Arc, you do seem down about your work situation. Perhaps I'm wrong? Like I said, your work/life balance is badass, foremost. Luminous in applied sciences has me green with envy too.

I was a super fan of BlazBlue, but didn't get to play as I hoped. It came out with a small cast and very distinct characters with unique matchup dynamics. The first game turned out pretty imba, but it helped it to be loved, maybe the same way Magic's birth was pretty imba? It's the standard "anime fighter" around right now. Also, they made an anime about the game, and it is frigging ridiculous. Because you know how much plot there is in fighter games? Even if "When is BlazBlue anime?" was popular enough to be a meme: still less than you think.

Adventureland was amazing. Definitely the best day I've had in awhile. I really needed it.
A few weeks before I get my actual vacation. 8 days off to road trip from Iowa to Portland, Oregon. Gonna be good times with my closest friends. So, I'll probably hate them after the trip.

What's the word on Super Smash Bros 3DS? I loved Melee, never played Brawl. This will be the game to dust off my 3DS, though I've been considering getting back into the Pokemon Y thing.
Going back to school this semester. Nothing fancy, but it's time I got my ass in gear to at least be in a position to advance. Need to raise my GPA and do that whole "applying myself" deal. Hmph.
Edit: Still never figured out how to fix my 3 title situation...
I haven't really payed much attention to how 3DS smash bros is going to work in comparison to Wii U. I imagine the characters will be the same, but ultimately I don't know how it's going to work out. Wii U smash looks... fun, but I'll probably stick with Project M for my competitive needs. Gotta check out that Lucario though, the updated aura mechanic looks interesting (not as interesting as magic series + empowered B charge systems, but hey.)
Building my brother another EDH deck, going for big black with Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. Getting there, still need to get my hands on a coffers.
Roommate moved in. Got him into Project M, he's been getting my brother and I into LoL a bit more. Still can't shake the feeling that I want to play AP mid, but I've been running Pantheon more than anything.
Well, uhm. Continue to post here for a bit and remain around and after a trial period we will induct you. Tell us more about yourself. Also we have a bio on the front page if you'd like to fill it out and let the clan know more about you....

Yeah, I actually was doing that, decided I'd try a game with Veigar and Talon kinda stomped me. Started making up for it in the end but it was not a good game.

When it comes to magic I am a soulless, merciless spike.
Also I just started working on my EE for the IB Program, I'm doing it on HP Lovecraft and his Influence on Modern Pop Culture.
If you guys have any suggestions I would love them.
AD Fighters/Assassins mid are always a good role to learn, or at least be familiar with for both countering and when you are countered. I've been trying to practice more, but my main role is support, and I've been practicing my ADCs a bit lately. Love me some Graves/Ezreal. Need to get the other 4 icons from Team Builder, but to many normal games makes me extremely sloppy.
I feel that I could make it to Plat had I the time to play, but a couple games each week won't get me there fast enough without playing flawlessly.
Name is "Swenka" on there if anyone wants to add me. I know I had a few people before, but I rarely get a chance to play regularly, and I forgot to add notes to any clannies that I've added, so remembering who is who is difficult. I also made a player.me profile, but the website seems shaky right now with a big influx of users, so I haven't had a chance to actually set up my info.

Wish I could help TGA, but that's not really my area of expertise.
Hitting up a Project M tournament tomorrow. Kind of sudden, not wholly prepared for it, but if nothing else it will serve as a means to hone my craft. 4 hours away though, which sucks. Much more official than the last I attended, so the prize support should be decent. EDIT: payout appears to be to top 3. I'm ok with this.
I'm very curious to see if SSB will run perfectly well on a 3DS or I'll just get the Wii U version; I'm super skeptical about the Wifi and it's speed after how bad the Wii was, strangely I am more positive about the 3DS version than the Wii U although the Wii U will be more likely to be modded than 3DS...
Additionally I don't own a Wii U but I do plan on getting it for the next Zelda game but if SSB is great for it that might force my hand early.
Also just curious has anyone ever played Ultima Online? Man I miss that game.
I've been debating getting into an MMO that is really a sandbox like that game once was, I just need great PvP with little loot grinding.
Might just stick with Starcraft 2 since I hate loot grinding.
LoL is still too much baiting and vitriolic. The community is pretty ugly. From my limited LoL experience it is almost as bad as FPS. I have little patience for that much bad manners.
Man do I miss UO. I had some pretty awesome and epic fights there and I absolutely loved the Order/Chaos system and the magic.
The day I bought my small tower I was excited for a month to show it off, when I got the huge one (not the castle the size right below it) it was in love with the thing. Never made it up to a castle, I really wish I did.. what a great game.
Edit: DnD 5th edition just came out, ordered my copy, haven't played much 4th but I am hopeful I will enjoy it more than pathfinder and have more of an opportunity to play it.
I have gotten back into Heroscape. I didnt mess with DnD or any other the games you mentioned I am afraid. Heroscape is just the right mix of Risk/DnD/Heroclix for me to be interested in without memorizing 30 page rulebooks. Also its easy enough for my son to play, and lets face it games with my son are better then others. I played a MM draft recently, went 3-1, it was meh. Deck was good but couldnt beat the 6 Lava Spike deck. Im still gooooot at standard and I dont think Ive dropped a match at FNM in quite a few months. Format is stagnant but Ive played Jund Walkers the last few weeks and its a fun deck. Turn 4 Rakdos Return your hand, Turn 5, Garruk, Apex Predator. Its a thing.....

if we are on the topic of other games, might i recommend dungeon crawl classic? its created by goodman games; its like old school dnd in the sense that its a table top rpg, however, its incredibly brutal in design:
most characters have terribly low hp
casting spells can fail, and permanently disfigure the caster
being a rogue requires tools and effort, no auto rolls for coming with 1000' of a trap
edit:
my favorite part is the character creation. instead of just picking a level 13 elf arcane archer death knight lord of menfolk, you start with 4x level 0 characters; and play all at once. they are 100% random. you might be a smith, might be a pig farmer, whatever. they have minimum gear and even less attractive stats.
then you play with them until all of them die except for one. the survivor becomes your character. its the most metal character generation ever. its name: the funnel of death. click this link to try it out (dm gets to determine which character select boxes you use, but real men go with the defaults to earn their beards) http://purplesorcerer.com/create_party.php
etc.
best part: entire game is basically contained in a single book; as opposed to countless dnd modules. i am a huge fan.
I find it interesting that Sakurai has not confirmed Jigglypuff or Ness for Smash Bros 4. Could this finally be the end of the original 12?
I do not understand these lane defense games. I played DotA when it was a WC3 custom map, and liked it. Then the heroes started getting specialized designs, with the genre apparently defining itself, and I thought the powers became too generic and the heroes were not appealing to me. Apparently I'm really missing out, but it's fighting games that I really love.

As far as D&D, never played 4th, haven't bothered looking into 5th. All my money is into 3.5, and I love it. Most people around these parts that I know and play play 3.5, so no sense wasting money on more giant books. Maybe if I steal some PDFs I'll look at 5.

I exist, I swear. The best excuse I have is that my opponent didn't want to scoop to my control locks, so I've been occupied. I've mostly been mourning the death of Top Control in Modern. It never really fit in the meta, but now it fits even less. With each set release, I hope for a new cheap card to help my lock. The biggest problems I have are that I need to run 16-18 land (+4 Mox Opal) to save room for a diverse array of oppression, so I need cheap control pieces, and they can't be creatures. I recently tried to raise the number of copies of Academy Ruins in the deck to 3 or 4, then add 3-4 Counterbalance as well. With that, I needed to fudge numbers and add 2-3 Life from the Loam. Other Dredge cards wouldn't fit the no-hand policy for Ensnaring Bridge, and not many are cheap. Even Life from the Loam was too much mana. To effectively run Counterbalance, Academy Ruins in Modern seems like the only legitimate strategy, and Dredging hardly even makes it possible. (Side note: the deck already runs Codex Shredder and Lantern of Insight. It's one of the main card advantage strategies used to give my opponent terrible draws, and to fix my own when I have the room. It would also help with Counterbalance, but even through tenuous testing,I haven't been able to produce effective results in the current meta).
Luckily, I have a nice paper version of Lands on which to fall back for playing Legacy. Lands really is pinnacle of control via answering all aspects of the board, recursion for repeatable answers and toolbox strategies/win-cons, and frustration for my opponent as he witnesses the cards I'm about to Loam/Academy Ruins/Volrath's Stronghold and jam back into their experience of the match.

We all get those opponents that refuse to scoop. It happens.
I really like lands, I just don't want to invest in it. Death and Taxes does well for me, satisfies all my controlling needs just fine. Had a game last tuesday where a MUD player had to deal with triple revokers, shutting down his staff of domination, metalworker, and kuldotha forgemaster. On top of flickerwisp blanking his chalices and killing his mox diamonds, it felt awesome.
I have a problem with EDH decks. I had 7 built up until recently. Dismantled two, but now I'm building another (just waiting for the cards in the mail) and have two other ideas on the backburner. I don't have enough staples.
