Thanks Wizards for showing some love for the "mountain west" and getting a GP in Denver. I think I may actually drive to that one this year.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
With the number of players worldwide it seems to me that this circuit could be larger. They could easily double up most weekends running a different format.
The reason you don't see more GP is that they offer spots to the PT, which they feel is actually oversized.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
No, the reason why you don't see more GPs is that they cost a lot of money and management. If this wasn't an issue, they'd add more Pro Tours.
Of course, Wizards do have this kind of money, but they don't want to spend it. They probably don't think it's necessary.
Pro Tours cost them a lot of money. When 1500 people show up for a Grand Prix and pay $30 a head to play for 15,000 in prizes?
Sorry I don't understand how having more GP is a loosing proposition. Maybe they feel that they don't have enough quality organizers.

What they earn from entry fees is hardly enough to cover all the expenses from a Grand Prix. Not even remotely close, actually, as those expenses include, for example:
-Booking of the venue
-Buying equipment, and bringing said equipment around
-Fly all the judges there (and I think buy meals and hotels for them too, but I'm not sure)
-The same with coverage members and other staff, and security and catering
-Prizes (and not $15k, but $30k)
-Pro players' appearance fees
-Advertisement
-Cards (for limited, mostly)
...and probably much more.
$45,000 in entry fees is far from enough to cover all this. I've heard some numbers which I don't quite remember, but don't be surprised if they're at 5-10 times the money they get in, including side events.
Because I, as do they, expect ~3000 people in the main event? And if we took any lessons from GP:Madrid, is that they don't want to disappoint the 500 or so people still waiting in the line when the registration *SHOULD* finish.

Considering US gps are pushing 40 for constructed(atlanta this weekend) that makes a difference, and frankly I think you are vastly overestimating the cost fo the GP, judging by the conversations I have had with TOs who put them on.
I'll be going to GP Shanghai, since it's a sealed/draft event, what language can I count on the cards being? Simplified Chinese or are all GPs English?

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....
Overall I am looking for it and very curious to ask that whether it would be one sided race or else. But GP rocks this year.
