Well this sucks. The Chiefs are out on the D-Jax sweepstakes and apparently the Chiefs are going WR in round 1. I had hoped Sanders or Jackson would sign and we'd be free to draft some defensive talent. I was mostly hoping for a pass rusher or free safety mostly. Hali isn't going to be around forever and we could definitely use some depth in our pass rush. Everyone seems to love Sanders Commings (drafted then spent last year injured) though so maybe he'll pan out as a starting Free Safety.
I like Steve Smith in Baltimore. I don't see Jackson signing with Carolina. They released Smith for the same reasons the Eagles released DeSean. It wouldn't make sense, even if it's a glaring need.
I don't like how some article on some random site holds so much bearing on this guy's reputation. As far as I know he's never even been arrested. The only thing he's guilty of is having at least one friend who is a gang member (and was acquitted of murder). I definitely want a dynamic play-making receiver on my team.
True but I also don't like the Los Angeles police officer confirming Jackson throwing up Crip gang signs in-game (from game video) and there are also two confirmed Twitter photos of him throwing it up. If he's not with the Crips or have a friend, why is he throwing up the signs? I know a gang like the Crips doesn't take too kindly to non-members feigning membership.
Finally started working on the first of 2 mock drafts (picks 3-5 are really going to determice where chips fall, hence why im going to do two). THis is what I have done so far on the first:
