Not to be rude but I think that out of all of the things I have posted that you could have quoted in order to place a vote on me that may be the least intelligent one you could have chosen. It is impressive, in a way. Could you go into any detail what it was about my end question to a post filled with my thoughts was the problem for you?

@Chris, RE: Specialty Games - There are different types of games on the site here. Basics are just that - basic. No third parties, no complex mechanics, and generally a limited number of power roles picked from a standard set. Normal stretches the bounds a little bit more, but still has provisions against bastard modding and high levels of complexity. Minis allow for more complex mechanics but are capped at 12 players. Specialty games are those with very complex mechanics, like the game we're in now. Forget everything you know about basic game balance. Take a look at the Seasons Mafia for a good example of what to expect here, in terms of what kind of roles might show up and how the game is balanced. (In Seasons, each role was assigned a number of points for Town and a number of points for Mafia, then after the roles were randomly assigned, there were a few pre-set modifiers that could be applied if the point difference was within certain ranges)
Regarding Seppel: Good luck. He's apparently made an art out of being unhelpful.

Yeah I already had an inkling given the whole vitality thing, but these games really take it to the next level over all huh. Well fair enough on that, but even knowing that I stand by my point. Seems hopelessly bold for a scum to broach the subject, especially if the scum knows more about specialty game regulations than I do.
Anyway like your attitude towards me even with my vote on you, so I'll unhook you for now.##unvote:Wildfire

Night Mafia just ended. It's my only real experience as scum, and it's laughably bad.
Seppel was also scum in that game, and it was annoying because I couldn't really say anything about it here until he got himself killed, and it looked like he might put that off for a couple of Days.
His play here reminds me quite a bit of his play there. Jump in to jump on somebody who's getting attention, maybe point out a scummy slip or two, but don't really engage.
Of course, I haven't played a town game with him, so maybe he's just bad like that all the time, but I'm definitely liking him for scum here.

What I find to be interesting is the fact that this game, with its massive complexity of roles, actually ends up being more about behavior than your standard Basic, because in a Basic you've got 3-4 people with a free pass based on their role.

There's no fishing here. I don't have any interest in your role other than as passing curiosity because specialty setups are sweet. But I can wait for that.
What I'm driving towards is that this line:
"but these games really take it to the next level over all huh" sits ill with me. You should've been aware of the complexity of the mechanics from your role, since there are no vanillas in a specialty, which means you role does [something]. Your post reads like you're trying very hard to avoid thinking about your role, which I mark as scummy. Additionally, the pathos of the "huh" at the end reads as idiotic. You've played since 2003. I very much doubt that you're that stupid. All this post serves to accomplish is to make yourself appear less threatening. I'm not buying it.

I am in fact a "he." I'm not offended if you forget, though -- gender on the internet is a fluid topic. There's a long story to my moniker (by way of Welsh mythology and a lot of personal history), but I'd actually never heard of these books until I looked them up to understand your reference. I have now added them to my cart on Amazon -- thanks!
Seppel and Meg both play this way early on and then gradually become more analytical as the game goes on. I haven't seen any overt scumtells from either of them as yet, so I would be inclined to give them the time to do their thing.
what I'm most interested in right now is Wildfire's opinion on Sir Chris, including the following items:
1. What Wildfire thinks Chris's alignment is this game and why
2. Why Wildfire thought he was scum in that other game
3. A comparison of posts from the two games as evidence

Though Sir Chris is also begging for a scum read from me, as well.
@Megiddo: Serious question, so please answer it as such: How long do you want to live in this game?
I generally prefer to live as long as possible so that I can do as much as I can for my team. You know that I do my best work during the late game when there's not as many players left and I have interactions to analyze. That's true for this game too (doubly because it's a Zindabad game and I want the full experience), but due to my RL situation, getting NK'd early would be OK too. Posting is misery due to my computer situation and being killed would remove any reason I have to turn on a device.

you're been talking to chris a lot but I don't have any idea what you think about him.
1. So far, I'm leaning town on Chris, as his play has appeared similar to Castlevania
2. I was convinced he was scum at the end of the game because I searched for all of his interactions with both of the confirmed scum and saw a pattern that I interpreted as scummy - he would repeatedly call out both of them on scummy things they did, insinuate that they were scum, but then within a few posts, call them "bad town" instead. This happened multiple times with both of them (and not really so much with any of the other players), so it looked like he was soft-bussing for cred if they did flip, yet still trying to convince people not to look too hard at them. He was also one of the last people on Burning_Earth, which looked like bussing when it became inevitable BE would be lynched. Finally, his reaction to MenuWars getting Night Killed looked to me like he had been pre-planning what to say on seeing a flip that nobody in town could have predicted.
3. I can try to do this when I'm on a better browser, but quotes don't really work on this one (the above is me copy-pasting and surrounding it with
blocks)

Not everyone has checked in yet, so it is difficult to say for sure. Also, like you, my reads tend to get better as time goes on.
People on my suspect list:
Niv - His divergence from self-voting seems more conspicuous than HP's. He's only had two posts. One was RVS, and the other was attacking me for voting HP for not voting herself, after which he promptly disappeared.
Seppel - Gave my case on him already. Despite what you say, I find him suspicious. He's not my #1 lynch choice today, so hopefully as the game goes on he'll demonstrate one way or the other, but I can't take him off my suspect list now
AsianInvasion - In a game full of mechanical discussion, he's managed to avoid talking about pretty much anything else. I had to call him out on a read to get him to say anything of meaning, and his justification for that read seems very off.
People I'm leaning town on:
Megiddo
Sir Chris
Prophylaxis
Anyone else who's posted a lot is still in the big mass of middle at the moment.

Please show the class what makes my behavior scummy. I am clearly trying to generate discussion. I am also clearly not voting. Why? Because I don't want to. Your argument could maaaybe work if I weren't being so obvious and up-front about the fact that I'm not voting. But I am doing that, so your argument doesn't work.
Furthermore, why does steering the discussion make me scum, again? Please tell me exactly what my goal is. Who benefits from my "steering?" Have I done this in the past as scum? Have I done it in the past as town?
On a more base level, what differentiates what you're calling "steering" from what I will tell you is scumhunting? Cite posts.
After you realize that you have no argument, go do something more useful, like actually scumhunt. I don't want to waste any more of my time fending off accusations from people who don't know how I play.

Also, to Cythare, by your post I take it that you agree with Rhand, so please answer the same questions.
I do not agree with Rhand regarding you being scum. I simply disagree with your statement that because you're not voting, you're not steering discussion. I don't see how you can automatically equate the two.
@Cythare, how do you think Megiddo is pushing/steering the conversation?
His posting style of asking a lot of questions to stay on the front foot results in him playing a strong role in the direction that discussion goes. This is not a bad thing - I just strongly disliked his statement above. Do you disagree?

I nath'd you on #2. The first, I think I've ACTUALLY only been lynched twice? One was in Republican Presidential Primaries as town and the other was in Magical Girl as scum. but I don't count the latter because we conceded that Night, so I pretend we conceded before I got lynched. Sometimes I claim I've never been lynched. Sometimes I claim I've never even lost a game!

Yeah, sorry. I realized that I'm being more irritating than I want to be, hence why I will take a break for a little while and let others get more time in the spotlight.
I am definitely dominating conversation, yes (check the post counts). No hiding from that, and no reason to. But the actual important point here is that Rhand thinks I'm scum for it, and I want him to explain why he thinks that.

Eh, I didn't feel like he was steering the conversation too much. Most of the early game has been interactions with Wildfire and Sir Chris, and I don't think either were being pushed heavily by Megiddo.
@Meg, what do you mean by "Oh yeah that was clearly BS"? Do you mean that you accept that you were steering the conversation?

2. It might actually be in my interest to partially claim at this point... I'll think about it. For the moment, assume that I will not die because of losing stamina at any point this game, and that I do not need ANY external help with this.
3. I can try to do this when I'm on a better browser, but quotes don't really work on this one (the above is me copy-pasting and surrounding it with
blocks)

This. My vote ain't moving.

Both of these statements are complete bull*****. Why.
Seriously, it's extremely annoying that you're dominating the conversation and then lying about doing so.
Anyway, this is clearly being distracting to everybody, so I'll take a break from posting for now.
If so, why deny it at first?

Sir Chris's unvote of Wildfire smacks of insincerity, so I'm leaning toward Seppel's position.
Unvote Cythare
Vote Sir Chris
Also known as the one where he gives basically zero explanation, and votes him for something that is diametrically opposite of what you're voting him for?

Not sure how "basically zero explanation" can be "diametrically opposite of" anything.
You agree with LnGrrrR's point of view and then say something different from what he was saying?
Ln re: Meg, not Ln re: Sir Chris. Nice try, though.
