I already have a Mono-W Metalcraft/Equipment deck for multiplayer.
I'm looking for a control deck or a FUN combo deck.
I'm learning alongside U/R or U/B as I really don't want to have another deck with white in it.
I was also thinking Bant slivers control with harmonic and the one enchant that makes all permanents enchantments as well. With a splash of R/B for Sliver Overlord fun.
I feel like the following deck is something that almost everyone should try playing at some point in their magic career:
Mana (24)
24x Land
This will always vary on cardpool and budget, but honestly, it could quite literally be played with basic Swamps and Islands to great success. If you ran with 14 swamps and 10 islands I legitimately feel like it would run smoothly.
Defense (10)
4x Leyline of the Void @ 84 cents = $3.36
2x Relic of Progenitus @ 90 cents = $1.80 (one should probably work fine, you don't have to blow a buck on the other one)
4x Web of Inertia @ 32 cents = $1.28
Total Deck cost:
Budget: $22.32*
Standard: $31.29*
* These costs exclude the cost of the mana base, which could be as a little as the price of basic lands.
2) Add Yawgmoth's Bargain over 1x Relic of Progenitus. Even though it's not in the current list, it should be, because Bargain is the best $3.00 that you will ever spend.
^ This would make the deck about as optimal as it ever could be. If you can proxy cards, run this list. If you have these cards, throw them in! If you're rich, by all means :P. If you wanted to add say $10.00 to this deck, I would add Yawgmoth's Bargain + Sol Ring first and foremost. These are some of the best cards ever printed and could go in any number of decks.
This deck has a lot of things going for it.
First of all, it's very resilient. This deck features an incredible draw suite and pairs it with a strong defensive strategy. Ideally this deck will start the game with a Leyline of the Void in play, but you can also simply tutor and draw your way into one. If graveyards start to fill up before you manage to get one into play, Relic of Progentius can be used to quickly empty them. From there, Web of Inertia will make attacking you all but impossible, but it will still allow other players to be attacked. That is why this deck doesn't field mass removal (although it EASILY could). We want creatures around because they can kill other players, but not us. Bear in mind that you could always make room for cards such as Massacre or Barter in Blood if you really needed to, but hopefully that won't be the case.
Secondly, it has the ability to win games. It can achieve this in one of 3 ways. First, the Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek combo turns 1 mana into a 1/1 flyer and 1 life. Just sac the sword, get your token, and the Sword comes back into play enchanting the token. Sac the Sword again... well you get the idea. The next potential win comes from Helm of Obedience. If you have a Leyline of the Void in play, cards are removed from the game instead of being placed into their owner's graveyards. That means that you can activate the Helm at 1 to instantly exile someone's library. You will never "hit" a creature because nothing ever manages to make it to the graveyard. One Helm is truly all you need to kill off your opponents one by one if needed. A budget alternative is Time Sieve. Once you have 5 mana and can make 5 Thopter tokens a turn you can simply sacrifice them to take unlimited turns. This tactic takes longer to get going, but is safer and stronger. I personally prefer using the Helm, but it doesn't make a big difference. Finally, this deck can always turn to good old Exsanguinate to end games. If you haven't played with this card yet, all I can tell you is that you're missing out. Hopefully one of these strategies will be enough to help you go the distance and take the game in the end.
The deck is rounded off with a great draw and tutor package. Ponder is one of the best "digging" spells ever printed because it lets you look at up to 4 cards. While Brainstorm is stronger, it also carries a $2.00 pricetag. If you have them, use them. Grab Ponder otherwise. Cards like Rhystic Study, Syphon Mind, and Mystic Remora are just plain absurd in multiplayer, and should draw you more cards than you could ever need. Pure, unadulterated card draw for the win!
If it isn't clear, this deck is specifically built to meet many criteria. First of all, it's fairly budget. Every time I listed a card that cost more than a dollar, I tried to list a budget alternative if possible. Secondly, it's very strong and overall highlights what kinds of cards/decks you should be fielding in a multiplyer setting. Third, you can expand on it. There's lots of ways to tweak the numbers to make room for mass removal, more protection, more combos, more win conditions, etc. This deck gives you a solid foundation that you can build up however you want. Finally, and most importantly, this deck features generically good cards. Rhystic Study, Exsanguinate, Leyline of the Void, Mystic Remora, Web of Inertia, Relic of Progenitus, these are all good cards that can be used in hundreds of decks. You will not shelve these cards after this deck has lived its life, you will use them for the rest of your magic career. That makes this deck an investment, not a sunk cost.
Here's a Luminarch Ascension build that I've completely shut down my playgroup with. The only time it's ever lost was to a Stasis deck across the table that was doing something similar.
The scary thing is that this is far from the optimal build. I should have a full playset of Luminarchs and Enchantresses in here, as well as one or two more Propaganda effects and a decent land-base. And yet, it's still working.
Best play out of the deck so far was when it was in my wife's hands. Someone Archive Trapped her as she killed them. She calmly let it resolve, and then cast the Replenish in her hand for the three Control Magics, the Confiscate, the Followed Footsteps and the two O-Rings that had just been milled. Two turns later, GG.

As long as people are on the subject of Luminarch Ascension, I feel compelled to point out Island Sanctuary. Yeah, that's a Moat for 2 mana that will costs about as much as a cup of coffee. It's the stone-cold nuts in the LA decks, and I really can't stress enough how powerful the card is. Palliation Accord and Ghostly Prison don't have anything on it.
Side note: It also kicks the crap out of mill decks featuring Archive Trap!

Total Deck cost:
Budget: $22.32*
Standard: $31.29*
* These costs exclude the cost of the mana base, which could be as a little as the price of basic lands.
Ways to improve this deck:
1) Use Vault of Whispers and Seat of the Synod over basic lands and include Thirst for Knowledge over Ponder.
2) Add Yawgmoth's Bargain over 1x Relic of Progenitus. Even though it's not in the current list, it should be, because Bargain is the best $3.00 that you will ever spend.
3) Field Sol Ring and Mana Crypt over 2x Diabolic Tutor.
4) Replace the last 2 Diabolic Tutors with Tinker and Blightsteel Colossus.
