For the Seppel meta usage, you answered it yourself, actually - Seppel voted fadeblue based on the questioning thing and brought up examples. I'll sheep your own opinion here.
I agree with fadeblue on the sXe/Silent Prophet read; his first post was extremely passive and he didn't even place a vote on Sir Karn. Lurking + replacing out are all hallmarks of scum as well. I can't get enough of a read on fadeblue and I don't trust Seppel's meta usage, so I'm inclined to /barn fadeblue on all of the reasons he stated.
The problem is that I haven't even stated my reasons yet; I've been waiting for a response to evaluate. His reasoning for being inclined to barn me also seems to indicate that he's wary of Seppel being scum, though I don't see any hint of that in the rest of his posts.
- Seppel continues to tie people together, all stemming from Shock, yet doesn't have much interest in pushing that. First it was Shock + LnG, then it was + me (+ Cantrip?), now it's + Cantrip + Proph. I haven't seen enough of Seppel's game to know if this is typical for him, but it's not quite the same as Amistarian (there are at least traces of his PoE approach remaining). I think the odds are still in favor of him being town, but if he's scum, I feel like Shock was an early bus attempt.
- Despite the size of Cantrip's question walls, I still haven't seen any town tells yet. I also have no idea of his reads or who he's trying to pursue.
Also, don't think I'm actually reading/active if I'm online. Many times I just leave the page open on my computer and leave or don't look at it for hours at a time.
I still don't like the basically-blind following despite this reasoning. While, sure, my success rate in finding scum has been high, you're just looking for a way to not actually scumhunt for yourself.
Where did I say I wasn't going to scumhunt?
I can carry your reads and scumhunt at the same time?
Another problem I have with you is that you only have two reads so far - Shockwave for town, and sXe for scum. Everyone else you either explicitly tell us you're riding the fence on or you just don't say.
Do you really expect me to have a full color-coded reads list on Day 1? As much as I like to believe it is, this is not a clear carbon-copy of my replace-in in MTG Salvation.
I've also been working on keeping my town reads to myself unless they fall under attack or if I'm inclined to do a readwall in the future (no point in telling scum who to kill).
No, but 2 reads out of 11 is extremely low, especially when multiple people even have nearly-full lists already.
"no point in telling scum who to kill" - I believe you mean "I don't want to get rid of my mislynch options for the future (people will find it suspicious if I suddenly start calling my townreads scum)"

This is a dumb reason to have me as town.
Expound upon this, please.
Also, if you have Cantrip and Shockwave as scum, why don't you vote the one with the larger wagon (Cantrip) rather than split up the wagons?
1. I get the feeling you think I'm scum. Why is that?
Also if you read my post (you have demonstrated that you haven't multiple times) you would realize that you're actually neutral at best due to the poor quality of your posts so far. In case you didn't pick up on it I want your T/S list (the "rainbow connection").
2. Because I think shockwave, town or scum, will yield more information; i.e., he's a better D1 lynch in terms of long-term planning. Why do you think I would base my vote on the vote count? Moreover, why do you think that voting where I want to is a bad thing?
Speaking of bad votes, you're voting sxe, who has done exactly one thing across three posts. Did you research him to find if he has a history of replacing out as scum? Because he cited RL issues, and I see no reason to question that.
How about this, I'll do it for you:
CCM VI: Replaced out; cited RL issues; was town
Gotham: Modkilled due to inactivity; cited RL issues; was town
Office: Replaced out; no citation; was town

Why should I care what Rodemy did?
Keep in mind that nobody asked shock to do that. He just did it. Yes, Rodemy asked for a summary of the game. Shock was the one to answer that call.
Why? Because he's having trouble contributing (if that's not clear to you by now, you are bad and should feel bad), and providing a game summary is an easy way to be helpful without providing analysis. That is what scum do.
Oh, I have no trouble believing Shock is scum.
I just find it odd you have to point out that he did the summary, and that he DIDN'T FINISH said summary as reasons for it.
I don't think the "useless questions" thing is a tell, at least not D1; everyone who thinks Cantrip is scum because of it is somewhat silly. (Looking at you Proph...
Let's walk through this for a bit.
First, let's see the questions that Cantrip asked me in his last post.
Quote from Cantripmancer »
What do you mean by "a carbon copy..."?
What do you mean by "Seppel's meta usage"?
What do you mean by "trips over my gut"?
For the first one, "What do you mean by a carbon copy", think through it from a town mindset and a scum mindset.
To ask questions from a town mindset would be to ask questions to Figure Things Out. To ask questions from a scum mindset, on the other hand, would be to ask questions to look like you're contributing.
First off, why would town have any reason to ask this question? How does this question help you in terms of Figuring Things Out?
Hint: It doesn't.
You can see the general trend of asking questions like these in all of Cantripmancer's posts. He asks for clarification and busywork questions, such as
Quote from Cantripmancer »
Why are you "sore off of the others"? Bad experiences? Will you link us to the games you've played on another site?
Are you saying "bad LnGrrrR: Shockwave didn't say he was town" or "gee, I didn't notice that Shockwave didn't say he was town"?
How does Disgaea have anything to do with the price of tea in China?
To the questions he /does/ ask that pertain to Figuring Things Out, such as
Quote from Cantripmancer »
Why FoS when you're not voting someone?
Why are you voting him?
This is pretty much equivalent to policy lynching, and is a Bad Thing. As has been mentioned, why would we pursue players whom we know nothing about rather than a player who's acting scummy?
He never follows up on them - for the last question there, he asks it to Generic, and Generic responds with a "why so mad at me?" Cantrip responds, but he doesn't press the policy lynch question to Generic.
To add to that, why would he be so concerned about a gut read on him? Scum take note when they're being listed as scummy, while town are more inclined to just brush it off and/or ignore it.
Seeing as the sXe wagon isn't going anywhere, I'll sheep the Cantrip wagon.
@ Proph, re the followup thing, I sometimes ask questions and don't press , because I want to wait for a later game state to drop a followup question in hopes they have either forgotten an original answer, or will contradict themselves. (Maybe it is scummy to do that, but I think it is a valid form of scum hunting.)
I will agree that I'm not quite sure what Cantrip is trying to do with his questions, but it's not enough to throw him in the scum like yet.
Another problem I have with you is that you only have two reads so far - Shockwave for town, and sXe for scum. Everyone else you either explicitly tell us you're riding the fence on or you just don't say.

I don't get that feeling at all. I'm just wary when people put me on their town lists right off the bat (as you demonstrated w/the "people I like" category, + the fact that I haven't really "got into this game" yet)
And I'm not giving you the town/scum list yet - maybe when I'm inclined to do so. (Void from Survival Horror says hi)

Why are you more focused on the basis of lynching for information than lynching to actually catch scum?
Assume that Shockwave is mod-confirmed town at the beginning of the game and go through his interactions - /that/ will give you the information you're seeking for.
Re: voting where you want to: It's not a bad thing, but it causes town to lose pace. If you see a scum read of yours being run up, why are you splitting the votes and voting another scum read? Then you have two wagons consisting of three or four votes each, which means no-no for votal analysis + counterwagon shenanigans for the scum.

I did not bother to compile a list of meta prior to voting him.
I scanned through the thread, picked out the passive RVS post, and voted him based on two things - the passive post, and the general wavelength of players who are pressured that replace out (and are scum).

I feel like I quoted this in another game but I'm bringing it out again
Quote from Wessel »
@Seppel: Well, I've said this before, also during the game, but what made me suspicious of you the most was your apparent lack of perceptiveness, and even if you made some observations, you weren't really as persistent in interrogating someone as I know townSeppel can. I don't really remember exactly, but at some point, I think maybe the end of D1 or during D2, that sort of time, there was a point at which you called me out on something I can't quite remember, and I gave a half-answer to it, but you didn't really pursue it (or mention it ever again), while a townSeppel, even if he wouldn't want to talk much more about it, would at least make a small closing statement on it. Maybe it was with regards to my request of Stardust to make a t/s list and that I would come back to it later - you said something about it, I said I would explain later; then you didn't respond to it again, while I would expect townSeppel to just say something small like 'OK' or 'I'll keep you to that'. It's a small thing, but it's more the fact you were apparently willing to loosen the reins a bit with pressuring me made me think you were playing a tad safe. Apart from that, of course, your attempt to get a 'neutral' lynched wasn't the best ever thing to do, but I can forgive it since it was tempting. For the rest I don't think you could have done things much better. Maybe with different players in this game, you might have succeeded as well.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to rodemy for my comments towards him.
I am also going to take a leave of absence from this game because I am neither enjoying the tone nor am I capable of directing anything civil towards several of the players at this time.
If I am lynched before my return... whatever.
Are you replacing out or just going V/LA?
And, if V/LA, how long are you planning on being gone if you can imagine going from zero votes (and many people townreading you) to lynched without you even responding?
For a "carbon copy": Read here.
For the Seppel meta usage, you answered it yourself, actually - Seppel voted fadeblue based on the questioning thing and brought up examples. I'll sheep your own opinion here.
Also, some counter-questions.
Why are you so interested in this in the first place?
What your point of you asking these questions?
Catching up, some points of concern:
- sXe has still posted nothing (though he did mention RL issues)
- I'm uncomfortable with Proph joining me on the sXe vote, based on what he said:
The problem is that I haven't even stated my reasons yet; I've been waiting for a response to evaluate. His reasoning for being inclined to barn me also seems to indicate that he's wary of Seppel being scum, though I don't see any hint of that in the rest of his posts.

@LnGrrrR
Let's walk through this for a bit.
First, let's see the questions that Cantrip asked me in his last post.
He asks for clarification and busywork questions, such as
To the questions he /does/ ask that pertain to Figuring Things Out, such as
He never follows up on them - for the last question there, he asks it to Generic, and Generic responds with a "why so mad at me?" Cantrip responds, but he doesn't press the policy lynch question to Generic.
To add to that, why would he be so concerned about a gut read on him? Scum take note when they're being listed as scummy, while town are more inclined to just brush it off and/or ignore it.
Seeing as the sXe wagon isn't going anywhere, I'll sheep the Cantrip wagon.
Unvote, vote Cantripmancer
I will agree that I'm not quite sure what Cantrip is trying to do with his questions, but it's not enough to throw him in the scum like yet.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
It should be clear by now. We just don't think the same thing.
I'm not misrepping you. I'm just stating how I interpreted what you said.
So you DO intend on "telling scum who to kill." eh?
Do you have an ETA on that? Because right now, to me, it just looks like: "I don't want to get rid of my mislynch options for the future (people will find it suspicious if I suddenly start calling my townreads scum)"
Here's your reaction test from me:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Fair enough, then.
Do you really expect me to have a full color-coded reads list on Day 1? As much as I like to believe it is, this is not a clear carbon-copy of my replace-in in MTG Salvation.
Probably before the end of the day.
Then how come Cantrip doesn't at least acknowledge that they answered the question?
I feel like I quoted this in another game but I'm bringing it out again
Are you replacing out or just going V/LA?
And, if V/LA, how long are you planning on being gone if you can imagine going from zero votes (and many people townreading you) to lynched without you even responding?
So what should we do for now? Duct tape a paper "LyNCh mE!!!" sign to my back?
@FIGHTING: by the way, no I don't think of myself as invincible. In fact quite the opposite. Still waiting to see if I'll see a day two. EVER!
Thanks to Heroes of the Plane Studios for the sigpic.
