Need help filling in the last few slots in this deck. I want it to be a disruptive deck that draws cards, doubles mana, and 1-shots people with a huge Maga/X spell. Problem is, many of the best cards in here hurt me a lot:
I think I need some kind of lifegain/drain to counteract this, so I added Bloodchief Ascension and Polluted Bonds to help with that. I probably need more though. I'd really like this to be a fun (for me!) list that lives on the edge, hurting myself to power out huge life drains and big dudes.
Here's the list so far. Last I checked I have 14 spots to fill but I think I've added a thing or two since then.
I wouldn't worry about losing too much life. The easiest way to gain it back will be some form of Lifelink equipment. Seriously though, how big does your general need to be if you want to win the game? X=6 or 7 should be sufficient. Besides, if you establish control of the board, the fact that you're at 25 life instead of 30 isn't a big deal.
The biggest thing this deck needs is more mana acceleration. In addition to what you have, I'd definitely play these:
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
