I've been thinking about getting into this TCG for awhile now after I lost interest in playing Weiß Schwarz due to a lack of good source material for it. I remember the first time it debuted at my locals it didn't get the same reception that Cardfight!! Vanguard did 3 years ago, I've had my doubts as to whether or not If it was going to take off in North America like with Vanguard but with alot of players complaining about the power creep in Vanguard while looking into a new TCG to get into, I'm just not sure If Buddyfight is worth investing in.
I've already invested a lot of money in Cardfight!! Vanguard with the 2 decks I already have built, one of which is Soulless Oracle Think Tank and the other is Alfred Liberators in Gold Paladin. I'd hate to sell those decks away since I still have fun playing Vanguard yet I keep hearing that there's less power creep in Buddyfight and the Anime series is better than Vanguard. I did manage to watch a few episodes of Buddyfight in terms of the English Dub however the Japanese Sub for it is very hard to come by.

I'd wait a couple years before deciding about power creep, it was pretty minimal for the first ~10 sets in vanguard. (barring Hamburger Time...)
If your area has a group for it, I'd say give Netrunner a try. The cost to maintain a collection is far lower than a TCG will ever be, and it will give you something to do while waiting to see if Buddyfight pulls a Vanguard and invalidates all the things forever.

I dunno, Online Card Games aren't really my forte even though it's cheaper than the Paper versions. You don't get the same social aspect of playing Digital as you do on Paper since If I'm going to be playing Digital I'd rather play video games over card games as long as it's not Virtual Reality. From what I've seen at my locals Buddyfight isn't as big as Vanguard is right now although it's slightly more popular than Kaijudo since it's been dying out at my locals except for a tournament or two on Friday nights.
I know Bushiroad put a lot of money into Buddyfight in North America however I don't see it surpassing Vanguard or Yu-Gi-Oh! for that matter. The western mentality of card games always comes down to whether or not If the said card game is safe to invest money in based on organized play, game mechanics, source material, and fun factor. If it doesn't achieve those principles due to the possibility of overwhelming power creep then I guess you could say it was a wasted investment or they'll just end up just like the overwhelming Yu-Gi-Oh! fan base by supporting the game til it drops dead.

Oh my bad, now that you mention it there was an event at my locals for Netrunner awhile back although the only LCG I'm familiar with currently is the one for Star Wars which I've been thinking about getting into lately. I'm not sure how I feel about Living Card Games (LCG)'s in general, to me it's combining elements of board games with the aspect of card games.
