^ Proof that you really cant let this game go! Even if it is just for the company.
TEIN: Better just to roll with the proxies for now and acquire the real ones as you go. If the proxies work just fine, there's no hurry to replace them.
So, M15 is looking pretty cool. Some exciting new and old cards coming in. My personal fave is the new Ensoul Artifact. This should make a splash in many formats, especially kitchen table.
The last time I saw Metallica was in 1998 when Days of the New and Jerry Cantrell opened for them. It's been too long.
Hey EC, long time no see. Hope all is well.
Welp I just make my quarterly purchase of singles. The most noteworthy are 22 Isolated Chapel, 29 Rootbound Crag, and 7 Dragonskull Summit. Just think, when I am done buying this type of land and move on to fetches, my $130 budget will buy maybe 2 lands.

But they look terrible! Mostly I feel bad though.
It's ok I haven't been playing much, PoE has been taking up my time.
So, I decided on a whim and hope for a thoughtseize or some god to purchase three packs of theros tonight.
Pack 1: Tymaret, the murder king
Ok, I have one already and can probably find a home in a commander deck for them.
Pack 2: Tymaret, the murder king
Ooooooooook. Weird. But I have done this before with Hammer of Purphoros. No big deal, right?
Pack 3: Tymaret, THE @#&$ING MURDER KING!
I ate this one after a rant to my wife about probabilities and how my ability to hit the crap rare lotto just took a turn into stupidville. I didnt swallow though. The last thing I want is a paper cut during the number 2. It would be my luck...
Any ideas for using this sh#$&y card for a deck. Oh, and maybe include hammer of purphoros, too. I have three regular and one foil sitting in my binder waiting to be used for something. Perhaps a light snack for between games...

I'm happy that GMAD seems to have risen from the ashes. I think I will also try out my other idea for a GMAD style contest where instead of picking a card, you pick the colors of the deck.
In a couple weeks, I will be visiting my old friend in Ohio and I will get to try out my EDH decks and my cube for the first time. It should be a blast.

I hope your trip goes well. I know when I get together with old friends and Magic, life seems a little better those days. Here's to hoping you have as much or more enjoyment.
Looking through M15 again I see Wall of Limbs. How did I not see this before? Oloro will appreciate this kind gesture from Wizards.
Sooooo.... no talk about all the reveals? Planeswalkers as commanders has me pretty excited except that I fear it will morror last year's product shortage as one or two will be in higher demand than the others. That Teferi though... I am excited to see whom else will get the 'walker treatment from the days of yore.

Im actually pretty unhappy with planeswalkers as commanders. But I will wait and see how they play out before outright targetting them from the start of every game.
Im really unhappy with wizard. I decided not to buy any cards with the new frames in effort to stop my rediculous spending and giving me a clean cut place to stop.

What I don't understand is why they just didn't use the ACTUAL TEFERI CARD THAT IS LEGENDARY ANYWAYS! It just doesn't make sense. However, with this one off product, I would be fine just using the planeswalkers they release in this set as commanders. Just as long as the commander rules don't change for ALL walkers, I think it won't be too bad with just five of em'
So, I get $100 to spent on singles (I won't be spending much for a long bit) I'd like to buy cards that are over $10 that I wouldn't normally get. I only play Casual and EDH. I don't know what to get. Artifacts made sense, they can be played in more decks. I really want Cryptics, but they are expensive and will be reprinted and I don't think I can play them super easily without filter lands. Crucible of Worlds came to mind next, but I don't have any fetches. SDT came inn next, but Counter balance would be ~$35 for a set and I still don't have fetches. I thought of getting Griselbrand, Iona and Elesh Norn for Unburial Rites shenanigans but I don't know, feels a bit limited considering Grisel is baned in EDH and I never play enough white for the last two. I thought of a set of each of the Swords of X and Y, but I don't really play agro. and they are a bit more than I expected. and they just seem like a novelty at this point.
If you do get Crucible of Worlds, get the promo version as it will likely retain value better than the other versions if it gets reprinted again (which I'm guessing it probably will at some point :)). You could also look into buying foil versions of cards on the EDH ban list that you think will be unbanned eventually - I bought a foil Staff of Domination the day it was unbanned and it doubled in price overnight.
So, I ended up selling my computer a few days after and using some of that money (plus the $100) to make myself a Superfriends EDH deck.
I hope it's as awesome as I expect it to. I'm excited.
Don't really have a list yet. I'm doing the thing that I've never done before: make an EDH deck "normally":
1. put cool cards together;
2. playtest
3. update
All my other decks were made like:
1. Find theme.
2. Find cards on theme.
3. Cut until 99.
My old/usual way of making decks lacks a certain appeal. I can never discuss cards that should go in the deck that I don't have, which is why I don't push my deck lists online much: I do tons of research and have already considered everything. If something didn't make the list, it isn't cause I haven't heard of it. It's cause I didn't want it in the deck. It makes my decks hard to talk about. Then again, is does distance them from goodstuff decks more. So this deck will be less "perfect" more "goodstuff" with less of a "theme" (I don't consider "lots of strong cards" a theme, but it won't be themeless, as tokens, proliferate, and planeswalkers, might be (sub) themes.) Here's the list of Walkers:
Chandra Nalaar and Ajani, Caller of the Pride will be cut eventually (maybe as soon as I get the rest of the cards in the mail) Garruk, Primal Hunter, Kiora, the Crashing Wave, Sorin Markov, Elspeth Tirel, Nissa, Worldwaker might never make it in for various reasons (Garruk has GGG in his cost, Kiora doesn't seem to do enough, but I might have to re evaluate her +1, Sorin I hate the -2, Elspeth I like more than most, but I already ahve two Elspeths, Nissa is expensive, and I only like her +1/untap, and I might not have enough forests consistently.
I have a list of support cards to go in the deck, but I think it's way too big atm. The big ones are:
Considering how expensive a lot of planeswalkers are to cast, you might want to consider Helm of Awakening and maybe even the Planeshift familiar cycle to bring mana costs down.
I thought about the wave, I've got extras I joined Pucatrade, dunno what to expect.
I'm not sure about the mana costs. I'm thinking to play a good deal of draw ramp and control, and use them as a mid-lateish game source of CA and go from there.
I just made EDH deck number 3. I was itching to make a 5 color one, so I picked Baby Alara as the commander. It has a ton of ramp, so I can consistently get it out on the 4th turn. The rest of the deck is annoying cantrips.
I'm actually tempted to pick up the cards for an Oath of Druids EDH deck. The list I've come up with uses Oath to dump most of your library into your graveyard whilst putting Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed into play. You then sac XHD to recur Sins of the Past which is then cast on Praetor's Counsel to put your whole graveyard into your hand; you then exile it all to Cadaverous Bloom fueling a huge Exsanguinate. I'm not sure on the commander though - I'm currently running Damia, Sage of Stone but she actually poses a problem to Oath lists not running Laboratory Maniac. The only other options are The Mimeoplasm, who would be an absolute nonbo, and Vorosh, the Hunter who is just boring. Hopefully the new BUG legend in Khans will be playable!
That sounds cool. Why doesn't Damia work? Are you assuming she's in play when you try? Either it works, and you get tons of cards in hand, which means you won't be drawing, or it doesn't and then you end up getting a full hand back. Unless you fear self milling. Or is it cause they are both contradictory. Oath doesn't work well with Damia on the field, and Damia is too good to leave in the Command zone?
I feel she makes a decent second plan. Snapcaster would also work instead of Xiahou (and be cheaper). Mimeoplasm could serve as a backup plan, and you could have a few ways to use him in the deck (or mostly use him on their graveyards.) He also serves as grave hate for two creatures
TBH, I don't have much hope for khans, but that's just me.
I like the deck idea though. Oath was always too expensive for me to get a copy, but I might eventually.
I just traded in a bunch of singles that I never use to a LGS I generally don't frequent due to their lack of magic support. That changed recently as they began taking in cards for all popular formats. Made over $100! Now I've got to decide what to spend that on. Any suggestions? I am still a budget minded fellow, so fetches and duals of any sort are out unless they are cheap.
I play casual (of course!) and commander. Currently working on Azami EDH and have Jarad, Nekusar, Oloro (enchantment pillow fort-ish), and Jenara (aura voltron). Help me spend my credit!
Also, everyone please welcome TheGreatGodLoki to the clan!
Welcome!
@baldersmashed
What kind of deckbuilder are you? I tend to take decks apart but remake very similar ones, so when I "invest", I try to get ~semi-reusable cards. If you tend to make decks and keep them a long time and aren't super worried about competitive, you can get very narrow cards. If you take stuff apart left and right or make super competitive cards, go for staples. This applies to commander or casual.
@BlackVise
I really would love to, but their prices will already be too high for me. How I would love me some fetches...:heart:
@Tein
I love getting staples and that are reusable. I am a Timmy/Johnny at heart.
I managed to pickup 2 Hinterland Harbor (blue/green has been the theme of a few of my 60 card decks lately), Ghostly Prison number 4 for $4 (usable in many of my decks and $3 cheaper than TCG Player Mid!), Laboratory Maniac in foil (for Azami EDH), Ivory Tower for $4 (nearly $3 under TCG mid!), Felidar Sovereign (been wanting one for Oloro EDH), 3 Swords to Plowshares, 2 Phenax, God of Deception (because mill!), Trade Secrets (for Nekusar. Nuff said.), and several other very cheap singles for $1 each for use in various decks to be made. I am especially happy with the two Priest of Titania i found in pristine condition for $1 each for my elf deck!
Also, something sad~ish about KtK:
My favorite 3 color wedges in order are:
BUG
RUG
BWG
WUR
WBR
And I like them all more than most allies 3 color combinations, as I like enemy colors more than allied, they are just that much more interesting.
but in terms of KtK Mechanics:
BUG
Thats it.
All the other abilities have to do with creatures, which I tend not to care about at all. Delve gives me something I've wanted for a long time for my Damia deck (I've wanted to make Delve Damia forever!)
I'd rather make another EDH deck for that price
Not really back, just popping in to say hi and to bask in the glory that is BlackVise as Admin.
Yeah, I haven't played MTG in an age!
Thanks to GR @ Yavin IV Studios for the signature!
