Hello everyone! I just started getting into the whole Magic the gathering thing because of my slight addiction to yu-gi-oh when I was younger. Recently me and my girlfriend have been looking at getting into this but don't exactly know where to start or even who to talk to in the first place. I was looking at a 2015 core set deck builder toolkit on amazon and was wondering if that would be a good place to start for two starters.
For two players getting started, I would really recommend the Magic 2015 Clash pack over the Magic 2015 Deck Builder's Toolkit. The clash pack costs a little more than the toolkit, but you get two ready-to-play decks which lets you start playing immediately. With the toolkit, you would first have to assemble the decks yourselves which can be hard for new players. I think it would be funner and easier to start MTG with pre-constructed decks. I would leave deckbuilding for after, when you guys get a hang of the game's rules.
An alternative option are duel decks. The "Jace Vs. Vraska Duel Deck" or "Speed Vs. Cunning duel deck" also contain two ready-to-play decks like the Clash Pack. However, the Duel Decks contain many cards which have cards with more difficult rules.
