Considering that I, like many Heroes fans, bailed in Season 3, not at all excited. Heroes doesn't deserve to be revived.
There have been many shows that were excellent and yet still were cancelled. Heroes was not one of them. I recommend everyone rally to support the shows that are actually worth saving.
With the recent Don't Trust the B- in Apartment 23 cancellation, I would actually be infuriated if Heroes returned.
I would be interested in a reboot, using mostly the same characters, but nothing else really. The show was close to being great on multiple occasions, but missed the mark every time.
Heroes was cancelled because it got really bad, really fast. It wasn't some evil act by the network or a series that was critically acclaimed but failed to meet financial expectations. It was a complete disaster because the writing team did a terrible job starting with season 2, which escalated tremendously in season 3. They proved they had zero competence to run the story.
So no, I don't want a season 5 of Heroes. A reboot that shares the same themes, maybe some characters, but is written by a completely different team that knows what they are doing? Perhaps.
Personally i'd be interested in a different cast (maybe some cameos for nostalgia) using the premise left at the end of the fourth season. It could lead to some interesting storylines.
I'd also prefer if it was written by another team too.
The writing actually started to get pretty bad in S1. I know that HRG was a hugely dynamic character(one of the best on the show for most of it, even though he was a normal human), but the episode in S1 where he died would have been infinitely more meaningful if he just..stayed dead. All of that build up, and then they just revived with him 'super blood transfusion'. Completely pointless.
And that sums up the entire show. There were many moments like that, where it was close to being great, but ultimately just let us down.
They just obviously didn't have a multi-season story arc in mind when they wrote the show, so they tried to ret-con certain parts to accommodate multiple seasons.
How is this even a question right after Alphas gets cancelled?
Heroes died because they wrote like a comic book but didn't direct like a comic book. And/or people don't want comic books from their televisions (maybe).

You just made me realize how many comic serie's plots are actually really bad if they weren't written as comic books.

Don't Trust the B---- was starting to go downhill really fast too. They needed to double-down on the wrongness, a la Archer, but they swung it towards generic inoffensive sitcom instead. Also, Van der Beek almost seemed to be taking over as the main character.

"Company Man" was the last good episode of Heroes. I find it best to consider the rest of season one semi-canonical, and ignore the subsequent seasons entirely.

I know, right? Alphas was consistently excellent. I guess the argument can be made that Alphas was a very different show precisely because it wasn't written like a comic book at all.

It was consistently excellent after it got going, the early half of the first season was a slog to get through and I was incredibly biased towards wanting to like it.
I must have said "But why?" for like 10 minutes straight after I heard about this. I quit watching midway through season 2 and didn't regret it. It's a shame that such a cool show started sucking so soon.
Eh, I'm interested. Mostly in seeing if they can make it work. The characters were frustratingly stupid and the show in general went downhill over time, but I feel like it has a lot of potential. I hope they use completely new characters and a new arc. Plan long term. Avoid writers' strikes (I vaguely remember this being one of the things blamed for heroes demise). I'm not sure they would call it heroes reborn if they were going that far though.
Mostly I'm interested in a fairly serious show with series-long story arcs about superpowers. Because that ***** is fun to think about... Heroes sometimes got close, but every episode my brother and I (we started up partway in and caught up fast) got frustrated by people doing seriously stupid ***** or being too pathetic. I don't mind flawed characters, but let's not make everyone's flaw idiocy. I do think Heroes got closest though in that genre to a workable show. They have to realize it needs tweaking to not flop again (unless they just need a year or two to buy time for something new, lol..); I hope they don't chicken out and end up with the same thing.
I dont think we need Heroes anymore, just watch Arrow
I don't know about that man. Arrow has it's own set of problems.
I also really enjoyed the theme of connections that the Heroes' writers implemented into the storyline. It was a very complex web of relationships that existed in comics but translated pretty darn well into a television series.
Are you caught up on Arrow? The last few episodes have been absolutely explosive and I cannot wait until Wednesday
They've picked up the pace. Still, the story writing is meh. Birds of prey and suicide squad coming up might change things up but even still, the acting makes me cringe every time.

Swarms of recent recent rumors of Heroes returning but via original programming by Microsoft. Now, not focusing on that the question is more like
How excited would people be for another season (or 5) of Heroes? Last time I checked, the seasons ratings were plummeting by season 3.

Claire's adoptive father (HRG stands for the Horn-Rimmed Glasses he's known for wearing IIRC)
Ahh, Noah Bennett.
I didn't understand the acronym.

I thought it was the other way around.
Heroes, even in S1, was about the slow build and reveals while Arrow is significantly faster paced.
