Completed one game, in the middle of a second, this would be the start of my third.
Which game was that? I want to go read it, because I think you're just playing defensively, but as I've acknowledged in the past, new players are a very large blind spot for me, so I'm not willing to accept that notion without some evidence.
Famous Historical Figures is Jey's only completed game.
I agree that you're coming across as nervous, Jey, but the fact that you're so aware of that doesn't speak well for you. I realize that your OoG reasons are legitimate - the road test takes its toll on you. However, I think you're tripping over yourself as scum.

"sharking," as i'm defining it, is pulling a completely stupid move in RVS with the express purpose of breaking RVS and moving on with the game. It usually ends up with a wagon on the person who does it, you know, because it's stupid.
named for our very own sharkfinnigan, who loves doing that.
now that you have your answer, would you like to actually comment on the game? Your one-liner on JeY isn't really substantial enough for me.

Cool, so apparently it's trendy not to explain your vote in this game because I did it once.
I guess you can get an excuse because you did it first? (no, you aren't special)
Iso is pushing too hard at nothing.
Meg dodged a simple question from me twice before finally explaining it, then is singling me out to post about what's happening when there are multiple people in this game that have contributed less than I have.
hey let's mass claim by posting our role PMs into the thread
I knew then (and know now) that when role PMs can be posted it usually means that the scum have bulletproof fake role PMs. Even if they didn't, you'd never catch them all this way, and you'd be outing every PR.

I think I am content to announce my vote is now serious.
This line of posts on JeY is awful.
So my two RVS posts about Jey and my follow-up serious pressure post are awful? Tell me more.

Iso is pushing too hard at nothing.
So why aren't you doing something about it?
Here's how I see it:
"Iso is pushing too hard at nothing."
Premise: Iso is pushing too hard at nothing [which makes me think he is town].
Viability: None. Sir Karn would have asked me directly to stop haranguing Jey (unless he's worried about being tied to Jey, which makes sense in a Jey + Karn = scum world) if he believed I were town.
Premise: Iso is pushing too hard at nothing [which I think is null].
Viability: None. Sir Karn would have likely asked my motive if he truly wanted to know why I was pushing Jey as I was. However, being as his comment cast me in a negative light, there is no reason why he would not have followed up with further questioning that I can discern.
Premise: Iso is pushing too hard at nothing [which makes me think he is scum].
Viability: None. Sir Karn would be voting me if he thought I were scum.
Sir Karn's mindset is of someone attempting to not develop an opinion of my alignment. He has literally expressed no view of me except to sling mud at me by telling me my posts are bad. This is not a town mindset. This is the mindset of somebody distancing himself from a known fact. There's only one way Karn can know my alignment in a Basic on Day 1.

JeY's nervousness is null because of her playstyle that I've seen in other games.
I think you're scummy, Iso.
I also think Meg is scummy, and my vote is on Meg.

Vote Iso
If you choose to ignore everything I've said and call my vote omgus, be my guest. It will just make you look worse.
(I don't see any other reason why you would be nervous in playing in a Mafia game with me.)
I don't have a good reply. But I'm not scum, and if you could look me in the eyes you would be able to believe me.
OoG influences are frowned upon in-game, so whether you're being truthful or not, I'm going to have to disregard this.
Fair enough. I'll play it like it is then.
Revision of that reply: I don't have a good reply, but it's early enough in the game that I still believe I have a chance to prove myself regardless.
---
Also so we're crystal clear, despite lynchings and flips and what-not already happening in a game, because it's still on-going it is completely against the rules to still mention anything about it?
JeY's nervousness is null because of her playstyle that I've seen in other games.
Her one complete game and one on-going game? So, pretending for a moment that you're not referencing on-going games (which you shouldn't be :devo:), you're attributing her nervousness to her playstyle.
...but Jey was scum in her completed game.
So Karn, you're defending Jey based on "playstyle" with one completed game, and a scum game at that.
There are all sorts of holes in your defense of Jey.

Why do you suspect Megiddo?
Megs played in a game run by TK-421 where role PMs could be quoted in their entirety. In that game scum were provided with entire false claim role PMs.
A mass claim in this game is as terrible of an idea as it was in that game, because if the mod allows full role quoting, then there are almost certainly protections already in place to prevent it from breaking the game.
Megs was testing the waters. If nobody bites, it becomes "just a RVS shenanigan". If it gains traction, then our PRs are outed.

I am not an advocate of your plan, Megiddo. You know why.
However, claim protocol should involve posting your full role PM.
If anyone disagrees with this, they need to step forward now.
It's funny, Iso acts like he doesn't want to do the mass claim, but then gives the 'correct' protocol and asks anyone if they disagree and acts as if we are going to move forward with it unless anyone disagrees.

Iso is your scumbuddy. Of course he isn't going to string you up.
I think Karn is scum. Iso's "premise/viability" argument structure is rhetorically silly, but Karn overreacted to it tremendously (see: "Megiddo/Iso scum team"), and the true argument to be made there - that "pushing too hard" is a fake scum tell - is strong.
I'm not confident about ER, because I think he could be genuinely misunderstanding Megiddo. I want to let that one sit for a while, along with JeY k.

What are you trying to say with this?
Iso wanted to act like he didn't want to do the massclaim at first, but then he goes on to tell everyone how to do it, and to make a point that we're going to be doing it unless anyone "step[s] forward now."
That's not something someone who didn't want to do it would say by a long stretch.
karn: is it your argument that Iso is in favor of a mass claim?
It's that he tried to pretend that he was against it, but in the same post explicitly directed both how we were going to do it and that we were going to actually do it.
A mass claim in this game is as terrible of an idea as it was in that game, because if the mod allows full role quoting, then there are almost certainly protections already in place to prevent it from breaking the game.

LINE ONE: There are multiple reasons to be against a mass claim. We've covered one. Iso has another, which I won't mention yet, but he knows that I know and he knows that I won't let the game end without it being mentioned. For the time being though, the point is that he's against a mass claim.
LINE TWO: This is where I need to determine whether you're being dense or are scum. Claim protocol is the usual "oh, you hit L-2? Time to claim!" routine that every game has. What Iso is saying is that in this game, where PMs can be posted, we amend that to "oh, you hit L-2? Time to post your role PM!"
How you got that he's pushing a mass claim here is beyond me.
LINE THREE: I'm not sure why he said this given that the claim protocol is blindingly obvious.
If you were to have a problem with this post, I could see you arguing line 1 or line 3. Not line 2.

It's funny, you ignored the word "however" in my post. "However", precluding the previous example of the massclaim given. Meaning "standard claim protocol for this game", not "massclaim protocol". In fact, I directly stated that in the post you quoted. Thank you for misrepping my post.

It looked like you were still talking about the mass claim. What was the point of bringing up regular claim protocol the sentence after talking about mass claiming? It sounds like you're just trying to cover up what I caught you on now.

Let me get this straight.
You've just admitted that you see that Iso was talking about regular claim procedure in line two. You also just said that you see this discussion as trying to "cover up" that Iso was pushing the mass claim.
However, the thing that you construed as him pushing as mass claim is what is below the line. Line two can't be both pushing a mass claim and an irrelevant tangent made to be a distraction away from his push.
Your story doesn't add up. You pulled a thread expecting a sweater to unravel and instead it exploded in your face and now you're backpedaling really badly.
Karn's scum, ER's scum. Not sold on the third yet, but I'll take 2/3 before post 100.

Which game was that? I want to go read it, because I think you're just playing defensively, but as I've acknowledged in the past, new players are a very large blind spot for me, so I'm not willing to accept that notion without some evidence.

I agree that you're coming across as nervous, Jey, but the fact that you're so aware of that doesn't speak well for you. I realize that your OoG reasons are legitimate - the road test takes its toll on you. However, I think you're tripping over yourself as scum.

It's relevant. Why are you so worried about answering it?
I don't think JeY's nervousness is telling of anything.
why the hell would I be worried?
"sharking," as i'm defining it, is pulling a completely stupid move in RVS with the express purpose of breaking RVS and moving on with the game. It usually ends up with a wagon on the person who does it, you know, because it's stupid.
named for our very own sharkfinnigan, who loves doing that.
now that you have your answer, would you like to actually comment on the game? Your one-liner on JeY isn't really substantial enough for me.
I don't have a good reply. But I'm not scum, and if you could look me in the eyes you would be able to believe me.
¤.†.¤ The OceanLink ¤.†.¤
This line of posts on JeY is awful.
I guess you can get an excuse because you did it first? (no, you aren't special)
Iso is pushing too hard at nothing.
Meg dodged a simple question from me twice before finally explaining it, then is singling me out to post about what's happening when there are multiple people in this game that have contributed less than I have.
@Meg:
Did you mean this or was this being silly in RVS?
Iso and I played a game together where role PMs could be posted. One of my earliest posts in that game:
I knew then (and know now) that when role PMs can be posted it usually means that the scum have bulletproof fake role PMs. Even if they didn't, you'd never catch them all this way, and you'd be outing every PR.
Sadly, unlike the last game, people seem to have read the OP.
So my two RVS posts about Jey and my follow-up serious pressure post are awful? Tell me more.
Unvote, Vote Karn
Bring on the OMGUS.
This fishing for reactions makes me believe you are, in fact, town.

I think you're scummy, Iso.
I also think Meg is scummy, and my vote is on Meg.
I don't have two votes.
Your whole line of "Premise / Viability" is crap. You're trying to push that there is only one way to play in each situation, which isn't even close to true in the game of Mafia.

If you choose to ignore everything I've said and call my vote omgus, be my guest. It will just make you look worse.
I was going to tell Karn that Iso wasn't 'pushing nothing' but then Iso beat me to the punch.
Fair enough. I'll play it like it is then.
Revision of that reply: I don't have a good reply, but it's early enough in the game that I still believe I have a chance to prove myself regardless.

Also so we're crystal clear, despite lynchings and flips and what-not already happening in a game, because it's still on-going it is completely against the rules to still mention anything about it?
¤.†.¤ The OceanLink ¤.†.¤
Her one complete game and one on-going game? So, pretending for a moment that you're not referencing on-going games (which you shouldn't be :devo:), you're attributing her nervousness to her playstyle.
...but Jey was scum in her completed game.
So Karn, you're defending Jey based on "playstyle" with one completed game, and a scum game at that.
There are all sorts of holes in your defense of Jey.
A sentiment I can understand.
Okay. Then you'll have no problem walking me through why each scenario is crap, and why my attack on you is enough reason for you to drop your pursuit of Megiddo for the time being.

I'm happy with my vote.

you.
It was a reaction-baiting move, except that I already knew the reactions of two people. Or, rather, I thought I knew. You trying to get me lynched for it is totally weird.

1. If he jumped to Jey's defense then you'd have made the case that he was replying for her. In this case you'd have switched targets to him.*

I'll lynch ER Today.
unvote vote ER
ER has good posts.
It's funny, Iso acts like he doesn't want to do the mass claim, but then gives the 'correct' protocol and asks anyone if they disagree and acts as if we are going to move forward with it unless anyone disagrees.
Iso is your scumbuddy. Of course he isn't going to string you up.
I'm not confident about ER, because I think he could be genuinely misunderstanding Megiddo. I want to let that one sit for a while, along with JeY k.

What are you trying to say with this?
I don't think I've ever seen buddying this early from two scum. I find the likelihood of Iso and Meg both being scum pretty low.
You don't think that I'm commenting on legitimate issues?
Can you elaborate why? It just looks like omgus right now.
ER beat me to it dissecting your crap.
It's not just your attack on me, it's your play overall that made me vote you. I'm not dropping my pursuit on Meg either.
What makes you think that?
Iso wanted to act like he didn't want to do the massclaim at first, but then he goes on to tell everyone how to do it, and to make a point that we're going to be doing it unless anyone "step[s] forward now."
That's not something someone who didn't want to do it would say by a long stretch.
It's that he tried to pretend that he was against it, but in the same post explicitly directed both how we were going to do it and that we were going to actually do it.
That goes for both Meg and Iso.
I like you.
I can not believe that you would legitimately misunderstand this with obvious rhetoric clues included in the very post you are quoting indicating that this is not, in fact, what I mean.

You didn't. And now you're trying to sling mud by saying I misrepped you.
I'm liking Xyre's catch on Karn there.
Saying "I'm town" isn't going to change your opinion of me. I want to know your thought process / reasoning.
Karn says that Iso is pushing a mass claim.
The only discussion of the mass claim in Iso's post was against it.
So, what, Iso's trying to distract from pushing..... against the mass claim?
This is what doesn't add up.
