Yeah, but there's not even an expansion on the horizon currently. Do you mean StarCraft? I've been playing beta and am happy with it, the only thing that vexes me is the UI change (hope that gets reverted), but it's not like I can't deal with it.
There are rumors of an expansion it just has no name and no word on when it will come out.
It's pretty obvious there will be at least 1 expansion though every Blizzard game in the Diablo/Starcraft/Warcraft universe has had at least 1 expansion.
Barring the original Warcraft game that came out a long long time ago.
1. the release date is real. you can go to battle.net and pre-order the content right now for 60 bucks. the real date of live is posted on battle.net. which is the may release date.
2. while pvp is not shipping with the game it is not going to be a separate expansion that you are going to have to pay for. it will be included at a later date no charge.
Which class are you guys most looking forward to playing?
either monk or witch hunter. both look really really fun.
demon hunter not seem so underpowered
this is what i keep hearing. is it a damage thing or just how her skills work.
i have seen some pretty neat combo stuff with her skills.
or is it just that other classes do things much better?
It's entertaining but not something I would drop $60 and forced online for imo...hence why I'll be playing on a private server for a while me thinks.
unless you know a private server that is connected to blizzard then this is impossible. the whole game is online like an mmo. which for me is a good thing.
as for the real money AH i think it is going to be more of a pain than what it is worth.
there is posting fee's and then there is the % commission, and no garentee that someone is going to buy your stuff. plus you will have other people under cutting you on the same item.
i think blizzard is going to make more money than than the people selling items.

Demon Hunter feels bad relatively until you get Entangling Arrow + Chakram because of no AoE (well, arguably hungering arrow, but it's dicey until you get the first rune). All the other classes get their AoE skills a couple levels earlier than the DH.
Once you have Entangling Arrow + Chain Gang you feel MUCH better because you get your first reliable AoE skill. Until then you're either kiting or face tanking the hits and it takes some time to single target all the monsters down.
Once you actually get your AoE's, you feel great. DH AoE's are good, real, real good. Chakram is -really- powerful, get used to using it. I would argue that it's superior in many ways to Multishot. Yeah, I went there.

Every week you get like 5 free listings so for the casual user they could easily make a nice chunk of change just selling the stuff they find.
Those that try to "play" the RMAH will likely get burned.
Gold will also be far more useful in this game then it was in Diablo 2 so people can post auctions on there for just a cost in gold.
Those that try to make a career out of this thing will have a far harder time making some big bucks ;).

It will remind me I bet of WoW AH so like I said I'll watch and wait.

Most of those servers have crashes every 10 minutes and bugs, but yeah if 60 bucks is too much money you can wait the 2+ years for Diablo servers that will likely be buggy as #$#$.
Pretty sure using them is against the ToS that Blizzard has for the game though.

The wizard would have been my choice before last beta patch just because it was SO incredibly OP.
If they can finally manage to make demon hunter not seem so underpowered that will be my choice for 1st toon.
Well, I have confidence that the classes are definitely going to power shift. Let us not forget Diablo II and how many power shifts and imbalances that game had.

yea the difference here is though they can make those types of changes on the fly instead of waiting months and month for the next update.
another good thing about it being online. bugs can get fixed pretty fast vs taking forever and a day.
same with power shift.
does anyone have any news on the solo part or does it play like an mmo and you need a full team regardless?

Normal difficulty is an absolute cakewalk, based on my beta experiences, as well as dev statements.
If the developers are to be believed (and past Diablo titles), things should start getting intense in subsequent difficulties. In DII I felt nightmare was still a breeze with proper gear, and it wasn't until Hell that you really started benefitting from having a party. D3 will have a fourth difficulty tier, that should make things fun.

yea but even in d2 on hell with 8 players you could still solo it.
i have heard that isn't the case with d3.
i like a lot of the changes they have impliment though. i hope the game play is just as exciting. although i know skill spam is on the down low which is my only concern.

Probably gonna quit LoL, or WoW for a while for this.

I will also be starting with wizard; the classic spellcasters have been my default since Diablo 1. Demon hunter also seems fun.

so like the amazaon for the first 15 level or so. no problem use to that type of play.
this i didn't know. 5 free listings yep i could do decent with that.
No i haven't. i would have to say without cracking the code and repointing where you login at it would be fairly difficult.
also given that it is someone's rogue server that you are accessing the security risks it is to dangerous.
however if people want to play on a hack server more power to them. for me 60 bucks is worth a stable platform.
