Okay, that's one of the best articles dismantling postmodern leftist semantics I've ever read, and I've read a lot of them. It definitely ranks up there with ESR's kafkatrapping article. (I actually disagree with the author's implicit agreement that people are entitled to "safe spaces" above and beyond the notions of rights to private property, prohibition of physical assault, and legal recourse against actual harassment, but apart from that...)
I'm definitely going to crib that motte-and-bailey idea. If you look at any of the privilege threads on this forum I've participated in, you can clearly see the pro-privilege side using the motte/bailey switch in every single one of them. I could kick myself for not thinking of it sooner, in fact.
EDIT: I got some time to read the paper (here) linked in the article and it is also very good.

Jumping into a conversation that's not about you and saying, "But what about me?!" is certainly legal, but it's still impolite. Acknowledgement and apology are indeed in order.

The really interesting thing is when you catch them on it, when you're the person they're supposedly representing. That...is hilarious. Bonus points if you can find a case where they're erasing other non-cis/hetero/white/ablebodied/male groups from the equation.
The really funny part is that they think their blogs are not only relevant, but the most effective means of activism. You've got to wonder what we did before the internet. To them, the only relevant activism is...irrelevant activism. I've only seen something similar on conspiracy sites.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Which if thou dost not use for clearing away the clouds from thy mind
It will go and thou wilt go, never to return.
I've definitely had the thought before, but never articulated it that well.

How is it 'dumbing down' to have a floor of educational standards?
