Doing pretty well so far, let's see if Marleau can keep his streak going, he's really been on fire lately.
Were still missing Brent Burns, which is a shame but honestly the team is looking pretty good. Admittedly we haven't faced a really good team, the best team the Sharks faced off against imo is the Canucks.
They do play the Blackhawks on Feb. 5, so that should be one to watch for sure.
the Habs continue to surprise me as they're now 6-2.
It seems that having a healthy line up really helps us but part of me can't ignore the fact that they've had a relatively easy schedule so far this season

Yup. Markov healthy and playing like he is makes this team better in every way. It's amazing to see the difference with him in the lineup. Will he last the entire season is the big question.
Out shooting the opponent ~3/1 and getting the lead with 34 seconds left in play and still losing...only the Calgary Flames
That's why you don't make Hossa (or Kane for that matter) angry by doing silly little things like getting a lead.
In other news Curtis Glencross just missed another empty net.
But seriously the Calgary game is one of a few games this year for the Blackhawks where they just either don't seem interested in playing or are just plain tired, yet even when half-assing it they still come up with a win or a tie because they just have more talent then the other team or Hossa decides he can win a draw and then kill a 5 on 3 all by himself*. It's like watching the Miami Heat if they were a hockey team.
*I am not even kidding, Hossa literally killed off a 5 on 3 by himself.

I think that the shortened season is to his (and our matter) advantage because he won't screw us over as bad if he gets hurt. I hope he lasts the whole season but I can't guarantee much anymore.

the flames literally cannot buy a win, like a 3-3 tie going into the 3rd? why not give up 3 goals.

Maybe the new management is working better now.
Oh for sure the management is much better, but it could not have gotten worse right (Gomez pick up was classic). If Markov goes down at any point then the Canadians will fall see: NHL season 2011:2012

Ive yet to here anyone give Therrien any credit and imo he's the driving force behind their success thus far.

That's because he hasn't done much of anything. The lines are essentially the same as last year except the rookies are really playing well (gardiner and Galchenyuk) and Markov is in the line up. Remove these 3 and you have the team from last year which was epically bad.

Completely disagree. Therrien is known for turning teams in to defensively responsible units. He did the very same in Pittsburgh so to say he hasnt done anything is absurd. The lines in LA were essentially the same until they brought in Sutter and look what happened....the team went on to have one of the most dominant postseasons ever. Coaches and schemes matter too.

agreed, however the kings' run can also be attributed to Carter as well, but Sutter's body of work isn't too bad, taking the Flames to a game 7 in the finals and the kings to their cup.

I thought the size call ups Nolan and King added were more effective than Carter but my point still remains valid. Some coaches just get more from their players.

that's one thing I found Martin lacked in MTL, the ability to get value from players.
I mean look at cammalleri, started doing well as soon as he went back to Calgary, yet he was lackluster in Montreal
worst move Gauthier ever did was trading him, and that's saying something

gauthier was a terrible GM, trading Halak, who had just carried the team to the ECF, for Lars Eller (only a 3rd line winger right now) and Schultz, who has yet to be seen in the NHL, he should have been able to get more. The Cammaleri trade is looking slightly better with Bourque playing better.
most teams have played 10 games now, what are your thoughts on the season so far, te games in?
Well, not many surprises so far. I guess the biggest one is the Putrescence of Washington, but when you look closer at their roster then it makes more sense. Also, Tampa has surprised me with their play. Yzerman just has a gift for getting the right players to fill holes. Oh, and glad to see the Icelanders are still making terrible trades to set back their team while helping the big guys. You would think that someone in the organization would learn by now. Move them to Quebec already, Brooklyn will just be more fail with a bigger spotlight.

Montreal's 4 game winning streak ended tonight at the hands of Ottawa, guess it's not so bad though
the sens came to play, the habs didn't. At least it wasn't Price in net.

i guess it's the best situation considering Budaj is playing against a hot team cold. (no pun intended)

that's a big loss to the team IMO.
a lot of games going on tonight, won't be able to watch any because I'll be busy but a lot of them should be good

I guess he's the best guess for why they're doing well.
Guess he can utilize our roster better than Martin did before him
EDIT: @Hammer-I REALLY hope Markov doesn't get hurt
