As far as we've been told, the guild boosters that appear in the 10 guild packs for the DGM prerelease are going to be identical to those used in RTR and GTC sans promo card.** As we know, the guild boosters are not completely randomized but come in 8 preset combinations per guild. I was hoping we could consolidate that information so people could see what their guild packs might contain for the Dragon's Maze prerelease.
**We currently have no confirmation that all of the packs will be the same, but we can make a reasonable assumption that at least the rare pool for each guild will remain the same or very similar.
For now I'm going to list only the possible rares you could get for each guild, for a more extensive look at the rest of the commons and uncommons you can check these threads:
It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.
Sounds great, but considering these guild packs will be sans promo, it might be an entirely different combination all together. Just something to consider.

I thought we got confirmation that the guildpacks were going to be identical to the ones in RTR and Gatecrash, but you're right that the lack of promo card makes it seem otherwise. I'll see if I can locate the announcement to double check.
EDIT: Here's what they said.

The two guild packs will be the same as they were in their original Prerelease, but will not have that set's Prerelease promo for those guilds.
To me, that makes it sound like we're getting the same combinations, but I could be wrong.

I've updated the OP with more information. We don't have a good list of the commons and uncommons in each pack, but we do know what 8 rares are available in each, which is still helpful information. For instance, it appears the RTR packs have more non-guild, mono-colored rares (most of which pretty bad) due to less mono-colored guilded cards, of which each GTC guild has two.

If you choose Azorius as your guild, your matching Gatecrash guild-booster could be: Simic, Dimir, Orzhov, or Boros, since each of those Gatecrash guilds share a color with Azorius. The only guild-booster you are sure not to get is Gruul.
So the best thing to do is determine which Guild you dislike the most, then choose the guild from the other set that shares none of those colors. You cannot get a guildpack for your unwanted guild.

I know that. But consider that they said there will not be the promo inside. Therefore, it automatically creates a product not 100% exactly the same as the prerelease guild packs. I'm not saying that it won't be the case. I just think it's not necessarily a guaranteed thing either. That is, the only conditions to meet for these packs were to share a color with the guild, excluding those with watermarks outside their own.
Of course, it might as well be, for the sake of convenience with their leftover printings.
MOON-E's OP states that the guild combinations will be pre-set, but Twonghead continues to argue for random combinations. Where is the definitive source on this point?

I never said the guild combinations were pre-set. When I say "guild packs" I mean the actual booster pack of cards that you get, which contain only cards from a specific guild. In each Dragon's Maze prerelease box, you'll get two of these guild packs, one for your chosen guild and one for your secret ally.
During the RTR and GTC prerelease, we learned that the guild packs were not actually randomly assorted; each guild had 8 preset booster packs (8 different combinations of rares, uncommons, and commons). From what WotC has told us, we can guess that the guild packs will be identical to the ones used in the previous two Prereleases. (As Uii so adamantly pointed out, this part is not confirmed, just speculated.) If, however, it turns out these guild packs come in the same preset combinations the original ones did, then it may change your mind as to what guild you choose.
To answer your question, the guild combinations are not preset, but as far we know the guild boosters are.

Ah. You did say that "guildpacks...come in 8 preset combinations," but now I understand you meant the boosters. "Guildpack" or "guild pack" normally refers to the whole box of boosters and "guild booster" refers to the special preset boosters inside it. I hope you catch the ambiguity now.

Double checking, "guild pack" is used to refer to the entire box on WotC's official announcement so I'll concede this point. (Though as guild pack is commonly used to refer to the guild booster as well.)

It looks like Azorius is the only guild with all limited playable rares, making it the safest pick? Golgari seems to have the most money rares with Orzhov and Boros coming in second. I'll probably go for Golgari for the chance at Deathrite/Abrupt Decay and because it's my favorite guild.
As an Izzet fan, that rare pool breaks my heart. Only 4 of them are limited playable.
It's interesting to see how card values will change with the addition of DGM. For instance, Mana Bloom might be a sweet rare to get since mana fixing goes way up in value. The format will also probably slow down, making huge cards like the Primordials or Gruul Ragebeast a lot more realistic.

With the prerelease just around the corner, I'm bumping this just so it's more easily accessible.
Do note that while we haven't gotten confirmation that the guild packs present in the DGM prerelease boxes are the same as those in the previous prereleases, we can probably safely assume that the rare pools will be similar, which is still useful in picking a guild.

So... do I want a Simic box with Golgari on the back?
Or the Golgari box with Simic on the back?
Or are they one and the same? (ie- does each guild pair appear once or twice?)

They would be one and the same. So far we've determined that each box has a RTR guild on the front and a GTC guild on the back. As for how you pick, that may be up to your LGS.

I'd keep an eye on that one, and make sure any required updates or changes get posted via the MTGS or reddit threads linked there.
Hopefully we can get some sort of pre-prerelease info (leaked, premature pack openings, or whatever) as to whether or not the common/uncommon runs are identical or not, and maybe be able to fill in the remaining 6 RTR lists while we're at it
