And it's amazing to find out that my clanmates not only know of, but also appreciate Franken Fran! Dear lord I hope it gets a spinoff or anime or something, because I found it very creative and humorous, but with enough gore to keep it interesting (I'm a pretty big fan of gore.)
... how come I hear about this now? I too am a huge fan of horror (and gore that comes along). I assume Franken Fran is one of your favourites?
I'm yet to read it, but I'm planning to, after I'm done with Urasawa's Monster and Black Butler...

Aaaaaaaah Black Butler. That is a beautiful thing.
If you guys are into horror, might I suggest Elfen Lied?
Also, while we're on this subject, I was looking at KatherineTsara's Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief deck based off Rize from Tokyo Ghoul and it gave me a sudden urge to make a character themed deck... But now I need help
I can't think of any commanders that fit the characters. Ulquiorra Cifer from Bleach? Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist? Sasori from Naruto? (That one's pushing it I know.)
If you guys could help it would be much appreciated.
I built a theme deck around the Collector from Infinity Blade. Although, I don't know if anyone has ever played that game, but its epic. The Collector basically wanders around the game and challenges players. if the player wins, he/she gets the collector's weapon, however, if the Collector wins, he takes your weapon and to get it back you have to find him again. So the deck has all the swords and just steals artifacts and donates them too. Its awesome.
Wait... if you donate Sword of Fire and Ice and I equip Maelstrom Wanderer with it and whack you... You blow up one of my dorks and draw a card... But I have a 9/7 with protection from your color... POLITICS!
Please tell me that's how it works?
Or does the equipment deal the damage... So I get to choose... but you still draw a card...?
@Bur: I'm JUST now getting back into Anime and Manga after a year or so hiatus of not watching/reading any. So far, I've read Tokyo Ghoul and Franken Fran, and watched Tokyo Ghoul and Fate/Zero. I'm planning on watching Fate/Stay as well, eventually. I really enjoy horror/gore in Manga, as long as there's a point to it.
@Bishop
I'm not sure what could work for any of those characters. Ulquiorra seems either White/Black or Blue/Black, though, so I'd look within those two colors. I have no idea for Greed, but as a tip, I tend to start with the General as being a fair approximation of the character's physical abilities, and use the playstyle of the deck to portray their personality (Hence, Rize has a lot of "group slug" effects, a lot of creature kill, and very few creatures besides the general.) Drana's ability, for example, does a very good job of portraying Rize's kagune. So for Greed, I'd say you want a creature that is very hard to kill, with the plan of the deck being something along the lines of "Take ALL the things!" (From my vague recollection of the character in FMA) Insurrection-type abilities and such. Black isn't necessarily required, but you get bonus points if you can fit in the actual card, Greed
I finally have a proxy for Drana that I printed with some really sweet Rize art on it. So happy she finally looks like she's supposed to
@Katharine: I tried Tokyo Ghoul, but got bored and never got into it. I guess I should retry reading it, but we'll see...
Have you seen Puella Magi Madoka Magica?

Black Butler is one of my favourite manga/anime of all time! It's really well done and the relationship between Ciel and Sebastian is actually more complex than it seems at first, especially with the latest chapter.
Sebastain defies Ciel and tries to eat him because Ciel loses his focus of his goal/the contract.
Anyways, it inspired me to make and wear a Gothic lolita cosplay, which actually turned out really well. I got a lot of compliments from people at the Con I went to. And compliments are always good for my ego.

One of my favorite Anime of all time, Black Lagoon, isn't really horror, except for one or two arcs, but it certainly is gory and I definitely recommend it.

Have you seen Puella Magi Madoka Magica?
No, I have not!
Also, for Tokyo Ghoul, depending on how far you got into it, you should try it again. Either way, though, the manga is much better.

Lazav MIGHT work for Greed? I'm not sure, though.
I recommend it, then. Watch the anime (manga is based on anime, not otherwide and I don't like the style of the manga). I'm not going to say anything about it, since it's best enjoyed totally unspoiled, but even if it doesn't seem very attractive, don't give up before finishing 3rd episode. 3rd episode starts the actual plot.
@Madhatter: Well fine. I meant "catching up" Black Butler.
Also, I find it rather funny, that I'm huge fan of horror and gore, yet none of my favourites actually has any of those. (Okay, Future Diary is the exception to that rules.)

Not sure on Kimblee. I barely remember who that is, TBH D:
Oh, and for alters, I printed this off on my school's printer yesterday. A bit blurry, but it still looks amazing.
I'd love to do something with Mimeoplasm for Franken Fran, because the deck IS Franken Fran. The problem is, unlike with Drana, where Drana is clearly Rize, The Mimeoplasm isn't Fran. You, as the player are Fran, and the Mimeoplasm just represents some of your creations.
I've never been into gore... Horror is fine depending on the subject matter, but straight-up gore (like, Higurashi naku koro ni) is more than I can stand. Don't get me wrong, violence is fine, but there has to be a reason for it in the story (like in Bokurano... which is excellent by the way. You should all watch it if you haven't already). I guess I just prefer anime that makes you think or wonder to the ones that are work on a purely visual/sensual level. (But to each his own! XP)
Kimblee was the guy who liked exploding things. (Ashling can blow up the board whenever she wants)
So me and a few friends bought the 5 precons and just played them against each other. It was one of the most fun games I've ever played. I almost won too. (Turns out Bonehoard and Masterwork of Ingenuity work very well in five player games. Especially with double strike.) Until the guy playing the black deck cast a Profane Command for 30 on me when we were the final two.

Kimblee was one of my favourites. D:
He was both in FMA and FMA:B, so I doubt you don't know him. He was the Crimson Alchemist, who liked making things go BOOM! (Dressed in white all the time.)

True. I mean, while I enjoy horror and gore, if there's no plot to keep me interested, it makes it all moot. I mean, I've watched things like Pupa where there is horror and gore present nearly on every page, but since the plot is non-existent and doesn't make any sense, I ended up dropping it...
Also, I'm really conflicted, since I Future Diary is one of my all time favourites, but because it was published by TokyoPop, it never got all its volumes translated and released and I only have volumes 3-7 (1-10 were published, out of 12+2) I have a temptation to buy them in Finnish (since they got a Finnish release eariler this year and they are about to reach vol 11 soon...)
However, there's a slight problem. Since there not an easy way to write anything in Finnish without a dialect, they opted to to use Southern Finland dialect in it... and since I speak Eastern Finland dialect, reading it at times stings quite a lot (it would be the same to you as if you were reading a book that were completely written in Scotthish Dialect... I understand what they are saying, but my brains scream all the time "THIS IS SO WRONG!")

No red for temporary theft, but U/B has lots of Control Magic effects, reanimation from opponent's yards, and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver.
