Any idea if Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is getting picked up again? I mean, it's a miracle we got the adaptation we did, so I'm happy if we stop at Part 3.
What is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure even about? It kinda seems like Weirdness for Weirdness' sake.

Oath of the Gatewatch; the set that caused the competitive community to freak out over Basic Lands.
Does anyone know if there are plans for a season 2 of "Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon?"
I enjoyed what they had so far but I could see it continuing or just leaving off there. It sort of felt like he jumped in power a bit too fast for it to really have much for pacing beyond what they did. By the end of what they had this season it already felt like there wasn't much room for expansion. The power creep of his abilities just seems sort of unfair lol.
Not sure, I mean they did cover a lot of what was printed in the light novels to my knowledge, so it might be a while.
Currently having high hopes for Ushio and Tora and wondering where Toei Animation is stealing budget for Precure again.
Ushio and Tora is gonna be really ******* rad man. First episode was good. The manga was excellent so the story is good. The voice acting has a good mix of very good veterens(RIKIYA KOYAMA!) and new talent in in their first main roles. I'm just generally very stoked for this.
@Slarg, it's about a family that is destined to fight supernatural bad guys bad guys with their unique abilities throughout different periods of time. It's mostly about kicking ass. Everyone likes kicking ass.

AudioTsunami captured some of it. It's a legacy story (imagine if Goku ever really passed the torch to Gohan and then to Pan) about a family (the Jostars) that keeps getting mixed up in the supernatural. Part 1 (Phantom Blood) is about Jonathan Jostar and his nemesis, Dio, as well as a stone mask that turns people into vampires. Part 2 (Battle Tendency) is about Joseph Jostar (my personal favorite) and is about his fight against the creatures that created the stone mask. Both of these are covered by season 1 of the anime, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In both these parts, the humans use a special ability called Hamon to help defeat the monsters.
Part 3-6 are about various other family members and psychic powers called 'Stands' (which are visualized as abstract creatures). Part 3 is covered by seasons 2 and 3, titled 'Stardust Crusaders' (It's the one on Crunchyroll, but make sure to find the first season first). They cover various periods of time (the late 19th century, the 1930s, the 1980s, the 90's and 2000's) and tend to be a horror/action/comedy hybrid with a focus on history (the creator is a huge fan of world travelling and interjects a lot of culture into his locations).
The thing I like about it is that it's rarely about power struggles but instead about thinking on your feet and clever combat strategies (imagine Shikamaru from Naruto). It can also be extremely funny, although Part 3 has a few pretty gross parts (the humor was a little crude).
It's also popular because it has some of the best Magnificent Bastards in Anime/Manga (Dio is extremely popular).
I should also mention that it's one of the longest running manga ever. Next year it will be 30 years.
All three seasons of the anime are up on Crunchyroll. If you're going to watch it, make sure to watch the anime, NOT the OVA of Part 3 (which is separated into two parts done almost a decade apart). I believe there is also a movie adaptation of Part 1. The OVA was the only animated version of the story for a long time, and while it's well animated it's completely absent the humor that makes the story so charming.
Lol, it really turned out to be an unexpected surprise.
Anywayz, if i had to rank the best new anime this season(out of the ones I've seen) I would put it at the following.
1) MY Love STORY 9.5/10
2) I can't understand what my husband is saying (season 2) 9/10
3) High School DxD Born (season 3) 9/10
4) Fate/Stay Unlimited Blade works. 8.5/10
5) Punch Line 6/10
with the caveat that if you're under 24, don't watch I can't understand what my husband is saying.
I went back and watched "MY Love STORY" this weekend. It was quite amusing lol. I had a hard time bringing myself to watch it but I really enjoyed it when I sat down finally and put it on.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I feel like this season is off to a really slow start as well
The action animes are just sort of meh right now. I tend to like a well put together action anime and I just haven't been as impressed of late with what we have been getting. It feels like we have been getting more shameless anime of late and less quality which is really unfortunate.

So.. I've watched some of Dragonball Super. It looks like they're doing a straight up remake of the Battle of the Gods. More detail, obviously, but I'm disappointed it doesn't take place after Revival of F.

It's not really a big action season tbh. Other stuff has been fine. Godeater could pick up. Gangsta is great. Overlord can pick up. But thaat's kinda it for action.
Is anyone seeing anything they would suggest watching? I am mostly open to good anime in general but sometimes I pick up and look at anime like I do books which causes me to overlook some.

I think one way they started off on the right foot with me is that the story is mostly told from the perspective of a guy; and not just your standard angsty anime guy with all kinds of internal battles, or some kind of pretentious son of wealth or power, just a simple good natured dude narrating a shoujo story with his thoughts.

Dragonball Super, while currently remaking the Battle of the Gods movie, is actually really funny. Episode 1 featured Goku trying to farm and Episode 2 featured a Briefs family vacation.
Only problem is that it's not currently simulcast. You might find episodes up on Youtube or something.
Durarara has pretty great characters foremost, with some good action now and then and fun plot twists. That and Gangsta are all that my wife are following so far this season.
I'm watching Shokugeki no Souma. So far I find it good and really interesting. About Durarara, this one counts as season 3 and there's already an incoming season 4. But for now, I'm not watching anime, I'm working on my Hakuoro cosplay while listening to vocaloid music.

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?
Is that case "You won't need to worry about finding other shows to watch for awhile because with over 900 episodes out it'll take roughly 2 weeks of Clockwork Orange style viewing to catch up?
I don't mind the art. It's the same art style as Love Complex. Which is totally a great show.(I probably should rewatch it so I can read the manga to finish the story. it ends about 20 chapters short.)
I watch and read entirely too much Shoujo and I get a lot of them confused though.
Trapped in an MMO, with a twist, but that setup is kind of just a gloss over an otherwise interesting concept, that being, what if a MMO raid left the dungeon and started doing ***** in the outside world.

The Hero and the Demon King, it's like neo-liberal economic policy jumped onto Tolkien and had a gruesome love affair. It's not bad, but the fan service and love triangle get in the way of some of the better concepts that would have been better developed.

Yeah, I've watched about half of it before I got distracted/bored/something and dropped it. I really liked the premise of the two sides working together for longterm benefits, but it was just clunky. It's one of those shows that I keep meaning to finish up, I'm at the start of episode 9 according to crunchyroll, but just.. ehh. Most of the interesting ideas about preventing war through economic stability, and the incentives of war via Maoyu's Military Industrial Complex stuff (the thing with the poor kingdom needing the war to carry on because otherwise the rich people wont give them food) is interesting, but also comes out pretty early.
Anything notable in the last couple episodes?
Log Horizon and, to a weird/lesser extent, The Devil is a Part Timer both did more interesting things with the idea of, respectively, rapidly advancing fantasy world and how our world looks to others.
Gate, also running this year, is interesting for another way. Basic premise is that a portal to another world opens up in Japan and an invading force comes out of it... only to be quickly defeated because guns are a thing. Then Japan sends an expeditionary force into this fantasy world. My takeaway is that its an interesting look at power disparity between factions, although it comes off a bit gratuitous the 7th time a bunch of dudes on horseback get shot with artillery.
Outside of political stuff, Shokugeki no Soma is tons of fun, especially if you like cooking.
I originally watched the first episode of Overloard and just stopped watching. The plot and concept are hardly anything new really after getting so many variations of this. However I ended up watching episodes 2-6 last night and I guess I will say that it has its own charm. The first episode mostly sucks so you really need to watch about 3 episodes I feel to give it a decent chance because the start is really slow and sort of boring.
