Saw it ont he editor's page: Yen Press. I love ordering light novels from Yen Press since you can delve deeper than what the anime show you. I started reading and buying Log Horizon and No Game No Life last week. Gosh does it make some good read! Anyway, back on subject. This season is clearly overestimated. Some animes are good, but most is down the gutter.

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?
It is driving me crazy that it feels like everything is weekend release too this season. There are a few that come out during the week but almost none of it I watch. Ace of Diamonds is on a Monday schedule now and otherwise I am Friday - Sunday on everything else.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

I just finished Gurren Lagann. Overall rating A-. My only gripe with it is that I disagree with the direction the storyline went for some of the characters. But storyline gripes are just differences of opinion.
Gurren Lagann is one of those rare anime that's good fundamentally. Whether you agree with the direction the storyline took, the fact remains there's depth of Characters, quality of Characters, an engaging and fascinating plot (some might call it epic), excellent pacing, phenomenal energy, and good artwork.
The actual canon sequel to Dragon Ball Z is finally coming:
I have some fond memories of my childhood with DBZ but honestly I dont think I would watch a new rendition unless it changed so dramatically that it did not resemble the original. I just cant enjoy 20 episode long power ups as an adult. If they were to compress some of it and really go on more of a plot that wasn't super repetitive and the same I would be interested but just pumping out anime to pump out anime wont fly with me now.

It was respectable. Its sort of in the same line of type of anime as FLCL in my mind. I have watched both and both are not my type of anime but I respect those who do appreciate them. In my mind a closer example is probably Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill as the art and style of stories resembled each other in my mind. I tend to watch them but generally speaking they don't really vibe with me as well as they do others.
If you enjoyed it and have not seen it I would suggest moving to Kill la Kill next as its probably the most comparable to Gurren Lagann as I can come up with.

So I guess what you're trying to say is that you'd like this new rendition of the series to be more like the first Dragon Ball series which focused more on storyline and character development as opposed to the usual Dragon Ball Z formula of bringing in a character whose really strong that all the Z Warriors go to fight against only for Goku to come in and save the day while leaving all the other Z Warriors behind in the dust. Dragon Ball GT tried to accomplish both aspects of this 18 years ago but without Akira Toriyama at the helm it was a recipe for disaster.
FUNimation also tried to condense 20 episode long power ups with Dragon Ball Z Kai but failed miserably due to the replacement of some of the original voice actors while the absence of Bruce Faulconer didn't help matters much either. I'd much rather prefer If they hadn't used CGI animation for Dragon Ball Z Kai yet it's somewhat understandable for Battle of Gods and Resurrection "F" considering that it's brand new especially with this new rendition which takes place right where Resurrection "F" left off in the series.

I would honestly rather they alter it to focus on the concept of DBZ or a single chapter of DBZ and find a way to not just stretch out fights forever. I honestly felt like a lot of the time the enemies felt redundant and unnecessary.

Sailor Moon was the show that really got me into anime, and I found I couldn't stomach the new rendition of it.
Anywayz, thanks for the suggestions. I've already seen Kill La Kill. Stylistically Kill La Kill and Gurren Lagann were very similar. I think those two and FLCL were all made by Gainax. I thought Gurren Lagann to be the best out of the three. The formula worked well. I thought Kill La Kill was a little overrated, but I did not think that of Gurren Lagann.
Kill La kill was a little off to me. The characters were a little too weird. They went full retard. I couldn't relate.
It felt like I was watching a bunch of crazies doing crazy things with a plot that was just crazy twisted.
In Gurren Lagann, it felt like watching a bunch of over the top characters doing epic things in an epic storyline.
Is there anyone who would recommend a top 3 of last season to me? I watched "Your lie in April" and Ace of Diamond and Baby Steps. I usually can't stand just watching 1 episode a week, so i'd love to binge on something good.
I started "Pickup girls in Dungeon". I like it but i typically like anime/video game feels to shows.

My one and two slots last season would definitely be Parasite and Your lie in April. I would spend the time to go through a few episodes of Parasite and see how you like it as it was incredibly good as a whole. I don't have a #3 that stands out offhand.

I'm confused because you asked for last season and then name dropped stuff from this season. If you want completed stuff from last season or almost completed stuff I'd go with starting Kuroko No Basket from the beginning or yatterman. Everything else was average at best. I guess you could do both seasons of tokyo ghoul. My favorites this season are Ore Monogatari, wish upon plaiedes, and
Kekkai Sensen.
I cant think of the name of it right now but there was a space mech show thats not so new but it picked up a second season. I felt the first season was really good and I remember running through it very fast. I cant remember the dang name of it offhand but it was good and its sort of a space mechs vs outer space monsters that want to destroy their ship.
Are you talking about that CG one that's on Netflix?
This feels like you were talking about sidonia no kishi. The sequel is airing and it's awesome
Technically Parasite is carryover from Fall, but finished in Winter... I really liked Parasite as well, so I'd recommend that. I don't know what is relevant to your interests, but I watched:
Assassination Classroom - Very good. Still ongoing. Death Parade - Very interesting concept. I really enjoyed it. Dog Days Season 3 - If you watched Seasons 1 & 2 and liked them, then you'll like Season 3 since it's more of the same thing. Durarara Season 2 - Similarly if you liked Durarara Season 1, you'll like Season 2 (season 3 this summer) Isuca - Ecchi harem anime. Not terrible. Koufuku Grafitti - Cooking anime. Very cute. I enjoyed it immensely. Shinmai Maou no Testament - Another ecchi harem anime. That's all you'd really be watching it for... Tokyo Ghoul Season 2 - Continuation from Season 1. Diverges from manga a bit though which is awkward. Dunno if I liked it more or less because of it. Season 3 pending. Yuri Kuma Arashi - Literal translation is Lily Bear Storm... Yuri is also has the double meaning for girl on girl... It's very good if you liked Penguin Drum. If you don't like very metaphorical anime, then it's not for you. One reviewer said it's a 10 if you like this kind of anime, but for everyone else they'd give it a 5. So watch Lesbian Bear Storm at your own discretion...
Top 3 stand alones would be:
1. Koufuku Grafitti for cuteness
2. Death Parade for concept
3. Shinmai Maou no Testament for oppai
Including everything, Assassination Classroom would be #1, then Koufuku Grafitti, then Dog Days S3..
This feels like you were talking about sidonia no kishi. The sequel is airing and it's awesome
That was the one. I really liked it at first but it feels sort of odd since late in season one. I still enjoy it but I feel like I liked the start of the series more than I have so far the middle part where we are now.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I just shotgunned through the first 17 episodes of Fate/Stay Nite Unlimited on crunchyroll.
Let me say this, so far the anime is living up to its hype of being the most gorgeous anime I've ever seen.
As for the actual story and characters. Engaging, well done, very good but not great.
Overall though, very enjoyable, and made with great care and detail. I give it an A.
This season i have been liking Kekkai sensen, Denpa Kyoushi, and how to pick up girls, and am still liking Grisaria no Kaijitsu s2, Nisekoi s2.
They all seem to have interesting styles, great plots, and good quality.
There are a few other good ones, but at this moment these are my most highly rated.
Just watched the first three episodes of Death Parade. I hated the first two with a passion. The third was a bit better. I may actually think about watching the entire thing if it's more like that one.

Death Parade really wasn't great. I love Death Billiards, Death parade was just kind of a train wreck.
Yeah. I watched the rest of it yesterday. It had some good moments, but the plot was a complete and utter mess.
EDIT:
To expand: it's a shame, because I really wanted to like it. It reminded me of the last few episodes of Haibane Renmei in all the good ways. The core concept was so promising, but instead of focussing having a duo of the week and finding out about their lives, they made it about Mr NoEmotions number 60459 and the standard anime cast of the tower. I would've loved to see more about t
I tried watching the first two episodes and just didn't really see what they were going to do from an episode to episode basis that I would be interested in. The idea is a bit unique but it just didn't interest me much.

Kekkai Sensen.
I'm digging World Trigger currently, one of the few things I'm watching weekly. Kuroko's Basketball is my current "marathon this *****" anime.
When suernatural battles become commonplace was good. Log Horizon, SAO Season 2
Yowamushi pedal was pretty fantastic.

I agree. They should've cut the plot about the emotionless stoic completely and stuck to the 'learn about these people and their lives'.
