I've taught 3 of my friends how to play magic, and now they got an average draft-style deck each: each 60 card deck got 1-2 bomby creature, a few removals, 10-ish flyers without other abilities, and the rest of the deck is just vanilla ground creatures, janky aura/equipments and non-scary utility spells.
When I play with them next time, they'll form alliance and hope to crush me with a force of 3 to 1. Since my wolf run deck got planeswalkers and infect creatures which are too hard for newer players to understand and Tempered Steel deck involves complicated combat maths due to pump and battle cry, I'd like to play against them with a UB control deck (as they already know what "instant" and "counter target spell" means). What should I include/take out to adept to multiplayer situation, where I'll get "time walked" 2 times after each of my turn? I'd like to keep the deck to T2 as closely as possible and no planeswalkers included.
I would build a deck around Chains of Mephistopheles, Ice Cauldron and Illusionary Mask. Just make sure that you play the Chains at instant speed (thanks to Vedalken Orrery) and in response to a Diminishing Returns. The Cauldron is obviously there to fuel the mana costs. The deck is clean and simple, so your your friends should have an easy time coping with it.
