OK, so it officially started with the NES, but then the real Nintendocore/Chiptune started with HORSE the Band. Nintendocore has since gotten harder, and Chiptune is appealing to a lot of the scene...scene. :s
I'm more of a fan of Nintendocore, as I like a lot of harder stuff. I Shot the Duck Hunt Dog (I LOVE THE SOUNDS OF END GAME OMG), all of peet's bands (iamerror, impatient/outpatient, Monomate), Dungeon Elite [**], 100DeadRabbits, Masi Masi, GirlJoy, and a few songs from some others.
First off, has anyone else heard of it?
Second, what do you think? What are some of your fav nintendocore/chiptune bands?
Third, have you had any interest in making your own Nintendocore/chiptune music? Either actually going anywhere or just uploading a FamiTracker track to Myspace?
Breaking news.
There will be no Tibalt, Tamiyo, Tezzeret, Garruk, Chandra, Liliana, mini-Jace, big-Jace, Garruk again, or Sarkhan in Theros either.
There will also be no Black Lotus.
only one of these bands i've heard of is HORSE. i actually own their "the mechanical hand" CD, which i enjoy a lot. i didn't know there were more bands like them. i'll have to check them out.

I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
I like the potential that electronic devices bring to music, and I am very fond of many video game OSTs because I feel that they are an evolution of the better part of orchestral music despite their limitations. However, I have been very disenchanted by most of the music genres that have sprouted up in response to video game music because a lot of them feel like their just "cool sounds" put on loop. I've found some good songs along the way, for example Helix Nebula by Anamanaguchi, but I'm mostly running into disappointment toward the scene as a whole. I figure I've only touched the tip of the iceberg, though, since I've heard of only Dungeon Elite, and still have hopes that something of this nature can be used to create some great music.
Edit: yea, I don't like your recommended artists at all.

I love this genre. Oak's Parcel, Rawesome, Lombardi Skies. All good artists in this genre.

The ignorance permeating this thread is impressive. Chipmusic has been a thing since the days of the home computers such as the C64. Secondly, it's pretty obscene to lump people like Horse with chipmusic. Everyone who throws some arps over a track and claims to like video games is not chipmusic.
If you guys are interested in Nintendocore/chiptune bands there a not that many, HORSE the band being the most popular full band out there and not just one dj doing everything...
but i want you guys to start checking out a new band from South Florida called All Hail The Mustache ive been following these guys are they seem like they have huge potential
i will leave some links for you guys to hear/watch these guys.

I always consider Freezepop to be nintendocore, but I suppose that should be nintendopop or some similar naming convention.
I've listened to Horse and really enjoyed it.
The Midbosses are pretty sweet.
Just checked out 8-bit *****slap and it pretty much sucks.
It's called INFRARED RETINA.
