I guess I get it. To me bot lane seems like a fairy tale. I can imagine what it looks like, but I'm never there. The thought of someone also in your lane is weird. I even reject leashes cause I'm scared they accidentally take my mobs.
I've rebound my keys to automatically smartcast all of my skills. For longer range skillshots with path-based damage (read: Orianna), I might toggle it off but most of the time, it lets me do things faster (mostly harrassing, when I have less movement delay because I don't have to click to aim then click to move). I've also gotten used to it so I forget to click when I normal cast.

If you're having creature problems I feel bad for you son
You got 99 attackers but I'm blocking with 1.

You can turn on range indicators with smart cast, btw.

Knowing the ranges is the most difficult part of smart casting. But you should be knowing the ranges of each spell anyways. I have my normal qwer set for smartcast, along with my summoner spells. Shift+QWER smart self cast, which is great for champions like Morgana or Lee Sin with their shields on different skills (Heals too!) Alt+QWER levels up, and shift ZXCV regular cast so I can see the range circle (I hate the line display)
I also don't like the regular smart cast range indicator. The delay it gives when I don't need to see the range throws me off and I am quicker with my spells without it.

I'm normally on most nights between 6pm-whenever.
Assassins aren't really my style, and Shaco's kit doesn't really appeal to me. It seems like his only purpose is to be as annoying as possible.
I kind of look at him as the Assassin version of Soraka. He's annoying as hell to play against and his only purpose is to snowball one of his teammates really hard early, to the point where you win pretty fast, because he falls off if the game goes long.
Like Soraka, he still does stuff at 40 minutes, but like Soraka, most other champions do more.
Those gank angles can be pretty remarkable, though.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll look up a champion on the wiki if I'm unfamiliar with their ranges. I usually do it for bottom lane matchups all the time to tell if I have a range advantage over them.

Because it's easier to look it up than it is to remember the ranges of ~103 champions. It's the same reason as to why we're allowed to take notes during a magic game.

Damn. That means I can't play like a troll in blind pick but expect competent teammates in draft.
Looks like I'll have to actually get into ranked play.
I far prefer ranked play. Stress levels are a bit higher, so the fact that I cope with stress really well (and can just shrug it off when teammates are a bit stressed out) helps me and might not work out for everyone, but I just find that having everyone taking the game semi-seriously really helps my enjoyment. Too much variance in player skill in normals; I hate stomping my lane because the other guy was just messing around and I hate getting stomped because I'm up against a platinum/diamond player who messes around enough to not have an amazing normal elo.
I don't give a hoot about my Elo (I do care about my team's Elo, but I don't care about my personal Elo), I just like that when I queue up everyone's really looking for a game.
I need to figure out how to play vs Kat. In that vein Jax Darius Rengar and Diana also give me trouble. Then again maybe I'm exaggerating. Fed Jax give me trouble, they just seem to always get fed at top. I just played vs kat at mid as fizz. I was told I countered her and I'd have an easy time. I got shat on. She was 2/1 (and me 1/2) and went bot, got a double kill and I ended laning phase 2/4 (she was still 4/1). Then teamfights started and I finished 11/4 xD.
I just need to get over the laning phase against her. She harasses so much.

Your personal Elo is a determinant of your team's Elo
Your personal Elo is a determinant of your team's Elo
Edit: unless you're premade 5s.
Right. I care about the Elo of my two premade 5v5 teams, not at all about my personal Elo (that doesn't mean I don't play to win, just that I don't sweat the number).

I just realized that you were talking about ranked 5s vs. your ranked soloq Elos.

Why don't you just figure it out in game?
That seems silly... if there's an easy reference and you just want one piece of information, why go to the trouble of testing in-game?
I know your ranked elo is separate from your normal elo.
Is your normal blind pick elo separate from your normal draft pick elo?

I'm talking about just playing the game normally with the champ, then finding out its idiosyncrasies in that game.
I personally never bother with custom games/bot games for the sole purpose of finding out info about champs.
They're one and the same.
