Hey guys! I am looking for your recommendations on Shintoism books. I am looking for books that describe Shintosim from the outside first, like a guide, but I will also take suggestions on important Shinto texts.
I have Zen and Shinto: The Story of Japanese Philosophy by Fujisawa. I think it'd be a good starting point. It's definitely not like scriptures or anything.
Yeah I thought it was pretty decent. If you're really wanting to get into Shinto you'll want more though. It's pretty small and of course there's a lot of Zen stuff in it as well.
But that's the only Shinto book I own or have read, so I can't be further help there. Sorry! haha
Thanks
