This allegedly happened on the night of the 9th. "Chaos" didn't begin until the next day, so of the possible explanations "accidents among the chaos" is not a likely one.
The dog pee is a little more suspicious, but they definitely trampled the memorial. Granted, it's originally a mother jones article, so that'll probably affect your opinion of it's validity, but the posted video and picture from Antonio French seem legit.
So... what part of him twisting facts into a disingenuous narrative is valid? You might want to give more details - stewart peppers his "news" with more bull***** than hannity, and this particular segment has literally 0 to contribute to the discussion beyond proving that the pro-brown side doesn't actually look at facts.
Because I certainly trust your unbiased and well informed opinion on the matter, so much so I gleefully agree with a baseless "because I said so." analysis. Beyond that, I think at least two people here have severely undereducated knowledge about political satire over the centuries.

The dog pee was the one that I was more suspicious of - seems like it could VERY likely be accidental or may not have happened. Until there is a more reliable source than an angry protestor's hearsay, I'm gonna dismiss that.
As for the driving over of the flowers, the heck do you expect? The were covering a sizeable chunk of road, and I don't think it'd be reasonable or practical for an armored vehicle to swerve to avoid flower petals. I wish that they had asked for flowers to be moved or corded off the scene and prevented them from sprinkling the flowers in the first place, though - but I feel like either of those solutions would have evoked the same amount of anger.

Why would they have armored vehicles on the night of the 9th? Rioting did not begin until the night of the 10th. Canfield drive is a wide, two-laned street, with gently sloped curbs. It would have been trivially easy for a police vehicle to avoid an obstruction covering a significant portion of the road.

The issue here is that this is before the armored vehicles. It was officers in regular uniforms with police dogs. And it really wouldn't have been hard to avoid the flowers, especially since most of the people there were gathered around it.

My bad, I didn't realize it was before the armored cars. I still think we need more details, though. It'd be pretty unfortunate if a cop did that maliciously.

Who cares? Some flowers got run over... that's not even close to reason enough to riot no matter what those flowers meant.
But it IS another injustice on top of years of injustices. It's really not surprising tensions didn't boil over. I think the problem most people are missing here is that it isn't JUST about Michael Brown. There are shootings all over the country of unarmed black men all the time. The issue is that it was handled so poorly, combined with such a lack of respect that it was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I've never been a fan of the whole race card thing. I didn't like how they tried to turn the Trayvon Martin case into nothing but a hate crime, they even tried to make Zimmerman, who is latino, into a white guy just because he has a funny last name. It was a stretch in my eyes and in this case, I don't think it was about race either.
Ok, as a Latina I have to step in and make some corrections here. Although the Census Bureau and forms I have to fill out all the time have ethnicity as "non-Hispanic" and "Hispanic," there is an entire system of race within different Hispanophone countries and subcultures in the US. Latino/Hispanic is not a race--it's an ethnicity. A problematic one at that given the lack of complexity in US categorizations. There are black Latinos, white Latinos, Asian Latinos, Jewish Latinos, Amerindian Latinos, mestizo Latinos, Desi Latinos...for any race or origin, those who have settled down in the Hispanophone countries are considered Latino according to American categorizations of Latinos.
Zimmerman's mom is Peruvian, and the country's main demographics are split three ways between the Amerindians/Quechua, mestizos, and whites. Zimmerman hasn't exactly divulged the Peruvian side of his family history, and he shouldn't have to. Does he speak Spanish? We don't really know that either. There are issues at least in the Chican@ community surrounding the speaking of Spanish. It's politicized. My family has been here since the ground I'm standing on was called "Tejas y Coahuila" and my family doesn't speak Spanish, at least not very well. There are Mexican Americans living in Texas whose families have been here for at least three or four generations. We don't speak Spanish, and we get a ton of crap for it. I was called a "Tia Tomasa" (Aunt Tom) for not being able to speak Spanish. People get violently angry when I say I don't speak Spanish, although I can adequately read and write in it.
The tl;dr version, Zimmerman's Latino ethnicity is more complicated than most people think.

The other side of the spectrum with you white people was also the extinction for particular cultural languages, such as the German dialect that the Amish have taken over as their own unique tongue came from that was driven to extinction by the public education system in the northern states. The same with the Welsh language and many others. There was forced assimilation, as well as voluntary assimilation, such as in your family's case. Yet, we do not talk about the cultural assassination of Welsh and German dialects in the States.
So, it seems that what happened with Welsh and German-American derivation died out from discrimination, yours is trying to keep a language alive through discrimination. Master of the worlds are remembered only through words. When you control the language and the writings, you control the narrative and in some respects a destiny.
When speaking to familiars it is fine to speak a language, to speak with familiars who do not and wish not it is ultimately rude to reinforce an attitude. That which was destroyed and not passed on can reemerge only with cultivation and love, if you want someone to learn a language you must have them feel a connection to it. Harassment and shame are never the answer to identity. When you truly do not exist, it does not matter really what you are. Even among a people, a mighty empire with a long distinguished histories of the ages, a human is lost without relationships. For this we forsake others who seek to belong to a larger context is a sham, and why ethnicities die in this country. It hurts too much, as identity is so vital to individual autonomy. It is one thing to know where you come from, it is another to know who and what you are in this converging world. All that which exists will become dust. Futile, but like any flower a culture is beautiful only when it blooms. And to bloom that takes some luck and a bit of care, but most importantly love as any gardener knows.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
For the love of God, would someone care to explain to me why this is a travesty of justice. Seriously. Would. Someone. Explain. Because I don't get it. I don't see how anyone can possibly in their right mind compare this to Emmett Till or Abner Louima or even Rodney King. Was Wilson supposed to be indicted for all of the sins of the white race or one specific incident involving him and one other man?

The issue is lack of accountability, we've talked about this in depth already. The Ferguson Police department has a long history of problems when it comes to Ferguson's black community. Which is why this became an issue in Ferguson, and not everywhere a white cop shoots an unarmed black man. As the District Attorney gleefully pointed out, the 12 people in the Grand Jury are the only people to have seen all the evidence. The fact that there is no indictment means that evidence may never come to light, which means Brown's family may just be forever in the dark as to what actually happened.
I don't think Brown should be indicted if the evidence doesn't support it, but Ferguson Police's epic mishandling of the situation is a large part of the blame for this incident. There is a systemic problem with a lot of our police forces, which is a debate topic by itself, but one of those problems is a lack of transparency. Most cops are great people, but many departments have policies and cultures that protect the bad ones, or the forces are failing as an institution to engage with the people they serve.
Wilson represents more than just his own case (not that he should). To many amaricans he represents the ultra aggressive police system and the continued problem of discrimination in the us juctice system, especially by police officers and against African americans. In all reality his case is a fairly minor and strait forward one which has been blown out of proportions because of the issues which have simmered and gone unnoticed (unaddressed?) in america for some time.

Trolling can be defined as "A art, one specifically designed to misdirect, anger, or confuse others by reporting meaningful information in a clear, coherent way."
One day I will go infinate on a token combo then drop Scramble verse and watch as the trolling begins. That day will be a good day.

What bothers me is any situation in which I can be talking to a white nationalist and go, "yeah, you make some good points there."
They had a witch hunt against this guy who may very well be innocent of any wrongdoing and everyone just kinda shrugged. People were calling for jail for life without letting the facts come out first. Witnesses lied about Brown being shot in the back. The autopsy shows he wasn't, but no one cares because rabble rabble justice rabble rabble. They threatened to riot if he wasn't indicted, and now they backed that up. This guy will never work again in that area, possibly not as a policeman anywhere for that matter and he will no doubt have his life threatened wherever he ends up. He's forever the face of a racist system, will be mocked and derided for the rest of his life, and all of this without any evidence that anything he's ever done was motivated by race. And yet, again, he may actually be innocent of any wrongdoing at all.
All of that, again, is an enormous problem for me, as is the bizarre sanctification of Michael Brown, a violent criminal that may very well have taken Mr. Wilson's life that night.
They are now, along with their white friends who have seen V for Vendetta 100 too many times, looting liquor stores, blowing up cars and smashing the windows of restaurants, presumably to explain to the police that they... what? That they ought not be treated like criminals?
I am disgusted at the willful overshadowing of reason by fury, the willingness to disregard the truth because someone has a skin color you don't like. If they're so sick of injustice, then how about pick a case where there was a clear injustice? How about don't fuel the fire by launching a witch hunt against a man who may be innocent? How about take over town hall (heck, even by force if that's where you're going), instead of stealing a case of Captain Morgan's from your local liquor store?
And finally, damn it, can liberals stop playing identity politics and work for real justice in their communities?
The fact that there is no indictment means that evidence may never come to light, which means Brown's family may just be forever in the dark as to what actually happened.

Even still, the vast majority of the evidence can be obtained by FOIA request if it's not released publicly. As someone who has done a few FOIA requests for civil litigation matters, they are really easy to do and typically have some strong bite to them when they aren't complied with.
New York Times has posted documents of the evidence. From what I was able to gather from watching it over the last few hours the documents were distributed to St. Louis Public Radio, which posted them on its website. Several other more blog-esque sites quickly posted links, and now NPR and NYT also have the documents up (my suspicion was that they took longer to vet them)
The fact that there is no indictment means that evidence may never come to light, which means Brown's family may just be forever in the dark as to what actually happened.
That's how grand juries work. Complaining about it is like complaining that we vote by secret ballot.
That's not the point, though. I don't care exclusively about the Grand Jury, the problem is the public trust.
It's great that this stuff is coming to light now, but as I discussed earlier, the lack of transparency really damaged the public trust in this incident, in an area already plagued by severe lack of trust in the police.
What's the best way for the govt to deal with the rioters? How long before they stop using tear gas, in other words? Do you think the media paid off the cops etc to basically run a controlled riot to get ratings?
