I have found it worth watching but have a bit mixed feelings on it still. It seems like its decent enough but I have concerns that this is not going to resolve things quickly at the pace they are going with. My biggest concern is that it might have plans to be another naruto sort of thing as overall their pace is extremely sluggish.

There's no way Steins;Gate is overrated... When I first watched it, it was from my roomates dvd collection, and I watched the whole show in like 3 days. I can't think of a single of anime in recent memory that had me so excited, and enthralled, I just couldn't stop watching. Super original, there really isn't anything quite like it.

Not just the Tendo King, the power of the Galactic Leyline surpasses that of the Tempa Emperor, No!, It's magnificent power is even greater than that!
I've started watching World Trigger after that one guy said it was terrible and I'm really digging it. Looks like they are conserving the animation budget for when things matter although there were a couple moments of "phone psychic making funny noises to prolong a call" kind of nonsense in one of the headquarters sections where people just kept making eye contact during a deliberation.
I still can't quite figure out what the 3 lines eye thing is supposed to be, so I've been treating it as Kuga trying to become become blank and expressionless, but then standing out.
Oh, and when he tells the Agent in episode 8 or so "you say the funniest lies" I about lost it. This show is a gem and I'm enjoying it
I know. As for the three lines, your guess is as good as mine! My guess is, he's chilling there, as if he wasn't involved in the situation and he's involved in reallity. Would make sense since both Kuga and Jin does that face from time to time. If you want more enjoyement, the anime closelly follows the manga so far, you might want to read it too.

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?

It seems like its decent enough but I have concerns that this is not going to resolve things quickly at the pace they are going with. My biggest concern is that it might have plans to be another naruto sort of thing as overall their pace is extremely sluggish.
Plus the main three people are practically Team 7 with their personalities moved around.
Kuga is Sasuke but with Kakashi's relaxed personality (More like Gon, but I'm going to with T7 comparisons)
Chika is Naruto's power level with Sakura's demeanor
Audience Surrogate bro has Sakura's power level with a mostly Naruto demeanor
It's also very bleach in how they have their weapons (trigger vs black trigger is pretty reminiscent of Bankai power differentiation, even though the activation is different)
What really sells the show for me though, is how it plays with things. The humor, a lot of it anyway though, seems to be influenced by a writer who enjoys Western comedy. I'm up to episode 15 and I swear I've seen a few jokes very similar in python. Like the Pizza Delivery gag shots. I dunno how to describe it. A lot of the stuff with that 5 year old and his Capybara strike that kind of nerve as well.
To me, World Trigger is an action series (wait till they reach the heavy action arc that's comming) with it's serious situations, but with really funny situations on the side. I prefer the humor in World Trigger more than the humor from Naruto. Plus, I don't think they are going to make it the second Naruto. It would make a pretty boring mainstream show if I had to say my advice to producers. Yes, it's a serialised manga of 9 volumes (10 if we count the weekly serialisation) and it has an anime planned of 50 episodes (according to Wikipedia, confirmed on anichart and we are at episode 18 now). We have seen around half of the anime by now. My guess is, they want to finish it in one go, working with the author and they might be trying for a 1-2 finish by ending the manga and the anime at around the same time. So far, World Trigger is the manga, but with the omakes added in it.

On Steins;Gate, dude you can see the route branches from the VN. It's incredible overrated. It's a vn harem anime with time travel and bad science. Is it good, yes, it's hella good. But it's not best anime of all time and it's not all that close. It's incredible popularity is astonishing. The amount of hyperbole and it's popularity easily give it an overrated tag. Overrated isn't really a bad thing, but it's kind mostly a fact that it's overrated. Do you know what else is overrated? TTGL. Guess what? I ******* LOVE TTGL. But i recognize it gets some ridiculous hyperbole thrown it's way.
I need to read the tokyo ghoul manga cause the anime leaves too much out.
I had really hoped that season 2 of the anime was going to kick it up a notch. It has felt more or less slow to me though. I still like it but it has gone down in my own priorities this season.

This is the weird thing. I totally disagree that it is overrated, and I would honestly say it is one of the best anime. It is in my top 2. For sure. I'd recommend it over Death Note, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop (this I can see people calling overrated, it didn't age well), AoT(I'd consider this the most overrated show ever), TTGL, and a lot of other shows. True it might not appeal to everyone, but in it's niche, it'd say it's the best I've seen. I don't see any glaring problems with it, it wasn't one track, I've felt a legitimate range of emotion (and not one of those "I only felt sadness at the end cause I know it was the last episode" a la DBZ or whatever). It was:
1. Incredibly well done.
2. Not "that" hyped. I don't think I've seen people who regard it as highly as I do, so I wouldn't consider it over-hyped. Seriously, how many times have you heard it called the best anime ever? Now how about DBZ, Bleach, Naruto, OP, AoT, SAO, Death Note, Code Geass, Cowbow Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Clannad, TTGL,... I've heard them all named the "best anime ever" but not S;G.
Steins;Gate is the #2 ranked show on MAL and the 15th most popular. On AniDB it's ranked 9. Anytime I've talked to "non-plebs"(defined as anyone who's watched 1 non-Toonami anime), S;G is almost always the first or second anime mentioned(Code Gaess, Steins, and Angel Beats are probably the most popular non-CN shows). It's really not that well done. It's basically just a straight adaptation without any real effort to try to hide what it was adapted from. It's a VN adaptation with the routes still left in, and not only does it just follow it straight up, it follows the OTE, something that Shuffle! did a really good job not doing(but Shuffle! is a way worse anime then S;G for other reasons, but I found it very cool that they went one of the super undercover routes). It's basically Clannad with Time Travel.
I think it's good but not the best. Not really even close. Overrated.
Ehh, mentioning MAL and AniDB rankings is a bit off though from an argumentative standpoint. Places like this are bastions of the Otaku.
It's not like your average person who, like, ******* adores DBZ or Naruto is going onto those sites to plug it. Steingate has quirky time travel shenanigans and is popular with a good subsection of the anime fanbase
Are Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Hunter x Hunter (2011) also overated? They are the 1 and 3 slot on MAL.

Something being overrated just means that they are rated higher than they deserve. In Audio's opinion, they could totally deserve at least their 1 and 3 rating. Being highly rated is not what defines if something is overrated.
@AudioTsunami, we'll have to disagree on this. I haven't changed my mind and I doubt you have either. I do, however, understand why you might feel that way. I don't hear about S;G nearly as much as you do, (you seem to hear about it as much as I hear about FMA). I didn't see (although I am no expert in the topic) anything coming from the VN side of the story. I did however, know before watching it, but if I hadn't, I don't think I could have guessed. I don't know what OTE is, nor have I seen Shuffle!, so I can't comment there.

All I got from this was that it was a simple, well executed concept, adapted from one of the best VN's of all time. Some people may be under the mistaken belief that Steins Gate was "complex" or "deep". I actually think that it's a very sweet, human show about how much people are willing to sacrifice of themselves to help those they love. It's very simple, the animation seems clean for the most part and the aesthetic seems to hold well across a large audience, the sound design was objectively pretty quality stuff, and the characters were quirky and kind of fit within their mold while still avoiding becoming caricatures of it. It's just a very well executed anime. And that in and of itself is rare with the amount of product that is put out.
It's on my 3x3 and I very much enjoy it, and part of that is that it has very few faults in execution. It also does a good job of portraying its characters as human, something that is lost very often in anime. Even slice of life anime these days seem to typically have people who are larger than life, which is the reason I enjoy simple SoL like Non Non Biyori as well.
If you are curious my 3x3 currently consists of Monogatari Series, Steins Gate, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Katanagatari, Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Yu Yu Hakusho, No Game No Life, and Silver Spoon. Judge from my tastes as you wish.
Hunterxhunter might be underrated. Fma is overrated by a lot yeah.
I don't think the characters are very human at all in steins;gate. Maybe more so then the ones in welcome to the nhk, aka a ridiculously mediocre sol show.
NHK is mediocre. I had to really really fight off dropping it on more than one occasion simply because the characters were too annoying. I understand the point of having damaged/extraordinarily flawed characters but they have to also be likable. NHK didn't have likable characters, they were too needy.
I don't think we really like anime that is different, I like Steins;Gate, I just don't think it is this great SoL masterpiece that everyone else seems to think it is. It's a well-written harem with decent characters and some science fiction to keep it interesting.
The main draw of NHK is that people see themselves in the main character, but I really have a tough time imagining someone so pathetic(as the character or as someone who could honestly relate to him without some serious self-esteem issues). I don't think saying that "NHK is mediocre" is abrasive at all.
I'm rather disapointed in Isuca. I've picked up the manga and the anime is going towards a completely different direction. Plus, the manga is more fast paced compared to the anime.

Most animes only last one season (12-13 episodes). So they're short and sweet. If you're looking to commit to a franchise anime with a ton of episodes, then that's a totally different beast (ie One Piece, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Inu Yasha, Gundam, etc) but unless the anime is so good that it warrants a second season or third or fourth, most animes will only get 1 season. And then even if there are subsequent seasons, you're not obligated to watch them.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by significantly? Significantly more realistic characters or more significant characters that are realistic.
Usagi Drop I feel is far more realistic, but only really has 2 significiant characters.
I also felt Hourou Musuko was both more realistic and had more significant characters that were realistic.
Chihayafuru, Nana, and Hanasaku Iroha also all felt more realistic.
I also disagree that S;G is the best V/N ever, although it is a good one.
Fixed that for you.
There are ways to disagree without being so abrasive.
