So I'm finally graduating from lurking on the sideline to actually joining and taking part in some conversation.
I'm a self-confessed geek-girl from London. Just to live up to all the stereotypes I do indeed wear glasses and a lab coat, have a science degree and work with computers a lot... Oh yes, I also have a pink deckbox with skulls on it and I tend to wear stripy tights. I'm in my.. ahem... 'late 20's' (asking exactly how late will be seen as a declaration of war.) I've been playing magic on and off for a few years, having gotten into it at Uni and have actually managed to keep the hobby up into employment and beyond. Yes I am competitive and yes I was annoyed at loosing out on a Fate Reforged Game Day playmat by one loss (stupid Wingmate Roc...)
I play most formats and tend to veer more towards control based decks in standard and modern but I have been known to play combo or aggro if I'm feeling it. When work allows I will always try to enter GPT's and PPTQ / PTQ's that I can get to.
I have an addiction to EDH (and to a lesser extent Tiny Leaders) and here is a small sample of my EDH Decks:
Avacyn's "Mummy knows best" deck - It's not oppressive, it's "Good Parenting".
Bruna's "At least I'm not my sister" Enchantment deck
Gisela's "You'll wish I was Bruna" Angels aggro deck.
Marchesa's "Now you see it... now you see it again" deck.
Purphorus's "I hate everyone" token deck.
You might have got an idea of my sense of humor by now...

Could be... young enough to still feel it but old enough to beat up anyone who even looks like they are doing mental arithmetic when the topic comes up
That's mid August isn't it? I put in my leave request a couple of weeks ago but I'm still waiting to hear. I would certainly like to go because it's reasonably close to me. Have absolutely no idea what deck I'd look towards playing but I figure if I hear about the leave in the next week or so then I've got about a month to flit around from website to website looking at the new versions of white weenie before doing what I normally do and playing control...

Nice to always have a female MtG player and especially one from London. I see you really enjoy EDH.
Hi, thank you - it's good to finally take the plunge and become part of the wider community.
Yes, that's right. I love my standard and modern for competitive play - and I spend a lot of time working on those decks - but it's EDH that I like for casual play and to spend an evening playing with friends. When I'm bored at work or waiting for something to do I can usually be found with gatherer up on my phone trying to search up strange and interesting legends to consider building around.
I play sanctioned formats to win, to learn and to become better at Magic. I care about where I come in big events and I'll admit that I can sulk if I don't at least come out with a winning record even if I don't make the cut. Whereas I play multiplayer to relax and be social because I think that whilst being able to win against people is important it's also important to become someone that people want to play with in the first place.
...all of which is simply a long winded way of saying "When I get knocked out of whichever GPT / PTQ etc I'm playing in I want to find a table of likeminded people and unleash my latest hundred card brew on them."
