Getting the cycle going is easy- take their turn and make them attack so you can block with your zombie eld and get the mindslaver back. The trick is getting to 10 mana to play and repeat. Anyone think this is viable?
In other news, Sony launched the $299 Playstation 3 Slim, Microsoft lowered the price of the Xbox 360 Elite to $299 and Nintendo is expected to lower the Wii to $200 before the end of the month.
Keep these prices in mind the next time your Magic shopping cart approaches the $300 mark.
Only works against Aggro. Any other deck will shrug it off.
That's not even considering the fact that this won't work until you can produce 10 mana a turn. Prototype Portal/Mindslaver is infinitely better and it still sucks.
The only way for Glissa to make any kind of true lock is if you have a card which gives your opponent tokens like Forbidden Orchard and then you need a repeatable method of destroying the creatures like a Engineered Plague(set to spirits) or a Night of Soul's Betrayal. And even if you're playing a casual deck and get that set up then you still need 10 a turn and to keep Glissa alive to make it work.
Don't get me wrong Glissa is a decent card but she's not a card you should build locks or decks around. Save her for EDH and possibly for GB/x decks with a few decent artifacts to return. Basically she should be played primarily for her 3/3 deathtouch firststrike stats and any time the triggered ability is useful should just be considered a bonus.
OK, technically not, but it's up there. Having 10 mana doesn't do any lock at all considering you will also usually need to give your opponents creatures to have killed each turn.

What this guy said. There are some cool things you can do with Glissa (like Executioner's Capsule), but mostly her value is that she's aggressively costed and generates card advantage, not the Johnny stuff she enables (pending spoilers 21-155, of course).
Of course, knock yourself out finding Johnny things to do with her, but a lock requiring 10 mana isn't exactly anything to write home about.

Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
If you hate the deck, I'm probably playing it!
