GD doll, why are you telling people not to game the setup while there is not much other content?
What caused your mind to change?
What do you think of SNL's vote on me, given that his reasoning is that he doesn't like how I'm focusing so much on the Dolls, supposedly instead of scumhunting?
Why do you move to ignore the Doll, then procede to ask it questions?
B_E's reasoning is bad, and you've already explained why it's so bad. Your claim to like his reasoning makes no sense, and is likely a lie made to appease him.
Ok, so when I saw B-E's vote on me, given how he did it, I guessed that his vote probably didn't have any good reasoning. I was expecting either no reasoning given, or a half-assed one. When he stated that it was because of my concern for being voted, plus reasons, I was apperently wrong that he wouldn't have anything remotely good in the way of reasoning. Maybe saying I "liked" his reasoning wasn't specific enough. It exceeded expectations, because it wasn't the scummy trainwreck I was expecting.
And I'm not asking permission. I've stated I will continue to talk to the Doll unless by majority vote we decide not to. I'm not gonna selfishly continue on a path I want to go down just because I want to do it. There are 8 others in this game, and they have a say in what information we should allow for public consumption. If the majority doesn't want everyone to learn about the Dolls just yet, then we don't learn about the Dolls just yet. Simple.
While I'm sure the doll mechanic is new and innovative and Gives Something For The Players To Talk About (one of the cardinal rules of specialty-level design), I would prefer to ignore them unless something crops up that uses the dolls in some manner or a Figurine shows up. This one appears to have a posting restriction, which won't really make it all that helpful.
I'm not a huge fan of killjoy at this juncture.
Vote killjoy
~p
Tarphy votes me for focusing on the Dolls, instead of scumhunting. I counter with saying that we were 36 posts into the game at that point, and there was nothing much suspicious save his voteless RVS post, which I have some outstanding questions about still. Hasn't been on to respond yet.
Tarphy: Why do you think everyone who stops to ask the Doll a question is scummy? So far you've called out two of the people who've asked his questions. Tarphy: Why did you not call out SNL for asking the Doll a question as well? Tarphy I've asked two questions. How exactly do you think that I'm avoiding scumhunting to focus on Dolls? TWO of my posts (both in the RVS phase, technically) were talking to the Dolls.
I don't like how Killjoy wants to focus solely on the doll, especially one that can't even vote. While I agree that we should figure out the extent of what these things can do, it shouldn't overshadow hunting scum.
/vote Killjoy
He votes me also for focusing on the Dolls instead of scumhunting.
Possible sheep of Tarphy. It's at this point I actually respond with how we're at post 36 and there's nothing really suspicious yet. Still early in the game.
SNL I've asked two questions. How exactly do you think that I'm avoiding scumhunting to focus on Dolls? TWO of my posts (both in the RVS phase, technically) were talking to the Dolls.
Hey. On the alive, awake, alert and enthusiastic scale, I'm somewhere around awake.
Vote killjoy
Pretty happy with this vote.
Fulcrum pressure votes me to L-2, then states she wants to keep her vote on me for buddying B_E (no, you did not use those exact words, but that's what your accusation amounted to). I do not think it was her intention to put me to L-2 given her language.
Fulcrum: Do you agree that spending time looking at the Dolls is scummy? Why? Fulcrum: Why do you say you're happy with the vote directly after making it? Why would you make it if you weren't happy with it?
This vote puts me to L-1.His reason given is that I was concerned with the L-2 vote being placed on me, which I see as a valid reason.
I need Tarphy and SNL to answer as to why putting any focus on the Dolls is scummy before I can decide where to rank them in vote scumminess... but right now I'd say from least to most: B_E, Fulcrum, (Tarphy/SNL) contingent on reason.
Spoilered for non-wallyness.
Double Spoilered for extra awesomeness.

KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

- The gan_dan doll is town
- killjoy is town (even more so due to his reaction to being hammered, but Tar pegged him as town before he was hammered (tried to figure out the reaction of players voting him). Tar was going to unvote in the morning but.. this happened.
- B_E still needs to burn.
- fulcrum needs to die ("pretty happy w/this vote" is stock scum phrasing, #50 is scum sniping)
- I have no idea about MafiaSSK. I need to ask Tar.
- Wouldn't be surprised if scum were lurking.

1. He gave a half-assed reason.
2. You're not saying you liked his reasoning, you're saying you liked the fact that he gave reasoning. That's a low bar, man.
3. What does "scummy trainwreck" mean?
4. Why did you care what the majority thought about figuring out the doll? Why not just ask it questions and then stop if people actively tell you to stop? Instead, you tried to shift the conversation from figuring out other players and the doll, to figuring out if we want to figure out the doll.

I said "pretty happy with this vote" to clarify that it was a serious vote. My response to hans had a lot of irritation because this is the third time is four games here that someone has said "I like fulcrum" without clarifying what that even means.
GD doll, who's the right lynch (quote a number on the player list or something if needed)?
If killjoy flips scum, then the game is on easy mode, and we just lynch MafiaSSK and B_E (in that order) for the win.
If killjoy flips town, then I think (?) SNL and B_E are town. I’m also feeling kind of good about Lain. I plan on reading through MafiaSSK’s other games (link: http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=MafiaSSK) to see if this is something he’s more likely to do as scum or town. If any of you guys have experience with him or the time to go through his games, I would appreciate your thoughts. So, hans, kosa and hawk.

Also, I can see not outing too much about dolls HERE, because scum, but in the qt he said he had a town read on me. He wasn't being as helpful as I figured he would be given his read on me.

You killed a pr. And day 1 is 90 posts. Some people barely posted out of rvs. How is that good day 1?
Information is information. RVS is still solid. Sure it might not be top 10 Day 1s ever, but eh.
And no I didn't kill you. I hammered you. There were other people on that wagon though, you have to realize that. They also supported you being lynched and dying. Regardless of whether or not you're a town PR.

Talking to the doll isn't necessarily scummy, but we scumread both of you for different reasons.
I didn't call out SNL for asking the Doll a question because it isn't necessarily scummy.
I voted you because your enthusiasm feels forced (in your first post) and you were talking too much about mechanics.
@fulcrum
Tar mentioned a couple of his posts felt off and I agree (#9, #12, #16 looks scum-motivated, #40, #43). My gut feels bad about him also (gambler's fallacy mostly). I'll need to poke Tar for further clarification, though.

No, actually. I'm pretty sure Killjoy sounds like a good lynch too.
Vote Killjoy
I've played with MafiaSSK before. I've modded games SSK played in before. I, in short, have quite a bit of experience with MafiaSSK.
Under ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES (except MAYBE a Cop guilty on a non-SSK player, and even then I'd consider lynching SSK first) should any player not named MafiaSSK be lynched tomorrow. He just claimed scum.
derphammer. Sorry guys. But regardless, I feel like it was an alright Day 1.
BULL. ****ING. ****.
This is a GREAT D1 for you - because you quickhammered a townie and you're hoping you'll be able to pull the VI "oops" defense.
Just like Seppel tried to do in MTGS Majora's Mask and like Rodemy pulled in Drury Lane.
NOT going to save you.
(Aside: 'Scummers, THIS is why the MTGS L-2 rule exists. I'm surprised 'Scum has forgotten, L-2 used to be the rule over there too.)
---
Second scum is somewhere in {fulcrum, BE, Kosa} with an outside shot of hans. Kosa's here because he hasn't said anything since random stage and gut hates post 8. The rest? Well:
ANYONE WHO QUICKHAMMERS WILL BE QUICKSPEEDLYLYNCHED YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Why not explicitly ask for a claim when you voted Killjoy to L-1? That makes no sense to me... unless you didn't want to be associated with asking KJ to claim.
B_E's reasoning is bad, and you've already explained why it's so bad. Your claim to like his reasoning makes no sense, and is likely a lie made to appease him.
Don't like the underlined - looks like an escape hatch to me ("was going to unvote" gives an easy way to leave the wagon later, and can indicate scum who implicitly know that the target's defense is true but want to keep the attack going).
Lain: In your first post, you say "we're town", which you explain as joy for getting a town role pm. But, here's the thing: If it's really an outburst of joy, why wouldn't it have happened in the hydra chat? Why did you choose to extend it to the game thread? I totally may have asked this before, but I'm doing it again.
I feel like Lain is scum. His 98 seems like he's trying way too hard to make others look scummy. If he doesn't die tonight, I would personally push for a lynch on him after SSK. Especially if he doesn't die tonight. or Tomorrow.
I want the other third of the game that hasn't really done anything (Hawk, Hams, Kosa, here's lookin' at you, kids) to come out and play.
If you die tonight, Lain, I'll see you in the spectator chat.

A nonzero percentage of people playing this game have read/heard of mafiascum's Dark Night of the Law (Burning_Earth, MafiaSSK modded) where in short our hydraing was a disaster (I didn't post in the main thread AT ALL and let Tar do all the work). It was me expressing my joy at rolling town - so much that I had to post in the main thread.
Alright so after a little bit of rereading, I think SNL is town. He hasn't imploded yet.
I'm wondering what BE and Ssk were thinking by voting someone to level 1 and quick hammering. I think that our next two lynches are pretty self explanatory. Is the game really gonna be that simple?

Tarphy votes me for focusing on the Dolls, instead of scumhunting. I counter with saying that we were 36 posts into the game at that point, and there was nothing much suspicious save his voteless RVS post, which I have some outstanding questions about still. Hasn't been on to respond yet.

He votes me also for focusing on the Dolls instead of scumhunting.
Possible sheep of Tarphy. It's at this point I actually respond with how we're at post 36 and there's nothing really suspicious yet. Still early in the game.

Vote Killjoy
MafiaSSK, is there any reason why you couldn't wait until more discussion had taken place before hammering?
Previous Mafia Experience:
Mafia aligned: 2/0 -100%
Town aligned: 4/3 - 57%
Ok, so all I could figure out about the Dolls is that they seem player controlled.
Good luck Town.
@B_E: THAT'S why we wait till L-2.
Town had better win this
End-of-day thoughts:
- The gan_dan doll is town
- killjoy is town (even more so due to his reaction to being hammered, but Tar pegged him as town before he was hammered (tried to figure out the reaction of players voting him). Tar was going to unvote in the morning but.. this happened.
- B_E still needs to burn.
- fulcrum needs to die ("pretty happy w/this vote" is stock scum phrasing, #50 is scum sniping)
- I have no idea about MafiaSSK. I need to ask Tar.
- Wouldn't be surprised if scum were lurking.
We should probably make full use of our Twilight.
~p
Unvote, Vote MafiaSSK.
Yay game rules, maybe!
If we get killed toNight I will be really angry.
~p
Oh well.
Killjoy (5) (L-0) - Lain Iwakura, SelesnyaNewLife, fulcrum, Burning_Earth, MafiaSSK
Lain Iwakura (1) - Kosakosa
Kosakosa (1) - 7hawk77
Abstaining (2) - hansanator, killjoy
That's a lynch! Twilight will last ~24 hours, so feel free to post away. The thread will be locked when Night falls, anyway.

GD doll, who's the right lynch (quote a number on the player list or something if needed)?
Dude I warned you you were going to be quicklynched tomorrow
And so it seems you are (unless KJ is scum)
Yes, it is. You showed a moderate amount of concern for being at L-2 at the beginning of the game. There’s nothing scummy about that.
Do you have any final reads or comments?
Why?
I said "pretty happy with this vote" to clarify that it was a serious vote. My response to hans had a lot of irritation because this is the third time is four games here that someone has said "I like fulcrum" without clarifying what that even means.
Scummy train wreck meaning how bad I was expecting the answer to be.
And my role has a lot to do with figuring the dolls out. I feel like the game needs that information to survive
It occurs to me that idk how much is revealed on death, so a claim is good here.
I'm town hostess. I have a tea party in a qt. I can invite one doll once per day. I invited Dan today. He says he's not a player here but I doubt him.
Good luck town.
I feel like town would have been more helpful.
I feel like Dan might be scum? Gut feels.
Also, do you have any reads?
I don't like lain. Ssk for obvious reasons. Be put me to l-1. The rest are null.
Quote a post from a scumread after you quote this one.
doit.
If you're town though... We might be screwed.
@fulcrum
Tar mentioned a couple of his posts felt off and I agree (#9, #12, #16 looks scum-motivated, #40, #43). My gut feels bad about him also (gambler's fallacy mostly). I'll need to poke Tar for further clarification, though.
OK.
Fulcrum/Lain.
Killjoy/Kosa.
@Gdandoll,
Do you have a goal?

Separated for emphasis.

I lol'd.
Why are you repeating a question already asked to Dan in the thread?
The frick Tar? Why? How?
I've played with MafiaSSK before. I've modded games SSK played in before. I, in short, have quite a bit of experience with MafiaSSK.
Under ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES (except MAYBE a Cop guilty on a non-SSK player, and even then I'd consider lynching SSK first) should any player not named MafiaSSK be lynched tomorrow. He just claimed scum.
BULL. ****ING.
The rest? Well:
This is COMPLETELY terrible - if GD is town, he can help up find scum; if GD is scum, he may lead us to his buddies.
I see no town motivation for this suggestion whatsoever.
Why not explicitly ask for a claim when you voted Killjoy to L-1? That makes no sense to me... unless you didn't want to be associated with asking KJ to claim.
Bussing? A distinct possibility - "I warned you" looks like a buddy interaction to me.
(It's WORSE if somehow SSK is town - setting up for pushing the low-hanging fruit D2 - but I don't see that happening.)
---
This is terrible - seen way too many scum pull that last line out to try to push through a lynch.
Why the tone? Townies aren't usually this patronizing.
Don't like the underlined - looks like an escape hatch to me ("was going to unvote" gives an easy way to leave the wagon later, and can indicate scum who implicitly know that the target's defense is true but want to keep the attack going).
---
Why the tone here?
- Tar
We'll find out next time
I feel like Lain is scum.
Anything else anyone needs from me?
That said, as soon as D2 starts I'm parking my vote on MafiaSSK and not moving it until his existence is purged from this game.
Do you have any better defense other than "no u"?
(Like actually responding to Tar's points?)
~p
I'm wondering what BE and Ssk were thinking by voting someone to level 1 and quick hammering. I think that our next two lynches are pretty self explanatory. Is the game really gonna be that simple?
