If we lynch Joey and he isn't the roleblocker, I'm at least getting roleblocked, if not night killed, because DKL being alive benefits the scum.
If we lynch DKL and we have Joey target me, if I am roleblocked, we lynch Joey. If I am not roleblocked, Joey dies. And I might still die anyway. How is this not preferable, Masterplum?

Guys. What the ****. Joey is scum. We are lynching Joey toDay period.
In Brazil we have a saying that, roughly translating, goes as "don't count on the egg inside the chicken's ass". There's approximately a bazillion variants that could go wrong in leaving the potential Mafia Redirector alive. Let's just not have that happen.
This is L-1. Someone feel free to end this Day and regain us our momentum back. I've already had enough of this running in circles thing in Hayate Mafia.
@DCIII:
The behavior change is going to suspect. What reason would dkings have to change his behavior the way he has? Something smells here and I am not going to let you run the Town in circles saying it's not.

it's tomorrow, but I've been celebrating all week.
Anyway, any specific questions for me before Night? Most of the discussion I missed is moot at this point. The point I was trying to convey to DCIII has been conveyed as well, but again: moot.

Thanks, today I celebrated by having my dad forget my birthday.
Void is doing that normal Void thing he does where he makes no sense and just kind of rushes headlong into the game. I'm not getting his usual scum game vibe here, which is very obvious and not at all what is happening.
In my experience Void just does his own thing, and sometimes that looks scummy, but you have to be careful about jumping to that conclusion. Keep in mind that it took me a month to convince myself that void was town in FHF—that speaks to his ability to look scummy just by doing his own thing.

Please everyone pay attention to what Void has been doing and don't just dismiss it as not Void meta. He said that the best post DK made all Day was when he said that we couldn't wait until Day 3 to resolve him. Then iRebel posted reiterating his thought that DK needed to die, which he had been saying for the past several pages and Void called it a scum slip despite iRebel following the same logic that DK needed to be resolved prior to Day 3. Then as the discussion around DK's plan which would have resolved him prior to Day 3 came up, Kosa threw a vote down and Void put down the hammer. If Void thought it was so important that DK not be alive going into Day 3, why would he hammer to avoid the plan that would resolve DK Today?
Regardless of whether or not DK is alive Tomorrow, we should be lynching Void.

I'm exhausted so i'm just going to write what comes to mind atm, before day ends.
t/s in sort of t-s order
odd_igem - town, there's no other way he would've seen me otherwise. unless he's a tracker. if there is a town protective role other than me, then igem is who you should be wary of
iRebel - town, he claimed vig, wifom all you want, but drawing uneccessary attention to himself is not what he would do as scum.
DCIII - Good reasoning for everything he posted.
Tubehunter, Tanarin Antny223 - null read. I at first disliked tanarin for his attempt at hunting the unknown 3rd neighbor,
id_ego, Prophylaxis Masterplum - I didn't like proph, but I feel like revealing that he was roleblocked is a town indicator. null
Dkingsland - I feel that while his d1 move of coming forward as the 3rd neighbour was a town move, his flippy behavior d2 feels like a desperate move after the other two flipped town. an all town neighborhood is possible though. I like his post 840, so he is in the middle atm
Void - I always think void is scum. Void also subtly discrediting people eg. 852, 856
Kosakosa - fearmongering my role as scum redirector, handwaving my claim as botched,
Megiddo - scum, or maybe bulletproof sk. this is a mini, so who knows?
"And so the cycle continues," Karth rumbled ominously. "A magus slew my parents. A magus shall slay me."
"No...not my boy," Dante wept. "He wouldn't...he couldn't!"
"I'm afraid he has," the Cleaner said. "Now step aside." When Dante refused, the Cleaner shoved him angrily. "I said, step aside."
As Karth stood, contemplating his fate, his grimace blurred into a thin, straight line. He stood tall, and thrust out his impressively wide shoulders.
"I will die with my honor intact, as befitting one of my tribe," he announced. "Please, make it quick and clean."
The Cleaner hesitated. "My orders are to take you to the Bore, not to kill you."
"Then we have a problem," Karth sighed, raising his right hand. Blue-green energy swirled in its palm.
Dante dashed in front of his adopted son. "Please, don't do this," he begged. "If you at least go to the Bore, there is a chance that you can be released when the actual culprits are found."
"And if I do as you say, I will be changed by the point at which this happens. I will no longer be the same person, and I would rather not undergo that pain. I'm sorry, father." Karth turned his palm to his father, and released the energy. Dante flew across the room, crumpling in a corner before slumping into unconsciousness.
"You will not come peacefully, then?" the Cleaner demanded.
Karth's only response was another burst of telekinetic energy.
-----------
The battle raged on for several hours, and multiple divisions of Cleaners had to be dispatched to assist in the elimination of Karth. Despite all attempts at capturing him alive, Karth's sheer will power combined with his innate abilities meant that the Cleaners had no alternative but to use lethal force.

Orphaned at a young age by a magus who wished to study your tribes' unique mystical talents, you were saved by his rival, Dante, who raised you as his own. Growing up on the Campus of Xymande, you have learned to take your inherent abilities and manifest them, in stark contrast to the magi surrounding you who must rely on their books, scrolls, and mouthed syllables.

Elder Al'Jiraq gasped, feeling a stabbing pain lacing through his chest. He fell, crawling desperately at the nightstand by his bed. What...what is going? he thought frantically. I am immortal...this cannot be happening!
His eyes narrowed through the pain. My enemies...they must have deduced my identity! I need to figure out who was responsible for this quickly, before it is too late!

Across town, the Nameless lay in a puddle of the filth cast off by the better-off members of Xymandian society.
Now, what did we tell you to do? a Voice asked.
Oh, right, find the identities of the other immortals another Voice answered, while the Nameless writhed.
You're such a disappointment, said a Voice. You should have stayed put in the gutter you came from and never dared to better yourself, it spat.
The Nameless just covered his ears and wallowed in his pain.
It didn't help.

In the hours before dawn, two bodies were found. The first was of surprise to no-one. The final member of the ill-fated Cult of Al-Naxys lay face-down in a pool of blood -- well, most of him. His head -- cleanly chopped off by an axe -- was laying a few feet away, face stuck in an unsettling rictus grin.

The other was a beautiful girl who was close to The J'Qath, by all rumors. She was found by her House Matron. Phylaxis grinned, straight white teeth gleaming in the shadows. At his side, Qa'Thras and Matron Themia stood tall, proud of their accomplishment.
"As the sole remaining Immortal, I claim this Xymande," Phylaxis announced. "Your armies of Cleaners cannot stop me. Your Council of Elders is as a room full of schoolchildren. None can now stop me!"
"LORD PHYLAXIS!" Themia and Qa'Thras shouted, raising their fits over their heads.
Elder Al-Jiraq's shoulders slumped, defeated. The message from Phylaxis was received at once by every member of the Council via scrying orb. He knows we cannot stop him, so he chooses to rub it in before acting, he thought bitterly.
A knock on the door sounded. "Come," Al-Jiraq said wearily. The stench of decay wafted to his nose immediately.
"You are Al-Jiraq?" an ancient voice asked from the doorway.
Al-Jiraq turned. The man before him was nearly skeletal: a cadaverous frame, gaunt with stretched skin like parchment. Faint wisps of hair trailed from his scalp, but his eyes glowed with the vitality of one much younger and healthier than the frame belied.
"You are Al-Jiraq?" the man repeated, voice thin from exertion.
"I am. And you are?"
"I am," the man replied. "My name would mean nothing to you, and so I am The Nameless. It would seem we have a mutual problem," he said.
"Phylaxis," Al-Jiraq spat.
"Indeed," The Nameless replied. "He would set himself up as a king, with intentions of godhood. He may in fact succeed."
"What would you have me do?"
"Fight," came the answer.
Al-Jiraq paced, thinking. "How?" he finally asked. It may surprise you to learn this, but a few hours ago I was immortal, with enough power to hurt Phylaxis where it mattered. Now, though, my support is faded along with my strength. I fear the Council will acquiesce to Phylaxis's demands. The Elders were ever a power-hungry lot, and my inability to keep Phylaxis at bay may cause the Elders to side with him, rather than oppose him. Offers of immortality are, after all, intoxicating to men of our particular trade."
The Nameless smiled -- a grim, macabre thing. "I, too, was immortal. I have lived many, many centuries. Longer, even, than Phylaxis. Long enough that the things I'd done, with some help from my apprentice, had driven me to the brink of insanity. However, as my immortality dissipated like the dawn breeze, so too did the Voices which had plagued me throughout eternity." The Nameless drew himself up, shoulders withered but still broad. "The Elders may well side with Phylaxis, but I choose to side with you."
The Nameless extended his hand. Al-Jiraq paused, nose wrinkled. After a moment's hesitation, however, he reached out his own hand, and grasped the Nameless's firmly.
"Plague upon Phylaxis," he whispered eagerly.
The Nameless's eyebrow rose. "Plague, indeed," he laughed...a hollow, cacophonous sound, echoing with the pain of ages.
---------------
"How do I look?" Phylaxis asked Themia and Qa'Thras, posing in the mirror.
"Downright regal, milord," Themia bowed. Phylaxis absently scratched one of the shoulder epaulets on his new outfit, before turning, robes billowing voluminously behind him.
"What of her?" Qa'Thras asked.
"What of her?" Phylaxis echoed. "The Elder's pet may be useful later on."
"But, I watched you kill her, Master," Qa'Thras protested.
"Foolish boy," Themia scolded. "You think that the realms of necromancy are beyond our Master's capabilities?"
"No, I just..."
"Relax, Themia," Phylaxis smiled. "I have special things planned for this one," he said gently to Qa'thras.

Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Antoinette Fiande, Town 2-shot Vigilante
You come from a family of warriors, and while you would rather be out fighting in the borderlands, they would rather that you were in relative safety, studying to make yourself better at the Campus of Xymande. You're still more predisposed to the combative arts, though, and your heritage speaks for itself. While most of the other apprentices are learning magical arts or assisting their Masters in their studies, you serve your Master, Al-jiraq, more by being his bodyguard than you do in any other function. He's been particularly jumpy lately, and you're worried that you may have to take the ultimate step to ensure his safety.

Dante Scolios wept.
"My boy...they took my boy..." he cried, rocking back and forth.
"Master Scolios," a voice came from the doorway. "I have some information that you may find...interesting."
"Leave it on the table, and leave me to my misery," Dante replied.
"As you wish," the voice answered. There was the sound of a box being placed on the table by the door, and then the intruder's retreating footsteps were blocked out by the closing of the door.
Dante wallowed in his misery for several more minutes before curiosity finally got the better of him.
He walked to the table, hands shaking. From the box he raised a scrying orb, which he activated with the merest of touches. The glowing orb showed him a great many things.
"Phylaxis," he spat. His tears of sorrow turned to tears of fury, and as sparks dancing along his shoulders and cracks in the floor appeared at his feet, something broke within Dante Scolios.
---------------
Phylaxis strode calmly towards the Chamber of the Council, flanked by Themia and Qa'Thras.
Xymande was his, and with it, he could -- at last -- touch the heavens.

You've been alive and alone for so long that you have forgotten your name, your identity, and any semblance of morality. To survive, you have absorbed others into your psyche -- using their personalities you remember that long ago, someone attempted to steal your research, and you cursed him to wander aimlessly for all eternity. In so doing, though, you inadvertently formed a bond with him. It was this bond which brought you to the Campus of Xymande. You know not what he seeks here, but you know that you must stop him. Perhaps, in so doing, you may finally bring yourself the peace that you stole from yourself, so very long ago.
You have inside knowledge that there are two other immortals in the game.
Activated ability: Each night, you may PM the mod a guess as to the identities of the other two Undying players. If correct, you immediately leave the game with a victory (this does not cause the mafia or the town to lose). Additionally, each remaining Undying player becomes killable.

If you do, that corpse is noted to be missing the next morning. You gain a 1-shot usage of that corpse's ability, however, for each ability you gain, your lynch threshold is reduced by 1. This can result in suicide. You cannot gain factional abilities this way.

You know, if you guys had mass claimed day 1 we would have been utterly screwed.
I had a lot of issues with the balance of the game but I talked about it extensively in the scum chat so if you really want to look it's there. A Short Tl;Dr would be along the lines of if for example Meg had been lynched day 1 it would have been pretty much over for scum. There would have been two bullet proof people hiding out that would have made getting to the end of the day nearly impossible. Plus Having three abilities but only able to use two of them at a time because a kill took up an action was problematic.
It was a pretty swingy setup, Scum could have virtually lost day 1 and as we saw town was able to lose in 2 days. I don't blame Arianrhod, I blame whoever checked the balance of this game. Nearly every game I have ever hosted I have had some make me take out a role I really wanted. When you are hosting you get these ideas that sound really really great and you have to have someone who tells you it just isn't going to work. The three guessers of different alignments was a really interesting idea, but I just don't think it worked in this setup. It made the game too swingy and too prone to luck. Having no vanilla's exacerbated the problem because there was very little margin of error on either side. If you had the same setup but added in another 3 town vanilla's and a mafia vanilla it would have helped immensely on multiple counts. Town couldn't lose so fast, and Scum would have been less likely to get screwed by a lucky guess or a mass claim.
overall I had fun playing here. You guys Really need deadlines. Long days weren't a problem, but days so long that people can get by without posting for a full week is absurd. I would recommend putting in a hard 2 week deadline on days. If you can't get a lynch in two weeks you probably aren't active enough to play mafia. Deadlines on nights would also help. Apparently there was someone that didn't send in a night action for quite some time. That's absurd. Town power should never need more then 48 hours to get an action in.
Fun times. I'll probably play in another game (I really hate being scum BTW, I want a town game) But if you guys don't mind I would like to look over a couple setups first. I have had several years of mafia experience with a different perspective and I think epicmafia and stuff like that has warped people's perspectives of what a fun and balanced mafia game really is. I think it would be good for the community to have more thorough reviews and if you guys would let me I would love to just go over setups with people and point out what I think does and doesn't work. If they don't listen to me no big deal. I just think it would result in more fun for everyone.
Finally sorry if you thought I was a bit of a douche in whatever way. I get a little bit prideful when I think I know things better then other people. Personality flaw. Yes. I admit it. I really am a nice guy! Mafia just makes me cranky at people some times ( I was looking for a smiley to express my feelings but all I could find was a pirate so we will go with that)
You guys certainly are the best mafia community outside of the one I usually play in I have seen. Fun times.
Very swingy. Had you and I been town and BE and Antny been scum I think town would have won in 3 days. A scum lynch day 1 and scum would have folded like a house of cards.
Oh btw, BE really was so obviously town. I wasn't faking that
I was only able to get my extra shot off so quickly because the town was so quick and happy to claim. The entire neighbor group was out in the open D1. D2 opened with Dkingsland confirming that antny had an activated ability, and then Cythare's claim confirmed him AND Deathjoey as well (we rolecopped Cythare but it's irrelevant here). Oh, and don't forget iRebel's vig claim. That's literally every town player aside from the two I was looking for.
That said, there was really no indication that the town should have been less free with its information? So I'm unsure what this means.
I agree with Plum that this setup was very skewed against the scum in a mass claim. We had the classic Rolecop/Roleblocker/X team, which is fine in a game with a ton of vanillas, but here we had zero ways to actually blend in. Plus, the X in this case was something that I really really did not want to be claiming!

From the games I've played in / observed, 72-hour Nights are the norm here. Also, you can ask literally anyone I've played with and they'll tell you that I'm barely around on weekends, so Night 2's length was kind of just an awkward situation all around.
As for deadlines, some of that onus is on me. Most mods here are a lot better about that than I am -- I didn't actually realize that Day 1 was dragging on for as long as it was, and a more experienced mod would've likely implemented a deadline much sooner.
I'll post my thoughts and rationale on the setup (and what I would do differently) in a little bit...I need a break from typing.
My only problem with implementing deadlines is it adds another layer of mod discretion to the game. Every time a mod makes a judgement call it adds possible bias to the game.
If an experienced mod would have added a deadline sooner, then there would be no harm in having a set deadline far enough in the future that it would only be an issue if days really dragged on. I thought 14 days would have been long enough, though the exact amount of time would probably be up for debate. I'm used to super fast 48 hour days. It forces everyone to be active so you pretty much always have someone to talk to. I lost a lot of motivation when I posted something and nobody was around to reply for the next 4 hours. It would probably be worse if I was town.
Of course day length is a stylistic choice. I just think days longer then 2 weeks are just too long for any man
Based on the spec chat, this game was like all of my scumgames where the town figures out that I'm scum just a tiny bit too late.
My DJ vote was basically a gambit. I was intentionally outing myself (to the other Undying) and had to hope that they 1. wouldn't claim to confirm why I was voting DJ and 2. wouldn't have POE'd otherwise.
If we hadn't won at Night I was pretty much the guaranteed lynch. My only play would have been a desperate gambit where I claimed to be either the Nameless or Al-Jiraq and convinced somebody to vote with me.
I believe you. I felt as if there were some weak links in my play, certainly. Waffling on BE/rez was bad, even though I was able to disguise it somewhat (I did actually change my mind on BE after reading his other game, though). Others have pointed out some artificial play from me as well as my theory handwaving that came up a couple of times. Plus I was just not as aggressive as I usually am as town.
Nobody pointed out that I had said I wanted to lynch Plum but then completely ignored it the next Day. I think my voting pattern was pretty awful then, too, at least until DJ claimed and gave me something solid to hook on to.
What did you see?

It was the whole BE/Zed interactions that gave me those vibes. The way you went into the ordeal and how you came to your conclusion didn't come across as genuine. Granted I has my role to fall back on I just didn't see the point in trying to get you lynched there. If I did, then I would expect to have been the attempted NK and the following Day I would have likely been the lynch for not dying during that Night Phase. The action did not seem Pro-Town at the time.
If we lynch DKL and we have Joey target me, if I am roleblocked, we lynch Joey. If I am not roleblocked, Joey dies. And I might still die anyway. How is this not preferable, Masterplum?

This really feels like a major Scum slip that DKL is Town.
In Brazil we have a saying that, roughly translating, goes as "don't count on the egg inside the chicken's ass". There's approximately a bazillion variants that could go wrong in leaving the potential Mafia Redirector alive. Let's just not have that happen.

Regardless of whether or not DK is alive Tomorrow, we should be lynching Void.

odd_igem - town, there's no other way he would've seen me otherwise. unless he's a tracker. if there is a town protective role other than me, then igem is who you should be wary of
iRebel - town, he claimed vig, wifom all you want, but drawing uneccessary attention to himself is not what he would do as scum.

Deathjoey has been lynched. He was Karth, Town Busdriver
Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Karth, Town Busdriver
You are a member of an elusive tribe who tend to shy away from civilization.
Activated ability: Once per night, you may PM the Mod two targets. The first, whom you will redirect from. The second, whom you will redirect to. (Exmaple: I would like to redirect all abilities that would target AsianInvasion, to target Iso instead).
Passive ability: You may post in the game thread, and you may vote.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

The other was a beautiful girl who was close to The J'Qath, by all rumors. She was found by her House Matron.
"I have special things planned for this one," he said gently to Qa'thras.
iRebel has been slain. He was Antoinette Flande, Town 2-shot Vigilante.
Activated ability: Once per night, you may select a player. If successful, that player is killed. Players killed by you will have the flavor of "head chopped off with an axe."
Passive ability: You may post in the game thread, and you may vote.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.
"And now," Phylaxis said, "I believe we have a meeting with the Council of Elders to attend to."

[spoiler=Eliza Brand]
Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Eliza Brand, Town Neighbor
You've been here a few years, and are apprenticed to one of the higher-order Masters, who is researching the reason behind why stars fall. In your spare time, you like to hang out with your friends in the Cult of Al-Naxys. Most of the people you pledged with have moved on, although you haven't heard from any of them in some time. The new girl is really nice, though, and while the stuck-up brat is annoying, you'd like to think that he can grow out of it with your mature, calming attitude.

[spoiler=Antoinette Flande]
Activated ability: Once per night, you may select a player. If successful, that player is killed. Players killed by you will have the flavor of "head chopped off with an axe."
Passive ability: You may post in the game thread, and you may vote.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

Antny:
[spoiler=Sarah Veritas]
Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Sarah Veritas, Town Innocent Child
A princess of the royal line, you are sufficiently far from the throne that your royal parents allow you to study at the Campus of Xymande. Your brothers and sisters scoff at your desire to learn as opposed to attend state functions and fancy balls, but your parents recognize the usefulness to the Crown of the connections you could make among the scholarly elite.
Activated ability: Once per game, at Night, you may PM the Mod and announce that you would like to use this ability, and target a player. If you do, the Mod will confirm your alignment to that player.
Passive ability: You may post in the game thread, and you may vote.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

Deathjoey:
[spoiler=Karth]
Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Karth, Town Busdriver
You are a member of an elusive tribe who tend to shy away from civilization.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

odd_i_gem / Cythare:
[spoiler=Dante Scolios]
Welcome to the Campus of Xymande. Here, research into all forms of magic takes place -- even those which have been forbidden.
You are Dante Scolios, Town Jack of All Trades
A Master of the Campus of Xymande picks up many tricks over the course of his tenure, and you are no exception. A generalist from a young age, you specialized in acquiring low-level versions of the talents of your specialized brethren. One day, you found and saved a small child from one of your rival Masters, whom you have raised as your own. It is your hope to grow old and watch your adopted son grow into the man you know he can become.
Activated ability: Once per game, you may target a player and Track that player. If successful, you will receive a private message at the end of the Night with a result for what action(s) that player took.
Activated ability: Once per game, you may target a player and Watch that player. If successful, you will receive a private message at the end of the Night with a list of what players targeted your Target.
Activated ability: Once per game, you may target a player and Role-cop that player. If successful, you will receive a private message at the end of the Night containing your target's role classification.
Passive ability: You may post in the game thread, and you may vote.
Wincon: You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

Al-Naxys chat:

Fun times.
And the independent literally could not every use his power without losing.
He uses it once and when it gets to final 3 he dies with one vote.
That doesn't work.
I aired grievances in the spec chat.
GG, Scum.
I just think days longer then 2 weeks are just too long for any man
My DJ vote was basically a gambit.
Nobody pointed out that I had said I wanted to lynch Plum but then completely ignored it the next Day. I think my voting pattern was pretty awful then, too, at least until DJ claimed and gave me something solid to hook on to.
What did you see?
My reasoning for doing so was because I thought he was a very strong lynch candidate D2 (not to mention multiple day-opening votes on him).
