Tripp here, I've lurked these forums for awhile but just decided to join. Hopefully I might meet someone new to play and join games with myself and a friend of mine. Or just the two of us, whatever may be. I have played since I was about 7 years old... '96 I think it would be.
Currently I run a B/G Recycle deck, built off of a Golgari theme. I also use a B/U deceit and a White soldier/angel deck just to mix up my play. Blue was my first color, although Black is by far my strongest. Any color works for me except red.... I don't understand it either haha, prehaps it just doesn't agree with my playstyle. I began playing seriously with a group of friends in school, the same group that I started smoking with. Not cigarettes. We had fun, but they eventually fell off until it was just myself, and my bestfriend (also smoking buddy.) We still play, and smoke, though it isn't as often as before. I wish people had a way to play, for free online, using the paper decks that they have already purchased. That would rock! LoL
Pujols here. First played Magic back in 2004 when some friends in high school introduced me to it. I never really owned any cards, but I must have acquired some. In the fall of 2011 I found out a group on campus played Magic so I picked up the shoebox I had at home full of cards and started playing again.
So far I've gone from playing strictly casual Magic back in 2011 to picking up Standard in the winter of 2011 and I've been in love with competitive play ever since. I'm constantly learning and trying to better my play. I've learned so much over this past summer.
So after lurking here for about six months I've decided to start posting and hopefully learning more about the game I love. Glad to be here.

Hello, my name is Robert and I have only been playing magic the gathering for about 2 months. I am currently only playing standard, but would like to get into EDH and Legacy in the future. I attended the Atlantic city GP with some friends and did better than I thought I would do. I placed 548th out of 1646 people at the tournament and was only one win away from going on to day 2. That is a little something about me and that this is my first post on MTG salvation. Thank you for reading.
Hello MTG Salvation! Now doubtless, some of you might have checked my account history and seen that my account was created months ago. However, I could never find the time. So here I am, finally, fully into the Salvation community! Sadly, I am somewhat of a beginner.
(not as long as I thought getting-into-magic story)
I started about a year ago at my local card shop after being urged by two different friends. As it turns out, they were right! This game is amazing! After a year of ravenous collecting, trading, and buying I had a comfortable amount of cards to begin building the types of decks I always wanted to build: EDH. But building a deck for a less popular format wasn't enough for me, it had to be unique! So I chose Skullbriar for my commander. The idea of a zombie that just kept growing no matter what intrigued and enticed me, so i eventually finished it. However, i soon found it wasn't playing very well, and so I asked my friend, Pithy Lichen, how i could get advice. he suggested here
Anyways, I'm finally here, and ready to play a part in this awesome community! :D:D:D
Note: I wished I could have written as much as C_Barretto, but I'm too lazy:rolleyes:
I'm happy to be called Brains. I am acquainted with a local Magic community in my area, I am a decent player given a decent deck and have a keen interest in the game. I sell Magic as a part of my job.
To be honest, I joined this forum today because I'm frustrated with where I am in this game. I've never built a deck and I've chosen really difficult colours RUB(a-dub-dub) to work with and in the time I've been trying to build a deck, I just have encountered a lot of struggle with seeing potential win-cons in cards and actually trying to build decks that suit them.
Essentially, I'm hoping to learn and make friends.
hi i am also new to this website but been around magic since the end of scars, really enjoyed this game, but been having problems with finding people to part with cards i need so a friend of my mine suggested looking online and directed me to this site and from what i have seen i may be able to find some of cards so thanks for letting me
Hello, all. My user name is what I go by IRL, though you can call me "Ed". I've been lurking for a few months, then decided to delve in. After some slight technical difficulties related to my choice of email address, I finally made my way in. I'm looking forward to some great times here, and learning/sharing a lot of good information.
Also, I'm probably going to make a more detailed personal intro thread for myself. It's self-indulgent, but that's what this board is for. Apologies in advance if any of you get sick of me.

Hi everybody, name's Adam and I live in Poland. I started playing around the release of AVR around one year ago. Level 1 judge since October 2012. Happy to finally start posting, as I was lurking for some time by now.
Cheers.
Welcome. Kudos for being so proactive within your first year of playing. Happy playing and Judging.

Greetings! I'm posting partly as a test and whatnot. Currently running a Dega Midrange in standard and I want to contribute to that discussion. Been lurking for a while and eager to participate
I used to play frequently some years back when Urza's Saga was out but gave up playing for a while. Recently I've reignited my love of the game and would like to jump into the community and lore.
I've read 5 of the novels so far and only have a small collection of cards yet, but look forward to joining the discussion.
On a side note I do have a creative side and when time arises I make perler bead art (look me up on the Pixelgasm forum). I have plans on some MTG themed projects on the horizon.
Hey guys. I'm just getting back in to MTG after a loooooooooooong break. I quit just as Alliance was coming out. So here I begin the slow process of trying to learn all the new sets and cards. I've done 2 drafts so far, which is definitely helping me get back in to the swing of things. Hopefully this won't be too painful of a learning curve

I'm a fairly new player to Magic, I started in November of 2012, I guess a little bit after Return to Ravnica was released. My friend and I played mostly Yugioh and decided to try Magic. I bought the Izzet theme deck and fell in love. We got another friend playing and we would play together most nights, with 60 card Limited-style decks, with barely any playsets and hardly any removal. We all knew each others' big bombs and saved our removal for those. But it was fun.
Gatecrash was released, and then I met the Boros guild, which is probably my second favourite. However, Izzet will always be number 1.
I never actually went to any FNM, it took a while to find a dedicated card store in my area and to go to FNM's wasn't very easy, so we bought most of our cards from Wal-Mart... as boosters... yeah, I have since learned the error of my ways.
I moved to Finland from Canada in the spring, before Dragon's Maze, but I looked at all of the lovely cards online.
Mostly, I hope to head to an FNM when I get the time, meet new people and find some playgroup. I really want to build a EDH deck, but when your oldest cards are from Magic 2012 Core Set, it's hard to build the deck I'm looking for.
Most of my cards I left in Canada but I brought my best ones with me and I'm slowly starting to rebuild my collection.
Anyway, I love Magic, love reading about it and following the forums and DailyMTG, and it's great to be here
i have a long and difficult name so Oz will suffice. i started playing mtg about 2 years ago. i love the game but didn't like the standard or modern formats. Back when the 2011 precon commanders came out, i bought 1 of each for my friends to play with and built a captain sisay edh deck. Since then, ive gotten a few of my friends into the game, build over 30 edh decks, and collected over 50k cards. ive been visiting these forums for a while for various mtg related questions and thought i might as well join and get some advice on my deck building, maybe find a casual edh group in toronto. Thanks for reading.
Peace
Im new to this whole online forum thing but im not that new to magic I started playing around the end of inistrad block release and beginnings of Inistrad, RTR standard.
I don't play standard that often but i do help out my friends make their Standard decks as much as i can.
Im looking to get into EDH Commander i made a EDH deck with the cards that i had but it wasn't very good but i am assembling a Sliver deck that i found and i have been editing it to how i like to play It is an aggro deck but i have a lot of options so if my aggro play doesnt work out i can got control
give me feedback because I'm still new to EDH but i do know some of the staples like the Original Dual lands but i don't have bags of gold laying around.
the last standard event ive been to was a Friday nights and i went with my G/W lifegain enchantment and i did ok i just could compete with some of the other decks there but i did hold off against a G/R Monsters deck which i heard was a deck list but i ended up conceding so my opponent could get into top 8 but im not sure how they did after i left.
well that kind of my whole shpeel on mtg
I hope i can learn alot from all the Advance players on this site!
Hello Salve! I've been a registered member of this site for 3 years now, apparently. This is my first post. I'm not a "competitive" magic player. I do love the game and am usually open to the growth and changes that have taken place over the years. The first set of cards I ever got was a portal 2 starter set. I didn't really learn to play the game properly until several years later.
I've a fair amount of experience in the realms of D&D and home brew D20 rpgs. I write poetry when the muse descends. I have a 10 month old son who I hope to teach to play all of my favorite "nerd" games some day. Don't know what else to say really. Hi!
Hello! Just joined this site a few days ago, but I've been coming here to see spoilers and deck ideas for a few years now. In regards to magic, I've been playing since Worldwake, my first pre-release being Rise of the Eldrazi. I play EDH/Commander, and like going to Pre-releases, and would like to go to more drafts now that I've been to one. In regards to personal life, I love playing board games, card games, and video games. I have a pet mouse, a girl names Jawn, who had a companion named Sherlock, but she sadly passed very young (for a mouse) and very suddenly. I've kept pet mice for over a decade now. I also have a pet Hedgie named Reginald, and he's my first hedgie. Also, avid Pokemon and Disney fan!
Hello, my name is Patrick. I'm from the western slope of Colorado. I've played Magic off and on for awhile, and really got back into it since my stepkids play. I've been to a few FNM's and had a blast. Everyone I've met in this MTG world are usually very helpful and respectful. I really enjoy EDH/Commander and Modern. We usually play casual at home, which makes for interesting games. Glad to be here.
