Reaper of the Wild - 4/5
Creature - Gorgon
Whenever another creature dies, scry 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom of your library.)
B: Reaper of the Wild gains deathtouch until end of turn.
1G: Reaper of the Wild gains hexproof until end of turn.

"There's plenty of Youth in the world. What we need is a fountain of Smart."
She'd be wonderful in a Golgari, Jund or WGB midrange deck. Not that there will necessarily be such a deck, but if there is, she'd be one of the reasons to run it.
It's a 4/5 for four mana with no draw backs and protection and a passive ability. I don't see how this card wouldnt be standard playable.
Agreed, I think it is pretty damn playable in both STandard and Draft. What's great is most people won't bother making you pay 2 for the hexproof. Good flavor and fairly nice art.
Good to see G/B gets some goodies too. If the Rock decks survive into Theros she will be surely be best friend with her buddy Desecration Demon. They sacrife a creature to tap the demon making him bigger and you scry 1.
Deathtouch is totally justified by the creature type. As for playability, that will depend mainly on how often the scry effect happen. The rest is just icing on the cake.
If you get the chance to untap with this, it's a pretty strong wall. The ability to repeatedly block, kill, and scry is really nice. IDK why people are pushing for First Strike of all things. Probably because they want it to be more broken.

Even without hexproof, It naturally doges pretty much all red removal, doom blade, abrupt decay, ultimate price and selesnya charm, And if you get to un tap or hit 6 mana you can blank the dreadbores, putrefy's and dark betrayal's, which really only leaves you vulnerable to wrath's and edicts.
I feel that with Reaper of the Wild and Desecration Demon B/G have two of the strongest 4 drops in the format, with Huntmaster and Restoration Angel gone.
They even have a slight synergy together, if someone sacs to desecration demon, you get to scry for 1.
This is what I was thinking too.
5 toughness + Black = Protection from a lot of removal. Throw in the threat of hexproof and this gets really difficult to removal w/o a Verdict.
Plus it seems like midrange Junk/Jund decks that she is likely to find a home in would be able to trigger the scry ability pretty reliably.
I think she is definitely "good enough" to be worth considering, the real question is whether or not she beats out the competition at the 4-mana spot. That is a tougher call, and could depend on whether or not you are playing some auras. If you are then her Hexproof ability really shoots up in value and could push her past other 4-5 drops that have more raw power.
It really looks good on the surface, but it's insulting that I've to pay to give a freaking gorgon deathtouch!!! C'mon wizards! You said this was a top-down set!!!
There're more and more flavor judges nowadays and if their reason not to play this is because of the above, RESPECT. lol
I honestly cannot understand why this card isn't getting better press. It's naturally out of burn range at 4/5 plus it can gain hexproof and deathtouch with a minimal mana investment and gives scry 1. All for 4 mana which means its easily dropped turn 3 in GB decks. Wow.

Insult to injury: It's not the gorgon's touch that causes death, it's her gaze.

Firstly, for 3 mana, I can give her deathtouch and hexproof. Not bad and get to Scry 1 when the poor sucker dies, I like it.
Her CMC is something of amiss, but not so bad that she can't be viable in any Golgari, Junk, or BUG FC deck.
I think a little more time is needed befoe putting the thumbs up or thumbs down to her.
