Finally got around to watching the Darker than Black dvd I bought a while back, and thoroughly enjoyed it- so I bought the first season. I may get the second season if I like how it progresses.
Fair warning the second season is definitely worse. Still maybe worth watching, but worse.

Don't. The troll that is Hei is replaced as out protagonist by some whiny little girl, all Contractors are suddenly sociopathic autists and the series contains all of the following:
- Old alcoholics beating up little girls
- Little girl belly dancing
- Little girl being stalked by a 10+ years older guy
Basically, if you liked DtB1 for one or more of the following reasons, you shouldn't tarry your memories of that series.
1: You liked the diverse personalities of the Contractors and liked to see their powers
2: You liked the team dynamics of Hei and company
3: You liked the mission-oriented layout of the series
4: You liked how an episodes started out with some story, and then suddenly Hei
5: if you liked moments of heartwarming like this one

We have laboured long to build a heaven, only to find it populated with horrors.
So, in line with my tradition I'm starting to watch Kill la Kill and Attack on Titan dubbed. I loved both of the series, so as per usual I watch an episode or 2 of the dub and if its not garbage I'll rewatch the series. The dub quality on both is very good, but I seriously did not expect to hear Ragna when Gamagori made his entrance. I'm actually looking for another series to watch, since I finished rewatching Bebop again, and I feel like rewatching more series would do my brain harm.

I watched a bit of Kill La Kill. Seriously, what is wring with that anime? All I see is madness about transforming clothes. At least, it gets points for it's originality. And right now, I'm watching Black Bullet, Noragami and many other animes. My watchlist is growing by the day... Not enough free time to watch them all. Game suggestion of the day: Conception 2. This game is on the 3DS and the Vita, offers anime style cinematic and is a wierd crossover of japanese dating sim, Dark Cloud and RPG (not Rocket Propelled Grenade, but Role Play Game). This game is addictive... must... level... up... relations... and...city...

I didn't like the AoT dub, still need to check the KlK dub but i doubt it's anygood because of how over the top the japanese was.
It won a Tokyo Anime Award in 2002, it was one of five winners along with Ojamojo Doremi Sharp, One Piece, Hikaru no Go, and Fruits Basket. I'm not a humongous fan regardless, but lots of people liked it somewhere.

Hunter x Hunter... Loved it before knowing YuYu Hakusho. Seriously, HxH includes the fighting from the shonen mangas and ther darkness that can be only foujnd in seinen mangas (specially in one of the later arcs). Did you guys knew the author married the author of Sailor Moon and fought Cancer? Any author who manage to live with cancer and keep it's familly together is a god! By the way, only a few days before the Otakuthon! My Tetsusaiga is finished! Made the in the sheat form for the more relaxed poses and the big fang sword for the action poses! I will be wearing my Necomimi's with the white ear cover (or a head band with white ears when replacing the batteries). Alternate cosplay for more relaxed moments (like the sunday brunch): I will bring my black necomimi ears and my black cat tail. I expect to spend enough on animes and get myself a Nobuo/Arny autograph on my Distant Worlds cds as well as an autograph from Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan, I also get to brunch with her sunday). For anyone who will go to the Otakuthon at the same time as me, let's meet up! I'm using my usual nickname: Soriel.

It truly is one of the gems of modern anime. A shonen show that doesn't rely on the same tired tropes that made Naruto and Bleach get boring after their first couple of arcs.
Absolutely monstrous stuff here and there
I'm looking at you Hisoka
but its a series that is, basically, the author creating interesting characters and then sending them off to go do their thing. One arc has what looks to be a pretty standard anime arc, but it doesn't make sense for the cast to actually do what usually happens so they just, like, leave after a certain point and it isnt revisted. The series, for lack of a better word, just feels real. Its almost like a reconstruction without the deconstruction
except, of course, the chimera arc... which is simultaneously the best example of what happens when someone basically turns into a god level being while, at the same time, being a condemnation of ass pull ***** like going super saiyan
Having watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica for a fifth time, I don't find myself wondering why it holds up so well after so many viewings in the past 3½ years (because it just does), but I do find myself wondering what's stopping me from watching it a sixth time, right now.
I can understand claims that it's overhyped, since so much of the experience is visceral/affective, and if you look at it from a certain angle you can draw the conclusion that its depth is an illusion. I can put into words what I think of each of the characters, I can put into words how I think episode 10 is one of the greatest episodes of TV ever produced, and I can put into words why I think Urobuchi's storytelling is due more praise than criticism...but I honestly can't find the words for how a series that I can admit may be a touch overhyped (or god forbid overrated) affects me on such a deep, personal level.

Ooooooh.
You, sir, are in for a treat. HxH is a masterpiece. Contemplate on this while watching "does Gon live in a seinen or shonen universe"
Anything beyond that is spoiiiiiiilers.
He has been writing hunter x hunter since 1998, 16 years. YYH, respectively, took him 4 years. It is an incredibly ambitious work.
