed the guilty on Fulcrum, and even then you'd likely have died within two Days), but a day and a mislynch were about the best you could hope for in that situation.
These back to back posts make way more sense now lol
I thought I might have inched my way into your good-books again at the end of your last day. I was really tempted to leave you alive just because of that since we thought fulcrum was probably dead the next day regardless. (Then I realized we actually gained nothing by leaving you alive either way, lol)
Tare: thanks for the losing mvp. In the spec chat, I disagree with your stance on my 682 if you're talking about what I think you are.

Proph gets my mvp vote, witout his reads, I couldn't have solved the game.
Scum mvp is between Kk and fulcrum. It's weird because fulcrum claiming 8 things somehow fooled the town but it wasn't great.
Wildfire, there was nothing you could do. Thanks for replacing in though

You are Vanilla Town. You have no special abilities.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Please confirm via return PM.
Welcome to Unreal Tournament Mafia, ika42! You are Sarena, a member of the all-female Venom team. You're not entirely sure why you're in this feature match – you don't have a particularly large fanbase, so somebody must have pulled strings – and you feel a little out of your depth on this largest of stages. Having to fight an enemy disguised as members of your own team isn't helping.
You are Vanilla Town. You have no special abilities.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

Welcome to Unreal Tournament Mafia, WillTheBee! You are Harlin, a veteran bodyguard-turned-gladiator with a grudge against the NEG. In other words, a member of the Iron Guard. Your experience and dependable lethality led to your selection for this special feature match. But how can you kill your enemies if you can't tell who they are?

Factional Abilities:
Mafioso – You are a member of the Mafia, consisting of fulcrum (Malcom, Mafia Doctor), rogueofoz (Azure, Mafia Goon), and AtheistGod (Othello, Mafia Goon).
Please confirm via return PM.
Welcome to Unreal Tournament Mafia, rogueofoz! You are Azure, one of the finest fighters and technicians on the Thunder Crash team. You've had the benefit of the best training and equipment in every field from an early age, which has given you an edge that led Malcom to choose you for this special exhibition match – three Thunder Crash team members (yourself and two other members of your choice) versus nine elite fighters. But there's a twist! In order to even out the numbers disadvantage, your team has been issued special “mimic devices” – combination holofield generators and vocal modulators that make you look and sound like somebody else entirely – and given an opportunity to remove an opposing player from the match between rounds. Will it be enough? More than enough, if you have anything to say about it.
You are a Mafia Goon. You have the following special abilities:

Welcome to Unreal Tournament Mafia, AtheistGod! You are Othello, a man who developed from a financial expert into one of the premier fighters in the Tournament. Will it be enough? You'll give it your best shot.

It is too late for the pebbles to vote."
Tare: thanks for the losing mvp. In the spec chat, I disagree with your stance on my 682 if you're talking about what I think you are.

It was fun even with the slight frustration.
Generic...why are you so sensitive?
