Just wondering if you Canadians out there are tired of the fraud Vancouver Canucks?
I am Canadian, I am not a Canucks fan, but not sure what you mean by 'fraud'. Their team is solid, just not as good as Boston, but neither are 30 other teams. The biggest question mark for them is goaltending.
Stanley Cup finalists and yet again one of the best in the league this year hardly qualifies as a fraud.
Yeah they are very skilled. Their style is to draw penalties and play on the powerplay. They cry all week about penalties and that they are a tough team but do nothing to show their toughness. They instigate and run away when called out. Hell their coach is now saying how much of a dirty player Marchant is (I'll say he deserves to be suspended) and that someone will get him. THEY HAD THEIR CHANCE TO "GET" HIM BUT DID NOTHING! Their player was hurt and they let Marchant stand there. What about Weiss(sp)? Engaging Thorton just to back away. The ref had nothing to do with that and gave them both penalties. They're just an embarrassing team. I remember the Bruins back some years not standing up for themselves or each other and I couldn't stand it.

Thats another thing. Luongo wont even play in Boston. That tells you how soft they are.

Seems to me youre digesting far too much of what the Boston media is spoon feeding. Teams dont have to be fighters. Det has managed just fine. Ignore the lip service and just worry about what your team is doing on the ice. I mean honestly, who really cares how another team chooses to handle itself. For every Canuck thats backed down Ive seen a Bruin throw a cheap shot, but is it worth the oxygen whinig about it....nope.
Seems to me youre digesting far too much of what the Boston media is spoon feeding.
Hardly. What I'm digesting is what I'm hearing from the coach and GM of Vancouver and what Don Cherry has said. Plus yeah the Boston media.

I like watching the different styles of hockey. The Bruins can do both a fast paced back and fourth and a tight checking physical game well. Being fighters has nothing to do with it. What does is the fact that they'll ***** and moan about the play and claim to be tough but come game time don't want nothing to do with it but try and draw penalties.
It matters how another team handles itself when they continue to flop. It becomes embarrassing, this isn't soccer.
I'm not going to argue about cheap shots, they happen all over. The point here is thats how that minor brawl happened if anyone saw the game or highlights. Burrows gets his stick onto Thortons face as they're changing up. Thorton goes after him to get jumped 6/7 on 1 when Boston comes in Vancouver wants nothing to do with it. I just can't watch that type of play. They're fruads. The joke of it all is listening to Sedin saying he's tired of talking about how they got pushed around in finals, saying they are tough and can play a physical game but after jumping on Thorton and before the rest of the Bruins came in he jumps through the door to get off the ice.

EVERY team tries to draw penalties. A team isnt going to go out and be something its not. They're going to stick with what got them there.

The "flopping" is precisely what I was referring to when I mentioned the Boston media. Payers league wide embellish to get calls (and no where near the extent soccer players do). Antics from BOTH teams last SCF were an embarrassment to the league

Are the Sedins going to drop the gloves, no, but VAN still has several guys that will and several guys that like to hit. And VAN "jumping" Thorton did exactly what they hoped it would do; caused an overreaction by BOS that resulted in a 5 on 3.

Ok, so I guess by 'fraud' you mean whiny diving crybabies, which I can agree with in regards to the Canucks. I also get miffed when my team (Devils) do nothing after a bad hit/play. This was especially evident last year when Carter cheapshotted Ansi Salmella after a goal. The hit was late and a blatant attempt to injure, yet the Devils players stood around and did nothing on the ice. The coach didn't even send a goon out to settle things later. I was never more embarassed to be a Devils fan than that game. Also telling how Langenbruenner was soon traded after that. Poor leadership = poor captain = get outta my team!

A lot of the "doing nothing when x, y, z happens" can be attributed to the instigator penalty. Its why guys like Matt Cooke get away with the crap they do. Quite possibly the worst rule in hockey

This is true, but there is no way Captain Scotty would have put up with the Carter cheapshot, instigator or no instigator.
I'm so happy Montreal got rid of Cammalleri, he was making $6 million a year for close to nothing, hopefully Bourque can help us
You've got to be kidding me.....of all the things wrong with that franchise (and there are a ton), Cam wasnt one. He's a great player and has been MTL's one playoff constant. Wanna make your team better? Get rid of the guy running it (and I dont mean the guy that doesnt speak French). Everything that's transpired over the last month are prime examples of why I cant stand the French or the Habs

I have to say I mostly agree with this post. I find it insulting and I am personally ashamed as a person with French Canadian Heritage with the way people are reacting towards the Habs and their coach. I am personally disgusted that they want their coach fired because he doesn't speak French. Who gives a damn if he doesn't speak French. All I care about in any coach is will he help your team win and is he not a criminal/reprehensible human being. And the fact people are even considering boycotts over this and that the Montreal government said they disapprove of him not speaking French and wanted the owner to know that is disgusting, especially in this day and age.
And it isn't even like he needs to speak French for his job as English is the language that pretty much every hockey player speaks nowadays.
I wish I could say that Habs problems could be fixed by changing the front office, but I think the bigger problem with Habs are their fans who are basically forcing the Habs to be run in such a way that they can't hire the best coaches and management and if they had their way players too. I can't think of any other team's fans that really cares how many English speakers it has, if they have any at all. But it seems that if the Habs don't have a French speaking coach with French speaking players then even if they win, they are still in the wrong for not winning the "Habs" way. Which is a real shame when you consider what a proud franchise the Canadians are.
And as for Cam all thing considered was a good and respectable player and I even agree with his recent comments. The Habs have a lot of loser in them and until they realize this they aren't going to get better. I wish him all the best.

maybe it wasn't Cammalleri himself that I didn't like but they way they were using him, as the way they were using a lot of players but I have to agree with the get rid of the people running the franchise.
I'm not gonna be surprised if Cammalleri started playing a lot better in Calgary, knowing the fact that the Habs haven't been using players right.

I have to agree that it's stupid that they only want a Coach who can speak French, because at this point, they should take the best coach they can get, who gives a **** if they can't speak French.
I agree with his comments because he was 100% right, too bad he seems to be the only one who realized that and no one else on the roster at the time who realized that they're playing like losers
I despise the Vancouver Canucks and its no secret their one of the most hated teams in the league, by their peers. They're soft, they whine, they dive, and most of their fans are abrasive and obnoxious. And trust me, I know a diver when I see one - Dustin Brown is the captain of my hockey team.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Kings dismantle their terrible defensive corps (without Salo, who single handedly makes that blueline work) in the first period of last night's game.
9-1-5 with Sutter behind the bench in LA. We've only lost twice in regulation in the last 17 games. Thank god the team turned things around. We're still not scoring a terrible amount, but that will come. Doughty has returned to 09/10 Norris form, putting up 11 points in his last 14 games. He is a key component of our offense. When he's clicking, we're hard to stop.
If we win the division, Jonathan Quick will get serious recognition for the Hart this season, and he deserves it. He has carried this team all season and doesn't look to be slowing down. He has better numbers than any goalie who has played 30+ games, and better numbers than most goaltenders who have played half the amount of games. The Vezina is a two horse race between he and Lundqvist. Thomas and Rask will likely not be in it considering the mostly even split of games between the two and the fact they're playing behind the best offense in the league. Quick deserves all the accolades thrown his way this year and he's FINALLY starting to get recognition.

Quick is just a beast. My only concern with LA though is they need Quick to be a beast every game it seems as they have like no scoring.

Fortunately, whether or not the offense ever gets going, Quick HAS been a beast every night. He literally has not given up a "soft" goal since the very first goal scored on him in the very first game of the season.
As far as our offense goes, yeah, it's been pretty embarrassing. But the team has an elite defense and goaltending which is winning them games. The offense will come. It's only a matter of time before Kopitar, Richards, Doughty, etc. wake up. A team with that much offensive talent won't stay quiet for too long. They had a stretch where they scored 13 goals in three games just a week ago. They'll turn it on. I have faith in this team's offensive capabilities, despite the statistics. Our biggest need going into the deadline is depth scoring in the bottom six. A guy like Tuomo Ruutu would be a great fit in our bottom six. However, if Gagne is still injured we made need to pick up another scoring winger.
