I have to disagree on the dark depths comment though.
All it takes is jolrael empress of beast turning it into a beast, then fate transfer counters off, and blam you have a 20/20 indistructable token....that gets bounced back to your hand. dammit
My favorite card has to do with legacy because I run several decks and one of them is 38 lands, which means every retrace spell is my new best friend, however I think I like the harvest of worms the best right now, but I will have to play test with all of them in order to see which one works the best. HOORAY FOR RETRACE. hope i get the U/R 5/5 flyer retrace in draft. that is sick that all your lands become 5/5 flyers.
that last bit was also amazing with tom trying to pick up the MTGirl
Even though it is expensive, I like the Retrace spell that lets you draw a card. Each land has cycling. Now they just need a way to reduce the cost of retrace...

The Merciless Lord of Torture, Permanently Bound To: ">[THE PACK] 11/5/63 - 11/25/09 Goodbye mom, i'll always love you...
I love the new Mimics (a.k.a. Manlands on a stick). The Woodlurker Mimic is probably the one that catches my eye the most since it has wither (Blowfly Infestation anyone?) The other 2 are solid too, but BG just seems like the most solid 2 colors so far.
EDIT: I assumed that when you meant "Hhmmmmm?" you meant cards I was excited about. At least that is what Gavin implied. The cards I can't figure out are:
Loyal Gryfalcon. A 3/3 flying for 4 mana isn't bad, but it can only attack conditionally?
Dream Thief: Same deal. Card is over-priced and only pays off conditionally.
Hotheaded Giant: Same.
It looks like a cycle and it is not one that gets me hot n' bothered.
is it just me or will flame jab give faeries hell?
Didn't think about that until after the podcast.
It will be problem for sure derek but Scion still shuts it down. And do you really want to miss tempo of a land drop against the Fae since that seems to be about all that works is keeping tempo up on them. I think that at first you are right but they will learn to play around flame jab.
Retrace is gonna be awesome, can anyone say karoo lands FTW. I already have an AeonAssualt Deck that runs Aeon chornicler and Seismic Assualt so some of the retrace should slide nicely into that deck.
As for my favortie card so far in the spoiler....I have to go with Balefire Liege. Helix on a stick is awesome. It doesn't really make me go hmmm so much as *Drool* but there are just so many good cards.
Hey Tom when eventide comes out your Blowfly deck gets alot better, with Necroskitter and Pyrric Revival.
Also the B/G demigod seems awesome as well.
Well guys keep up the good work.

Gotta make this quick... once I saw this card: Oona's Grace

I said, "Hmmmmm... I guess Think Twice was overpowered?" I mean unless you're really trying to deck someone in limited with Drowner's and such, this card is targeting you. And it's not only costing an additional 1 the first time you play, but when you "Flashback" you have to pay the same as Think Twice's flashback cost AND discard a card. What? All this for one? Who cares it's at instant speed. I'd rather have 3U draw two cards at instant speed or Sorcery 2U draw two cards. Both are commons. Why they printed this sub par Cantrip, I don't know. Maybe if it costed U it would be playable. Otherwise, it's awful.
Awww the new Dominus of Will card is kind of lackluster. I was hoping for something better out of U/R. It can have an impact on the game but in the world of CIP abilities what good would it do. I guess it is ok as a 4/4 Flyer for 5 but seems like one of the lesser demigods...oh well I still hold out for the U/R liege maybe it will make up for it.

Syphon life and flame jab are the only retrace cards worth worring about. All of the other ones revealed so far are good or okay, but aren't even close to syphon life and flame jab is pretty good. Endless horizons interacts with the retrace spells soooo well, but otherwise it sucks. The 5 for a 3/3 with retrace is okay. But it is too slow.
Figurehead of destiny is very good, but he will be your first casualty. And without acceleration he will just die. Read more carefully. I knew it wasn't until end of turn the first time I read it.
The two demigod auras that cost one will be very good. First turn nip gwyllion, second turn edge, and you have a 4/4 lifelink. And I hope we'll get a one r/u hybrid creature so I can play it and the aura on second turn and swing for 3 (assuming the card has a power of one).
EDIT: Oops. Forgot about the g/b hybrid rare. That could see some use it combo decks involving dredge, and it might see standard if syphon life does, which I expect it will.
I say "Hmm..." every time I see Woodlurker Mimic, or indeed any of that cycle of new shapeshifters. My group has enough problems with the layer rules as is, and now they're going to compound it with even more "copy" and "become" effects.

Hi guys, thanks for the cast I'd like to send in an mp3 "voicemail", and I was wondering what software you guys would recommend for recording an mp3 from a microphone plugged into the computer?
Eventide spoilers certainly have overflowed in the last week or so, haven't they? My favourite one so far is the UR spirit avatar, the Dominus of Will. Combining it with Greater Gargadon will be so much fun. Ooh! and Paradox Haze. Fatal Frenzy, good old Fling... I'm salivating at the prospect!
Just browsing the mothership now, and the Sapling of Colfenor looks like fun too! It could be good in the Leaf-Crowned Elder shaman deck, or just in casual treefolk.

Fang Skulkin is going to be ridiculous in draft, because he trades with around half the creatures, even in a non-black deck. It doesn't hurt that any deck can have black in it now, so your creatures get Wither too.
Snakeform is green removal. It is absurd (in limited) at its cost. It doesn't hurt that you get a card, but it would see play even without the cantrip. There are very few cantrips that one can say that for.
I wouldn't worry too much about the new shapeshifters if they didn't have nice bodies to begin with. 2/1 for :1mana::symgu: isn't bad - in fact, it's a beast. (not actually, but close enough.)
Hotheaded Giant isn't just a below-average red card: it's also a source of -1/-1 counters. Useful if you have a card to eat them.
Kithkin Zealot's body is better than the card's text makes it seem, and it'll get to 10th pick (at least) in draft. If you're playing White, though, it's an invaluble two-drop, and it can block around half the set safely.
EVE has so far filled me with mixed feelings... many overpowered cards... still no idea how much play testing WotC did on EVE...
1. Turn 1 land, Nip Gwyllion; Turn 2, land, 2xEdge of the Divinity= attack with a 7/7 lifelink on second turn!?
2. Primalcrux, simply overpowered, no drawbacks, and it'll be bigger every turn. Probably a 10/10 trampler by turn 4 in the correct decks
3. Split Fuzzball can easily end the game, if your opponent has enough creatures for you to repeat the cycle as many times as you need.
Thankfully, Unmake saves the day. Instant removal for 3? Sold.
Last but not least the lieges with triggered abilities are definitely overpowered, it really makes me . When the dust clears, the card that has me more excited is Balefire Liege, I got a space for it in my 3 of my decks.
Edge of the Divinity and Nip Gwyllion interest me for limited. They remind me of Mourning Thrull and Shadow Lance form Guildpact. It would be awesome to swing with a 4/4 or 7/7 with lifelink on turn two.
I like the Sapling a lot. It does cost alot but I think you can still use it in sealed and draft a lot. Mainly because even at the worst you will not loose more than 1 life, which I will take a critter for 1 life. Morselhoarder would be more but still only 2 life and you could flip up something for a few life. A lot of the times in sealed or draft you will probally not lose/gain anything. As for constructed I don't really like it, but fun in casual or multiplayer.

Heartlash Cinder is AMAZING. You have a turn 4 kill like this:
Turn 1: Nom Nom
Turn 2: Attack for 2 (18), Nom Nom, Fanatic
Turn 3: Fanatic, Heatlash Cinder, attack for 10 (8)
Turn 4: Attack for 7, sac Fanatic for game.
Some people might play Heartlash Cinder on turn 2, but it's really good on turn 4 and after. If you play a Ram-Gang on turn 3, you have 11 damage right there on turn 4. There's a lot of haste creatures in the deck, which makes Spiteful Visions especially good. I love the card because it deals them 2 right away, and then helps you draw extra burn. It gets especially brutal with multiples, so I think there will be at least one on the board. The deck has no Mutavault because of all the heavy red costs.
But anyway, back to Heartlash Cinder; it's like having 8 Demigods in a deck, except 4 of them cost 2. Like Spiteful Visions and Demigod, Heartlash Cinder is insane in multiples. And if you haven't gotten it yet, DON'T PLAY HIM ON TURN 2!!! If you're not winning with him, you should be dealing at least 4 damage with him.

For 3, your opponent doesn't need to have any creatures out since you can use it like this:
1. tap for first ability, target opponent
2. untap for second ability, target a creature you control
3. while the second ability is on the stack, tap for the first ability
4. repeat 2 & 3 until opponent is dead (btw all at instant speed)
As for my card that made me go OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! it is this:
Evershrike
Creature - Elemental Spirit
Flying
Evershrike gets +2/+2 for each Aura attached to it. X:symwb::symwb:: Return Evershrike from your graveyard to play. You may put an Aura card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand into play attached to it. If you don't, remove Evershrike from the game.

Odius Trow is a great blocker.
Cankerous Thirst is a two-for-one. A shame it's uncommon.
Crag Puca is a blue 4/4 for 3. Again, shame it's uncommon, because it would be fun in draft.
Harvest Gwyllion isn't remotely kind. It might make Standard decks.
