Adele's third album, following 19 and 21; hopefully it isn't 25 or 26. I really don't like what she's done here, even after reading her explanation for the previous album titles.
Ed Sheeran's sophomore album
Emeli Sandé's sophomore album
As well as a number of releases by more established acts (e.g., blink-182 [how old is too old for pop punk, for me to be listening-in-passing to it or for them to be making it], Guns N' Roses).
I don't really do music festivals or gigs, so that's about it for me.
1. THYX - Super Vision - THYX is a sideproject by the lead singer of mind.in.a.box, incorporating some more experimental elements into his futuristic technopop sound. MIAB has long been one of my favorite bands, and THYX is arguably even a little better. He released the first album in 2012 and it was amazing, and in 2013 he released a second that was likewise amazing. It seems that "one awesome album every year" is his MO, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.
2. Seeming - Madness and Extinction - Seeming is the rebirth of the band ThouShaltNot, which was one of the most unique and awesome synthpop/indie-rock bands out there. They've been silent since the implosion of the label Dancing Ferret Discs in 2006, and coupled with the changing of the name, it seems like there were definitely some difficulties there. Even so, they're back and the preview songs they've released thus far have shown that they're as great as ever.
3. Neuroticfish - A Sign of Life - Amazing techno-leaning Futurepop. Their last album was 2005, and in 2006 or 07 (I can't remember which now), they stated that the project was over, releasing a Best Of in 08 and silence since then until this past year. In 2013, they released an EP and several preview tracks from their upcoming album, and I'm psyched. Their second album (Les Chansons Neurotiques) is easily my most-played album of all time, and they would pretty easily secure a spot as my favorite band if they were active... which they are now.
4. Seabound - Speak In Storms - Amazing synthpop-leaning Futurepop. Again, this is a band that's been largely inactive for several years (last album release 2006, with a compilation since then), and they're also one of my favorites. The lead singer, Frank Spinath, has been involved in several other projects (Edge of Dawn, Ghost and Writer, Radioaktivists) in the downtime of Seabound, and they've all been phenomenal. I'm pretty sure the man can do no wrong, and I'm looking forward to him proving it this year.
5. Beborn Beton - maybe the album they've been promising since 2008 - EBM-leaning Synthpop. Beborn Beton is another one of my favorite bands who've been silent far too long. Their last full release was in 1999, and the only things they've put out themselves since were compilation albums in 2000 and 2002. In 2008, they mentioned on their (now non-existent) website that they were working on a new studio album. Their Facebook page updates occasionally with information about it, but there's yet to be a concrete album name, art, or release date. Pretty much the Duke Nukem Forever of the industrial world at this point, but I'm still holding out hope that it'll come out one day and won't stink as much as Duke Nukem Forever.

New albums from both Meshuggah and Opeth this year. Plus there's a good chance my wife and I will get to see Billy Joel next month, which is pretty freakin' cool.

There's one at the door, at the gate to damnation...
Is it thief, thug or whore? There's one at the door...
And there's room for one more till the end of creation. Neil Gaiman, Sandman #4 - A Hope in Hell
I recently re-discovered that Hannah Peel will be releasing her EP Fabricstate in February. I liked the sound of "Chloe", and I am looking forward to the EP on which it will be featured.
I am still on the look out for new things, but it doesn't seem like there's much more that really interests me.
New albums from Swans, Necro Deathmort, Death Grips, Clipping, Killer Mike, Run the Jewels, Beck, Eels, and Secret Chiefs 3. I'll also check out the new albums from Opeth, Cynic, and Hail Spirit Noir.
I expect there will be a ton of other excellent releases this year, January 2014 was much stronger than January 2013 - I don't think there was anything that had come out this time last year that I was that excited about, and this year we've already had new albums from Have a Nice Life, Silver Mt. Zion, Ulver & Sunn o))), Bohren & der Club of Gore, and Indian, and at least two of those will likely be in my top ten of the year come December.
NONE! I gave up on music many years ago. I think the last album I purchased was the last Deftones release.....and before that I couldnt even begin to tell you. Id much rather listen to Nirvana, Cypress Hill, NWA, Pink Floyd, Tupac, etc
The extent of my "new music" search is limited to occasionally checking UKF for new electronic releases
Tool releasing a new album would be great. If both Tool and Meshuggah release new albums this year then maybe they will tour together again. I would spend as much money as it takes to see that show.

Little angel, go away come again some other day the Devil has my ear today I'll never hear a word you say. He promised I would find a little solace and some peace of mind. Whatever. just as long as I don't feel so desperate and ravenous.
New Clipse album possibly/hopefully.
EMA - The Future's Void
Future- Honest
New Frank Ocean hopefully maybe
New TNGHT
New St. Vincent
New Grimes
Mac Demarco - Salad Days
New SBTRKT
Didn't know she was releasing a new album. Is this confirmed or speculation? I would love to hear something new from her.
Also, I forgot Slough Feg was releasing an album when I made my list.
Only things on that list not confirmed are Clipse and Frank Ocean. Frank Ocean is rumored because of a kinda vague quote about how he wants the entire album to sound like the end of his last album and he's gonna spend a lot of time recording this year. Clipse is rumored because Malice found god a few years ago and gave up rap completely but I believe his brother Pusha T has talked him back into the game. Pusha said something to the effect that He has won and clipse is doing another album on to hedge that later with, "it's possible clipse is doing another album".
Although there hasn't been any sort of album release announcement, I'm hoping we'll see something from the newly reformed King Crimson (featuring Ministry's Bill Rieflin). Even if they don't release anything, it will be nice to have Crimson hitting the road again this fall/winter.

The same for Ashley Tisdale, who is supposed to make a 5 year return from making music as well.

I also look forward to a new Opeth album, they have never made something bad, so I hope they will not start now.
Other than those two, I have not really researched a lot about music released in 2014.
And in the festival department, I hope I can make it to Killtown Deathfest this year, since I missed it last year.
