I stayed away from hip hop for a while, thinking I wouldn't like it, until the now defunct Jurassic 5 lured me in. It started with "This is a pretty good song," to "these songs are pretty good" to considering them one of my favorite groups. Since then I've heard and appreciated some other hip-hop artists, particularly older ones, but none more than Jurassic.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
I don't listen to a lot of Hip-Hop myself, but I think I'd like to. I started listening to rap through brony music, and eventually started writing my own, and I figure I should listen to some more hip-hop. Currently I only have MC Frontalot, and I'm not sure he counts.
Considering you post on an MTG forum
and have listened to Brony music,
i'm going to assume (like me) you
have nerdy tendencies.
So given that, i'd suggest checking out Deltron 3030
(that's a self-titled album).
It's a concept album about a fugitive Mech-Soldier turned M.C.
on the run from the government while attempting to tear it down.
It's also produced by Dan the Automator
(he produced the first Gorillaz album,
i'm sure you've heard a few tracks from it)
DOOM has some pretty nerdy tenancies as well, if that's what we're going off of here. And like 35987x better than Deltron. ;p
DOOM as an acquired taste for me though, so he may be for you as well. I heard DOOM as soon as I started getting into hiphop way back when, and I couldn't understand why everyone liked him so much, this was when I was listening to rap and just dipping my toes into hiphop. Now he's my favorite artist under the Wu.
Speaking of 'acquired tastes'; this kinda thing happen to any of you before with certain artists? Took me a few listens and various tries and various songs to get into Das Racist too.

Kanye
It took me listening to 'My Dark Twisted Fantasy'
to have an appreciation for him as an artist.
I thought he was just generic.
Not so much.
I think OFWGKTA as a whole
is a very acquired taste.
I don't think anyone sees the Yonkers
video and thinks to themselves,
"man, this guy is awesome"
They probably think,
"wtf, did he just puke up a cockroach?"
And then listen to some other stuff
until they're enthralled, or shocked
out of ever listening to any of them
ever again.
Ah yeah, Odd Future is understandable. I think I mentioned this earlier, I still don't like most of the OF stuff, but some of it, namely Tyler's stuff, is real good. And Yonkers wasn't the first song I heard from OF, but when the video did drop, I was flipping my ****, I loved it. haha
Listening to Graduation right now actually btw. haha This is the Kanye album that gave me respect for him.

You should check out Domo Genesis new album
It's produced by The Alchemist
It's much much better than i expected
(and it might give you some love for the rest of OF =])
Ah ya ya, I forgot to mention that, I've been listening to that album a lot lately actually. It is a lot better than I expected it would be, but it is Alchemist after all, Alchemist is the ****. haha
Also, I was just watching Die Antwoord vids last night (love me some Die Antwoord vids haha), and I had no idea that Diplo produced Evil Boy... It just never clicked, and I felt really dumb. haha Apparently he was on the re-release or something, and there was an extra verse from Yolandi, and ****, I have no idea. Moral of that story; watch Die Antwoord videos.

Nerdcore sorta counts. The other recommendations are pretty good, I'd like to add:
El-P: His production is very industrial, and he makes a particularly intense brand of indie-battle rap. Dude's pretty storied, and between his work on Rawkus, The Weathermen, Company Flow, and running Def-Jux, he's one of the most prolific artists in Indie Hip-Hop (despite only having four solo albums).
Aesop Rock: Dude's a really good rapper, a really good producer, and a great storyteller. I think you'd appreciate him.
Watsky: dude makes some nerdy underground rap, it's mostly pretty light and fun, but it's definitely worth listening to.

Yeah, a lot of Underground hip-hop especially takes a while to get into. OF (back when they could even be considered underground) was pretty abrasive, though once I heard "Bastard," for the first time, it's teeth were pretty sunk in. Shabazz Palaces was also like that (it took a few listens to realize that I adored 'The Kings Clothes Were Made By His Own Hands').

IDK, I felt the exact opposite. I thought the video for French was really funny and wasn't ever really shocked by the stuff he was saying. As someone that was growing up when Eminem was popular, it just wasn't shocking. Shock rap is always the most popular, and OF is super popular with high school kids right now, and I've never heard of high schoolersbeing known for their liking of "acquired tastes" music. <insert call me maybe>

Still no idea who it is (sounds like a lot of different voices... I am 90% I heard Tyler in there somewhere), but the music video sure is weird! Guy at the end of the credits is named Lilfuchs. And he has worked with Flying Lotus, according to his website. This leads me to believe Flying Lotus is certainly the key component of Captain Murphy. Also, because the rapper references "only doing Rachmaninov," which is something connected to FlyLo.
Oh yeah, and the beat is by TNGHT, as indicated by the title. So he's not producing his own stuff as far as I can tell.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
Brother Ali and POS have albums out this month (not 100% sure about POS, actually)
WHY? have an album out, it's pretty mediocre. Some cool production, not as intense as their past work though.
Other than that? Not a whole lot, though I feel the need to plug Wanderlust's Brown Grass. Acoustic rap from Tairyhesticles (double underground net rapper), reminds me a lot of if early Eyedea were produced by Kristoff Krane

Hard to deny hearing different voices throughout the song unless there's some serious pitch shifting and flow changing going on. Could still be FlyLo. But for all I know it's probably just some up-n-comer FlyLo found on a streetcorner in LA. Regardless it's definitely some people with a love of nerd stuff, seeing as the song's about Batman and The Killing Joke is a famous Batbook.

Marijuana Death Squads, free new album (Linked: official download). I haven't listened to it much, nor am I extensively familiar with them, but they've got a long list of great guests, and the production is solid.

I got respect for him from that first single he put out off of College Dropout. "All Falls Down", great single with a great video.
It's also a free download on datpiff

Speaking of datpiff -> TYBG
Also Iggy Azelea has a sponsored tape for anyone into her stuff. But not linking it, cause it would probably make me listen to more bad rap music.
