Death is god. All things that live die. There is a scientific argument that not all things die. The only case of immortality known to man is a jellyfish that can replicate its cells infinitely and live forever. But even this is death because we must ask ourselves regardless of this organisms longevity, is it still the same jellyfish? If humans were to live forever would we been the same person we were 30 years or even 5 years ago? I think the answer is no. every day a part of us dies, a part of us is born and a part of us thrives. We are a constantly changing animal, but because of cell death are we even who we are in our own life time?
What im saying is, why focus on death or afterlife when regardless of creed, belief or action our bodies all die and are reduced to simple molecules. We are literally a half-life equation in progress. How does that make you feel about this life and what justification do you have for those feelings?
Its life you live to die. From the day you are born you start dying you can prolong it but you cant stop it. So you have to except it that one day you will stop living. Most religions believe that there is an after life so they have some something to look forward to.
well, i guess what i saying is since we all have to die, and since wether of or not someone believes in an afterlife we all feel the same fear on our death bed; is death the most powerful expirience we can feel in life. its the one thing we all have in common and we all can see happen to someone close to us. in what way can we properly discuss it?
and we are not dieing from the day were born. men dont start dieing untill the age of 22 and women dont start dieing till the age of 30. untill then were just maturing.
How does that make you feel about this life and what justification do you have for those feelings?
My feelings?
Other than that I think you should do a better job of relating the body of your post to your title. The only time you discuss it is in your first sentence, but stating something does not make it true. Additionally, I wish you'd at least attempt to define your terms. What do you mean by "metaphorical" god? Seems like just about anything could fall within that definition.
Anyway, this strikes me as just a bunch of incorrect facts you stung together in your own mind and then tried to type out in hopes people would read it and nod. People doing what you're doing happens a lot around these parts, people nodding does not. You're assuming everyone will sync-up with whatever is going on in your head with minimal effort on your part.
Death is a physical process, it has nothing to do with the spirit or the mind. In the future, we may live forever by uploading our consciousness into databases. As a spiritual person, I believe physical existence is just a temporary state, like pre-school, where we learn the very basics of existence before graduating to bigger and better things. The majority of our existence actually takes place in the spirit world, where all the action truly is, because the spirit is eternal. The body is simply a vehicle, an empty shell that we use to interact with the material world while we are here. As C.S. Lewis said, we are not bodies that have souls, but souls which have bodies.
Death be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.
Though I love that poem, and am so happy you posted it here.
For the sake of argument, lets assume that the universe isn't going to cease to exist, ever. So then, is death - or rather, the decay of cells/atoms, ever going to stop?
So then, is death going to die?

You mean thermodynamic equilibrium? Either way there's nothing left to kill, right?

I was more thinking like oscillation, so with every collapse and bang, there would always be something to kill, right?

This is a persistence of self statement. However, I am willing to assume your answer for the purpose of this discussion.
Because we are biologically programed to want to survive, up to a point.

I assure you that's not going to be the case.
