Hello all! My name is Anthony, or megaman_96 for the purposes of these forums. A little bit of my magic history.. My dad taught me to play years ago, when I was 9 or so. He had a vast collection of cards and many decks from which we played with (he accumulated this collection over several years in the Navy). His most notorious deck was his mono B VAMPIRES deck, which had many deadly creatures of darkness such as Sengir Vampires, Ravenous Vampires (+ the accompanying breeding pits),and their diabolical leader Baron Sengir! Twas truly an epic feat to secure a win against these potent forces of the underworld! Anyways, time passed, and we stopped playing.. My father eventually there away his collection as it hadn't been touched in years. So we took a long hiatus.. Fast forward a bit, Duels 2014 came out and we fell in love with Magic all over again. Tons of new mechanics, exciting cards we'd never seen, and we had a blast diving back in and relearning the game. Well we played until we discovered a local card shop from one of our friends at church, as he was into paper magic. We decided to check it out and picked up a fatpack of the most recent release, the 2015 core set. From there we started frequenting the shop and the rest is history. We've introduced several other friends to the game and now we have a regular group of anywhere from 6-8 people we play with on the weekends. But enough of that lol I'm sure you've figured out by now, I'm new to this site.. Or sort of anyways lol. As I said we have a regular group we play with and lots of questions come up with rulings and such so I'm usually the 'judge' of the group since I tend to have the best understanding of what's going on most the time. When I don't know or am unsure this site has been my go to resource (in addition to gatherer) for getting the correct rulings. I figured I should just join the site since I frequent it so often. Sorry for the long introduction, thanks if you bothered to stay and read it all lol. I'm sure you'll see some questions here in the future, I'm happy to be apart of the community
Edit: I'm 18 now, so that gives you an idea of the time lapse from when we stopped playing to current time
I hope to see you around the rulings section (just remember to use Card Tags). If you are the "judge" of your drop, you might want to consider becoming a Rules Adviser. It is not easy, but it can be rewarding.
Thanks Rai! You will assuredly see me in the rules section as we get some very strange scenarios happening in our group at times lol.
Becoming a rules advisor sounds like a good idea, how does one go about doing that if I may ask?
And we used to play solely 60 card magic (no particular format, just casual) and our group has slowly found its home in the wondrous realm of EDH, or commander as some call it (Although on the rare occasion we'll still play 60 card just to mix things up). I currently run 3 EDH decks, of which the generals are Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, Kami of the crescent moon, and Roon of the Hidden Realm. For 60 card I have 3 decks as well, vampire tribal (mono B inspired by my dads old build), mono G landfall (inspired by the similar deck found in DoTP 2014), and RUG/Temur 'junk' as I call it (all my left over rares and mythics from those colors, managed to get a play set of rattleclaw mystics and thus this deck was born)

There is a process to becoming a Rules Adviser. It is not easy, but you learn a lot about Magic. This Link will point you in the right direction. I recommend mostly just taking the practice tests to learn the rulings. Nice use of card tags. I hope to see you in the Rulings section, on either end of the questions.
RUG/Temur is my favorite color combination.

What deck(s) do you currently run?
